Yes Danny, yes.
Feel that anger.
Let it run through you.
Do everything I’ve told you to do. Show me the man that longs for attention. Show me the man that craves gold only for the notoriety it brings. Forget the fake you. Forget the Family Man, the God Fearing Man and the Schitzo bullshit you’ve already shown me and every other stiff challenge you’ve ever had.
Do everything I’ve told you.
It’s nice this time of year in Madrid. Venom is out the day before his big event walking with his Bear. They’re on a quiet side street passing small shops when a dark black town car pulls up and stops next to the pair. Venom stops ready in case something happens, Goldbear II doesn’t seem to care. The back window rolls down and James Franklin Karn looks out at Venom.
“Long time buddy,” Venom says to his former Young Guns cohort.
“Too long,” JFK replies. “Does the bear know his way back?”
“Of course.”
Venom reaches over and motions for Goldbear II to head back and he walks around the car and gets in the back seat on the drivers side. Our view switches to a dashboard cam.
“Thanks for joining me V. We have business to discuss.”
We fade out.
I know you think you’re being passionate right now Danny. I know you think you’re enraged because Mueller and myself insulted your precious garbage pail kid. I know you think you can funnel all that rage into the match on Sunday and it will help you, but it won’t.
Anger is the path to the dark side Danny. This isn’t Star Wars, though, Danny. I am not trying to dissuade you from going to the dark side. I do want you on the dark side, because that’s where I live. That’s where I play. That’s where I rule. And that, Danny, is where I’ve led you.
I’ve told you from the beginning you were going to Hell, and now you’ve willfully walked their because I laid out the breadcrumbs and you followed.
JFK hands Venom a flute of champagne, Venom accepts but rather than drink it he sets it down. JFK tosses his back like a shot.
“I’m here for one reason, V, to settle things with my brother,” JFK says. “But being here, even for this short amount of time, has made me realize how much I miss being a part of this.”
“I’m glad to hear that, but where do I come in,” Venom replies. “We’re still friends, but this isn’t like nCw. We don’t need your financial backing or your pull like we did there.”
“I know you don’t need me,” JFK says before turning to look Venom in the eyes. “Do you want me there is the question.”
Venom keeps silent in response letting the words hang in the air.
“If I’m going to stick around, I would probably do most of my work as a mentor, but I’ll need a place I can call home. A place where I can go to settle my scores. A place to be with friends,” JFK says breaking the silence.
“Look man, I’ve told you we don’t need you,” Venom says with a long pause. “I never said we don’t want you. You helped the Guns succeed in a place no one thought we could simply because we were friends. If you need a place to be, Guns is always open to you.”
Venom reaches out and the two men shake hands.
Thank you Danny.
Thank you for playing right into my hands.
Thank you for doing everything I wanted of you.
I knew you were stupid, but I’d hoped deep down you’d make this more of a challenge. Instead, you walked right into my trap. You followed my breadcrumbs and now you’re here. Filled with anger. Filled with rage. Filled with so much emotion you cannot properly express it.
You’re here now Danny. You’re here in hell. The place I told you you’d be going, but you failed to recognize it.
Your god can’t save you now. You belong to me now, and you’ll never be the same again.
There’s one day left.
Call your wife. FaceTime your children. Make your amends. Because for you, it’s all about to end.
