What is the AWA?
Absolute Wrestling Alliance (AWA), is an 80s style wrestling federation based in modern day America. All wrestlers are expected to be big, jacked up dudes with vibrant, colorful gimmicks to match the 80s feel to the show. (Think the WWF or WCW in their hay-days, the likes of Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior.) There is no Women's Division in the AWA and they are not integrated into the federation either, this doesn't mean that we never will have one, but for the time being, it's advised any female characters are used for managerial roles. Guidelines
1. AWA will be a weekly micro-RP (1000 words max) fed where the TV show results are all 'highlights' and basically a highlight reel, however the big PPV's will host more of a larger event with more in-depth results. The reasons for the AWA being a micro-RP fed is that it gives me more time to generate results without burning out too much steam, and it also offers everyone more of an equal chance to post smaller yet far more creative RPs without it being a contest of who's written the most. It's all about the quality of your character's gimmick, not the quantity in which you can write.
2. The titles will be weight specific
, so if you want to compete for the AWA World's Heavyweight Championship, your character has to at least be 180lbs
, and you have to use a viable pic-base to match it.
If your guy is lighter than 180lbs he can compete for the AWA North American Championship, which is an open-weight title, or he can fight for the AWA Cruiserweight Championship. The weight restrictions for all titles will be found over at the Championships thread.
3. It is advised you use bigger characters with over-the-top gimmicks to reach the pinnacle of the AWA, however this doesn't mean you HAVE to. If you're more of a cruiserweight guy who wishes to become known as the "King of the Cruiserweights" and define your character as one of the greatest cruiserweights to ever live , then don't hesitate to sign him up to compete for the AWA Cruiserweight title. (Think the likes of Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Rey Misterio and Dean Malenko during their WCW days.).
4. This federation is for everyone, whether you want to settle down with this federation being your main E-Fed, or only participate here as a second character to your main somewhere else. Everyone and anyone is welcome.
Rules (OOC)
1. You must respect everyone and anyone in the AWA community.
2. No profanity to be used in your RPs, unless it's a one off (Like "Ass" or "Shit") or it's [REDACTED] and used for good effect. AWA is a clean, family friendly, PG product. If it is over-used it will decrease your chances at winning the match.
3. Staff's word is final, if you do not agree with a decision, then feel free to talk to them about it, don't make it a public matter.
4. 1000 RP maximum, no more than that. Struggling to write an RP with that word limit? Here are some good ideas you can use:
- An old school interview with "Honest" Al.
- A dramatic promo to the camera.
- A Dungeon of Doom style promo with smoke and creepy music!
Keep it in the realms of the 80s in 2018 so don't venture too far into Modern Society RPs. Keep it old fashioned.
