The locker room of a professional wrestling company can be a strange place. You have your winners, and losers, all with different mindsets. For Hungry Jack he is quiet, which is a bit unexpected. You would expect him to be expressing his emotions, much like the bench he sits on wishes it could. The bench would scream as Jack tests out its weight limit.
Teddy Garrett: Jack, you alright? It’s not like you to be this quit.
Hungry Jack: I’m fine Teddy, just disappointed. I really wanted to start things out right when it comes to my Combat career. That victory would have tasted so sweet.
A triple threat match wasn’t the easiest way to gain a victory, but it didn’t stop Killian Kold from doing it. It also didn’t stop the boss Spike Kane from sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong.
Teddy Garrett: Look on the bright side. At least you didn’t end up like Max Ramsey. That guy got killed!
Jack looks up at his lifelong friend in disbelief. It was unfortunate what happened to Max, but Ramsey isn’t Hungry Jack.
Hungry Jack: Really? Do you think Killian Kold could have done that to me? If anything he’s lucky I didn’t get to go full ham on him.
Teddy Garrett: Since when were you in the business of hurting people Jack?
Hungry Jack: I’m not, but obviously there is a some boundaries people are willing to cross. I might have to think about lines I’m willing to step over.
Teddy Garrett: That’s a slippery slope Jack. If you have to give up who you are, is it worth it?
Hungry Jack: For success, for the title? It just might be.
Teddy Garrett: I guess we’ll have to see how things are booked out next week. If you are done being down for the night, how about we get out of here? I’m starving so I know you can eat.
There isn’t a time in his life that Jack hasn’t been hungry. His poor mother found that out the hard way. She regretting breast feeding almost immediately.
Hungry Jack: I wouldn’t mind a little something…
The two friends share a laugh over the amount of food Jack consumes.
Hungry Jack: First I need to take a shower.
Teddy Garrett: Geez, I guess that’s another hour to wait. You couldn’t have hopped in the shower sooner? You weren’t even in the main event.
Ouch. That hurts. Jack would have loved to be in that spot. But he isn’t going to let that damper his mood.
Hungry Jack: If you must know Teddy. I wait until everyone else is done for a reason. I don’t want anyone to feel bad about themselves.
Teddy just shakes his head. Jack gets up from the bench and you can almost hear a sigh of relief. He heads toward the shower to get clean, and hopefully wash the stench of failure off of himself.

Spike Kane…
When I saw that I was facing you I'll admit that I got a bit excited. It isn't every day that you get to step into the ring with a legend of the wrestling business. Most guys with twenty years under their belt are looking to hang it up. Spike Kane is looking to start a whole new chapter.
Combat Wrestling is the next great company. I believe that. I'm seeing a lot of signs. From management to the roster, everything's in place.
So when I saw it was Hungry Jack versus Spike Kane I was stoked. I was getting a chance to prove myself against one of the best the world has ever seen. It was going to be an honor I was never going to forget.
That is, until I heard exactly what Spike Kane thought about me. I went from admiration to anger in a split second. See Spike and I are a lot alike. We both have longevity it out chosen fields. It could be said I'm the Spike Kane of competitive eating.
But this is professional wrestling…
It hurts me to think that anyone could consider me a joke inside this business. Is is because I haven't done it on the same stages as you Spike? Is it because a guy like me doesn't have the look, the pedigree?
If that's your thought, I'm ashamed of you. I thought you were smarter than that. I'm not some pushover. I'm not an easy target.
I don't care that you put yourself in the tournament for the Combat Heavyweight title. It's your company and you have the right to do whatever the hell you want. There is one thing I have a problem with…
You thinking I or anyone else need you.
You entered the tournament to push us? You wanted to elevate our game? Bring the best out of us? Nobody is asking you to! If we weren't good enough than why offer any of us a contract? Did you think we'd be your pet projects and in the end thank you?
I promise you won't get that from me.
What you will get is a fight! There isn't going to be much room for wrestling when that bell rings. I'm going to chew you up and swallow because Hungry Jack never spits anything out.
You claim you want me to beat you?
I'm calling bullshit. There's no way you of all people would be happy losing. The Blood God hoping someone bests him? What planet is this?
If you were trying to motivate me Spike, than mission accomplished. I'm fired up and I can't wait until Friday night. You've underestimated me and you're going to pay for your mistake.
Are you going to be prepared for the Fury of Hungry Jack?
I didn't come to Combat Wrestling to lose. I didn't come to prove anything to anyone but myself. It doesn't matter who is in front of me. In a way you're doing me a favor Spike. When I defeat you everyone will have no choice but to see me as the threat I am.
The Heavyweight title is going to find its way over my shoulder. There is no one more heavyweight than Hungry Jack. Spike you may have opened up a Pandora's box and unleashed the Prince of Plus Size upon yourself and the rest of Combat.
So I only have one question let to ask…
Who's Hungry?
