So…
Combat got off to a pretty decent start, no? We had one hell of an opening show with Friday Night Fury, and now we’re kicking off the tournaments to find our first ever Heavyweight and Womens Heavyweight Champions. In essence, we’re making history, and if you know me at all? You know I love making history. Now, I know there’s going to be some sour faces out there, complaining, maybe even pissing and moaning.
Why’d the owner put himself in the tournament?
It’s pretty simple really, I want my roster members to push themselves as far as they can. To go out there and prove themselves week in, and week out. I want them to live up to what I’ve been doing for over twenty years. I want Combat to be the talk of the town, and I want us to be the next big thing….if that means I have to get in that ring and drag everyone up to my level?
Then so be it.
We’ve only had one show, but already people are starting to stand out. Already an established order seems to be forming, a ladder, if you will. We’ve had the likes of Ethan King win the first ever Main Event in Combat history, and we’ve had Killian Kold try to end someones career, something I felt the need to address, but hey…..it’s always been do as I say, not as I do when it comes to Spike Kane, right?
I’ve made my name in several federations all across the world, and now I’m trying to give back to the wrestling business. I’m trying to create the next big name, hell the next five, or ten. I want the people who come through Combat’s gates to rise up, to become legends, to run roughshod all over this business, and at the end of the day? They’ll owe it all to that one man who gave them a chance, they’ll be thankful that Spike Kane has an eye for talent, but most of all?
They’ll be thankful for Combat Wrestling.

We open up on the office of one Mongo the Destroyer, in the XHF headquarters. There’s a knock on the door, and it slowly opens. In walks Spike Kane, looking very out of place dressed in a suit. Mongo looks up and sees him, and for just a split second it looks like he rolls his eyes.
Mongo: Spike….it’s erm….okay to see you.
Spike looks up with a glance that says he clearly doesn’t want to be here either.
Spike: Yeah…..I did everything above board this time, booked an appointment and all that shi...zz…
Now a slight smirk spreads across Mongo’s face, the last time the two were in a room together Spike actually apologised for throwing the XHF Title in the trash ten years prior.
Mongo: To what do I owe the displeasure of seeing you here again?
Spike: I’m opening a fed.
Mongo: …..*clearly not approving.* So?
Now Spike takes a deep breath, clearly this isn’t what he wanted to do but when push comes to shove…
Spike: I’d like you to put us on the XHF Network….
For a moment the words hang in the air, both men just looking at each other, before Mongo bursts out into huge guffaws of laughter.
Mongo: AAAHHHAHAHAHA!! YOU! ….YOU WANT….ON THE NETWORK! HAHAHAHAHA
Spike rolls his tongue in his cheek, resiting the urge to kick Mongo in the face. He waits until Mongo finishes laughing.
Mongo: Oh, you’re serious!?
Spike: Look Mongo, we’ve never been the best of friends, I’ve always been a pain in your ass but I’m opening up a new federation and I think it’ll bring eyes to the Network, and if you put us on I’m prepared to let you run my collection on the Network. All my XHF, nCw, and IWF promos….maybe the matches too if we can wrangle it.
At the mention of nCw Mongo sneers at Spike.
Mongo: You have a pretty high opinion of yourself don’t you Spike?
Spike: Look dude. No matter what you might think of me? I’m a two time XHF Champion - that alone puts me into an exclusive group of wrestlers, then add in everything I’ve won since leaving? The Hall of Fame rings I have? I’m kind of a big deal Mongo, if you pull your head out of your ass for five minutes you’ll realise….just like when I left XHF….where I go?
He leans right over Mongo’s desk, placing both hands firmly on the top.
Spike: People follow.
For a moment Mongo mulls things over, the idea of new blood is certainly interesting, but with Spike? There comes risks, baggage, and the possibility of losing sponsors.
Mongo: Fine. You get a Friday Night slot, but! …..if I’m going to do this for you Spike? You’re going to owe me, and one day I’ll come collecting.
For a moment it looks like Spike is about to decline, but his desire to get Combat on air pulls him through. He reaches a hand out and the two shake.
Spike: Deal.
As Spike walks away Mongo grins, like some kind of Mob Boss, while Spike shakes his head muttering “fatass” under his breath as we fade away.

I’m usually a pretty good judge of character, or talent at least. Lord knows I’ve been stabbed in the back enough times over the years, but whenever I’ve picked someone out of the crowd to go on and do great things? They always follow through. Be they Price in XHF, be they Milo and Dave Holland? Xavier Williams? Rob Diamond? Killian Creed? Everyone on the list has been a champion, they’ve made an impact on the business. That’s my aim for Combat, be they the likes of Satoshi Tenryu, or Dawn Halliwell. From the likes of Zelda frikkin’ Knite, to the great Muru. These people have a chance, they have that second or third chance that they need. They’re either taking their first steps or getting back into it, and I love it. Every single bit of it…
Then there’s Hungry Jack.
A world renown competitive eater, which is cool and all y’know? But this is professional wrestling. How I ended up listen to one of my scouts, Wade….who some of you might know as Atreyu? I’ll never know, but he said you can go Jack. He said you have the ability to put on one hell of a show, and despite every fibre of my being not wanting this federation to turn into a joke? I listened. I signed the details and sent the contract over. But when we drew the tournament brackets up? I kind of felt a sense of fate when you drew my name. Now, I know you’re probably not happy you’re facing the owner of the company, but trust me Jack….when we get in that ring? I’m not some CEO or anything like that, you’ll be facing Spike Kane. The God of Xtreme. The Blood God. Simply put Jack? You’ll be facing someone who is going to put you through your paces, to make you prove you deserve to be here. You can bring everything you have, and I will not hold it against you.
I want you to beat me Jack.
I want you to prove me wrong, I want you to advance in this tournament and show the entire world what you are capable of.
Do it Jack.
PROVE. ME. WRONG.
Because if you don’t? If you don’t bring your A game? If you fail at this first hurdle? I don’t know what is next for you Jack. I really don’t. I want everyone in Combat to succeed, but at the end of the day someone has to lose, somebody has to take that pinfall or submission, and I’m not the type of person to roll over Jack. I’m not the kind of person who gives someone an easy win…..even though I want you to? I’m going to make you earn it, I’m going to make you work harder than you ever have in the past, so that when slash if it ever happens?
You’ll deserve it.
