1:07 A.M.
“This is the beginning.
This day, was the day that Jason Drake Mavis was born. You’re probably wondering who the fuck is that? That, my friends, is the guy you know as AWF State of Ohio Champion. You know him as the next X*Crown Champion. You know him as the future of the XHF Network itself. This… Is… Maverick.
Born on the 21st of October, Jason was 8lbs at birth. His parents were Louise Mavis and David Long, both still teenagers with Louise being only 17 and David nearly turning 18 a few weeks later. David died shortly after Jason turned 7 years old, and Louise still alive to this day.
Jason has gone through a tough twenty years. Gone through his father abusing him, attempted suicide, passionate love for some and hatred for others. He’s gone through it all, but today we will be wandering into the past of Jason Mavis and find out what makes him… a ‘Maverick’.”
“Welcome to my past, what you see here now is when my mam held me in her arms for the first time, that man right there is my dad. These two are the main reasons I stand before you right now as a voiceover, some would say a narrator. Come to think about it, the narrator sounds fancier so I’ll stick to that. Anyway, that’s the past, for now, let’s get to the present day for you folks.”
Present Day
9 Hours before The Rumble starts
The scene starts with an aerial view of The Royal Palace of Madrid in Spain. The ring and stage are being set up for XHF’s The Rumble, we see Mongo walking about the grounds checking to see if everything is ready. We also see others who are entering the Rumble match… The likes of Bobby Barratt who stands with Amber, Nelly Angel with Randy Angel who is putting on some sort of Nike tracksuit pants, Brad Swann eating out of a bucket of KFC, and Ember Ferrari eating Kielbasa....
Who actually cares about them? They care about me. It’s all about me! This is my moment! This is the day that everyone will know the name of Maverick, they’ll know my name, they’ll know this day, they’ll know… my moment. This is where legends die, and the future rises. I will be standing in that ring by the end of the day the winner… and the new… X*Crown Champion. But, you are here to know about my dark, twisted and fucked up life... Of course, you are. Where will I take you first, huh? How about the moment where my dad nearly killed my mam? Sound good? If you don’t like the sound of it… Tough shit. Here it is.

After a night of drinking, both David and Louise head for home. Louise is ‘slightly intoxicated’ is not able to walk in a straight line, whilst David insists to play off like he is drunk when in fact, he is quite the opposite. They head down an empty street, no cars, no people, no lights. Louise hears a voice in her head say…
“It’s not safe, Louise”
She questions the voice but takes it's advice and says...
I don’t know about th-
Just before she ends her sentence, David grabs her and turns her around to hold her from behind. He grabs a blade from a black bag by the wall, it’s a machete. Louise tries to scream for help but David has her mouth covered and her screams are not loud enough for anyone to hear. David places the machete to her throat and says…
You did this to yourself. You did this!
Before anything happens, a homeless man walks into the street from an alley after being awoken by the rustling by David and Louise. David doesn’t know that he is standing there until he shouts…
GET OFF HER!
David quickly turns to the homeless man who rushes to David. He hears a voice in his head speak to him…
“Run!”
He drops the machete and runs off, never to be seen again. Before he disappears, he bumps into a group of teenagers who stand there wondering what happened. The homeless man notices the teenagers who shout at them for help. They rush over to them as Louise lays on the ground breathing heavily as the scene slowly fades into another scene…
15th August 1998
Limerick, Ireland
3:57 P.M.
This is Donal Connolly of RTE News, the manhunt for David Long is now over.
A close-up of the camera showing Donal pans out to show Donal in front of a crashed car. It drove into a wall of a shopping centre, smashed through it and ran over some civilians. Nobody was seriously injured, not even David, who drove the car into the wall. We then see David being put into a Garda van, then being taken away from the crime scene.
Present Day
7 ½ Hours before The Rumble starts
The seats are being arranged and the ring is built, sound checks are ongoing and so is lighting. Once again, in the distance, we see Jason watching the construction of where he says is his “Kingdom”
Jack Diamond, The Ace of Spades, The former ICW World Heavyweight Champion, a title he never lost. But, he lost his will to wrestle, hasn’t he? Willing to lay down to that asshole named Bobby Barratt, then turning around and making me win my match. That’s not what Diamond is all about? The real Jack Diamond I knew was willing to beat anyone, the real Jack Diamond I knew didn’t lay down for anyone, the real Jack Diamond I knew… Wasn’t such a bitch. In ICW, you were unstoppable. In AWF, you’re just easy pickings. You really ain’t living up to the Icon name you were chosen to be, and they say I’m not either? Well, I am, and because of one reason… I’ve had a better career here in AWF than Jack himself. All you sweaty marks are probably saying “Oh but Mav, Jack has been a champion longer than your entire career! Like, what have you done?” You make a fair point, but how much have I improved, huh? I’m doing better than Jack right now! How much of an embarrassment is that for him? Actually, I’m embarrassing everyone right now. MGK? Made him look weak. Jason Justice? Made him look weak. Bobby Barratt and Brad Swann? Made them look weak. Jack, it’s only a matter of time till it’s your turn.
Jason looks back at the grounds as the scene changes to another flashback.
“Around 6 years after being arrested, my dad was let free. Though he never went back to my mam, who actually met someone else who will eventually become my step-dad. Whilst being in more trouble and causing chaos around the town. Christmas Day, he left us for good…”

Wexford, Ireland
3:12 A.M.
We see David walking along the quay, watching over the water as he walks towards the bridge. He walks along it and stops in the middle of it, leans along the guard rails, looking down at the sea below. The same voice that he heard all those years ago returns to say one last sentence…
“Don’t do it, it’s not worth it.”
But, he refuses to listen this time. The last time he listened, he was in jail for 6 years. He hops over the railing and plummets into the sea…

10:25 A.M.
“He drowned.The poor bastard drowned, and here I am at his funeral. I remember being here and having no recollection of him at all, even asking my mam “Who was he?” To her reply being “An old friend” I didn’t know who he was until I turned 16 when I was asking all the questions that needed the answers. When I was given those answers, I was so angry.”
A quick shot of the coffin with Jason standing in front of it is shown, then it changes the scene to Jason and Louise at home, the moment when Jason finds out about his dad.

Jason grabs his mam by the throat and begins choking her, and like his father and mother in the past, an unknown voice is heard speaking to him…
“Let her go!”
He lets go of her as she falls to the floor and struggles to breathe. Jason runs out of the house, scared and emotional over what has happened
“My mind was all over the place, after finding that out, I blacked out but was able to control what I was doing. It was scary stuff.”
Present Day
3 Hours before The Rumble starts

We see Jason backstage sitting up against a wall, watching everyone walk past him. They put no notice on him but he puts all of his notice on them.
I see them… They don’t see me. Let’s keep it that way when it’s Rumble time. I’m entering this Rumble to prove a point, make history, and be the top guy around here. Times are tough for me when you try and do the right thing for your mates, they think of it the wrong way. So, we prove them wrong. I did what was best for The Icons, but if they keep thinking that they can kick me out... they’re wrong. Beaten two of three of The Icons, Jack’s next but he's probably bitching out of it. Typical. They made the mistake with Brad Swann, he’s so easy to beat I can throw a slice of bread at him and he’d still lose. It’s a joke. I’m the fucking leader of this whole shitshow! I have to fucking run it! No one else can but me! There are rumors that The Icons are ‘imploding’ and to that I say… HOW CAN WE NOT?! WE HAVE SUCH BITCHES ON THE TEAM AND I’M THE ONE WHOS TRYING TO SORT ORDER IN IT! Bobby and Jack having a bitch fight over some girl and Brad Swann having the worst wrestling move ever and that is laying down and being pinned 1...2...3! That’s all I ever sees in him! And if I see one more person say that “The Icons Are Fine” then I will be asking if you’re blind because we are far from being fine!!
Now, from bitches… to jerks. And there’s only one jerk I know. Robbie Arnold. Oh where do i start with you? At Supremacy, you shattered the ice and unleashed the fire to win the X*Crown. That’s because I wasn’t there in that match. You got lucky that time. Now, it won’t be easy beating you. I know from my examination into you. We get a quick flashback to all of the moment we’ve witnessed, and the unknown voice they hear is Jason himself. He was there all those times. He watched his life fall apart. He is the watcher. The final scene is a close up of Jason’s eyes before a fade to black.
