Metallica - From early thrash, to mid period heavy alt-rock, to late thrash revival damn I loves me some Metallica. But St Anger didn't happen. Nirvana - Defined a generation. Kurt Cobain was a tragic loss. But maybe if he'd been around today, he'd be recording slow paced dreary AOR like some of his contemporaries. Stone Roses - If Nevermind defined a scene in the US, Stone Roses (the album) codifies the Madchester sound. And I played Second Coming a ton when I was a teenager. Soundgarden - I love their early metal albums. And then they released one of the holy trinity of grunge. Black Crowes - Sometimes you need to rock out, sometimes you need to chill out. Sometimes you need a bit of both. Southern Rock revival. Primal Scream - I admire bands that can effortlessly switch styles. Primal Scream came with a blend of British indie and sampling that was revolutionary, breezed through Stones-esque blues rock and went on to Big Beat. Without losing any quality. The Beatles - I HATE early Beatles. But everything from Rubber Soul onwards is genius. If you don't like The Beatles, you haven't listened to the right song by them yet. Iron Maiden - \m/ -_- \m/ No further explanation needed. Wu-Tang Clan - I'm a metalhead. I rock the Kerry King/Scott Ian bald head with massive goatee look. I have a secret indie kid past and I have done the Bez strut in nightclubs. And yet 36 Chambers is an album I can't help but go back to again and again. Hip hop has to be great for me to give it that much love. The Wu Tang are great. Listen to The Wu Tang. Clutch - I like Clutch, There is nothing wrong with liking Clutch. Just missing the cut... OSP - "I'm Will, he's Bertie and we are OBVIOUS SIDE PROJECT!" Nottingham has a great underground scene. OSP are the leaders of its underrehearsed scene. If you've never heard a cover version of Johnny Cash in the style of The Wurzels, then you've never lived my son. Emergency my taste playlist - Battery Breed Love Spreads Jesus Christ Pose Jealous Again Jailbird Taxman Fear Of The Dark Protect Ya Neck DC Sound Attack... House Of The Rising Sun (Live at the Tap and Tumbler)

3. Boris: Another band likely very few if not anyone at all have heard of. They're a three piece that's been jamming out since 1992 and has been going strong ever since. They don't stay tied down to one true genre as they change it up all the time really. To put it in simple terms though, they are a very experimental and psychedelic band. They continue to change and innovate. Their music is top notch and they can shred like no one can and with only three members they are highly impressive. Boris had one of the better high points of any band ever with at last... Feedbacker, I saw them live a bunch of times with Sunn 0))) during the Altar tour. That said, they also have some of the lowest lows of any band. Some of their scammier release tendencies in the mid 2000's to 2010's really turned me off on what they were doing.
