"Please, Come in and have a seat."


The scene opens with "The Family Man" Danny Ray entering an office very nicely decorated with some green plants throughout the room. The lights are dimmed to a relaxing tone as soft music plays as an older lady in a dark blue pant's suit sits in a rather large leather chair holding a clipboard.


Danny Ray slowly makes his way over to the leather sofa near the window, you can't see out the window as the curtains are pulled shut. Danny Ray sit's down as he looks a bit off today.


Danny Ray - " Hello Dr. Vasseretti. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Mr. Ray, how are you doing today? "


Danny Ray - " Not too well lately doctor, that's why I asked for an earlier appointment with you I don't think my meds are working like they should. "


The doctor sits in her chair writing down a few notes as they talk to each other. The Family Man seems to be a little confused or nervous as he sits there with Dr. Vasseretti.


Dr. Vasseretti - " Danny, may I call you Danny? "


Danny Ray - " Yes ma'am. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " So tell me whats been going on lately, tell me what's happened since the last time I saw you. it's been what three years since we last saw each other Danny. "


Danny Ray - " I don't even know where to start doctor, so much has happened since then and yeah I'm due to my annual check-up"


The doctor looks at Danny Ray and smiles as she listens to what he has to say.


Dr. Vasseretti - " Start where ever you feel comfortable we have all the time you need, so there's no hurry. "


Danny Ray - " I guess I will start with me losing my job about a year ago, "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Anheuser Busch right? "


Danny Ray - " Yes ma'am. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Okay continue. "


Dr. Vasseretti's assistant steps in as she places a bottle of Ice Mountain water in front of Danny Ray and quickly steps back out.


Danny Ray - " They didn't give me any notice nothing doctor, just let me go after twenty years of service. Nothing just my last check and a goodbye. I think that's when things started to get a bit fuzzy for me like it used to be. I went a couple weeks without knowing what or how I would support my family it was extremely stressful. "


The Family Man pulls out a handkerchief as he speaks and wipes his face. He pauses for a few minutes to gather his thoughts as he remembers what has been going on for the last year or so. He can feel the rush of emotions building back up as if he was living each event over and over again. The doctor sits in her chair with a smile on her face trying to be as sympathetic as possible without letting her own emotions or personal believes effect her job to help Danny Ray.


Danny Ray - " After losing my job my mother stepped in as she always did when I needed her. She had met a man that was a professional wrestler. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " You trained as a wrestler when you were younger, right? I think I remember us speaking of that, years ago when you use to see me weekly. "


Danny Ray - " Yes ma'am, I did. "


Danny Ray - " Well my mother had convinced this guy to help get me a job. I couldn't believe it when I got the call it was a dream come true. "


The Family Man has a small grin on his face as he talks about getting his dream job.


Dr. Vasseretti - " Do you remember this guys name? The one who helped you. "


Danny Ray - " Of course I do it was Duke Kosloff. The guy helped me in more ways than you know, in more ways than anyone knows. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Can you elaborate on that statement Danny, please what did you mean by more than anyone knows? "


Danny Ray - " Doctor, it's like this he gave me a place to fit in, to be me, to dream and to fulfill my goals in life. He handed me a way to make sure my family was taken care of. Plus not too many people know this but when my mother passes away a few months later Duke Kosloff took care of everything. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " What do you mean by he took care of everything? "


The Family Man starts to get agitated as he starts to rub his head and move around in his seat.


Danny Ray - " Just like I said doctor he took care of it all, in other words, he paid for my mothers funeral all of the expenses. "


Danny Ray - " Yeah not even my wife knows that I have been busting my ass to take care of my family. I'm forty years old working in a young man's world. But I do it to support my family. I have faced guys that are in the best shapes of their lives guys that have been doing this for decades. Now I have to face a man who has been a World champion, a man who I was supposed to face when I first started this career. I don't know if I can do it. I have been holding back things from my wife, my kids everyone for months. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Like what, what have you been keeping to yourself? "


Danny Ray - " A lot doctor, I guess it started with me not letting my wife know about Duke paying for my mother's expenses, but Mr. Kosloff asked me to keep that to myself so I did. I didn't think it was a big deal. Then when I started having matches in AWF against El Cazador, it caused things to stir inside of me that I thought was gone. Things I thought were taken care of years ago. "


He stands up quickly as he starts to pull his hair and pace around the room. The doctor starts to get nervous as she tries to calm him down. She manages after a few minutes to get The Family Man to sit back down.


Dr. Vasseretti - " Okay, I need to know exactly what you mean Danny. Is he back? Are you hearing him again? "


Danny Ray - " Dr. Vasseretti, I have been hearing him for months, he has managed to get out a couple times and I couldn't control him. When I faced Sebastian something unlocked in my head, the door to him opened. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Danny, you know what happened last time we need to get this under control. I need you to tell me everything that's been going on since then everything. No matter what it is whether it's big or small you need to tell me. "


The doctor stands up and walks over to her desk pushing the intercom on her phone telling her assistant to cancel all of her appointments for the rest of the day. She grabs her notebook again and sits back down in her chair.


Danny Ray - " Like I said doctor after facing him things started to go okay for a bit I had won a championship and was on a good path, then little things started to happen a loss here a loss there then I lost to a man who is a great man. This guy is a good person and a great athlete Nelly Angel, but his brother Randy just found every way to get under my skin and when I lost my championship to him things turned bad again. He returned and stronger than before... "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Stronger, explain please. "


Danny Ray - " Well, I could feel him taking control more often, I was moodier I didn't feel the same anymore. Things that normally made me happy just didn't seem to matter anymore. I started to snap at my wife that when I knew things weren't right so I rededicated my life to God. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Did that help you, Danny? "


Danny Ray - " It did for a while then little things started to go wrong again, I received my rematch for my championship. Around that time my wife had a miscarriage and we lost our unborn child. With that happening and then Randy Angel wanting to do and say everything he could bad, about me and my family. I lost it again I felt him take over and I didn't care, I went into my match and almost ended Nelly angels career simply because I didn't care. "


Danny Ray - " After that, I knew I needed a change I have been spending time with my wife and children. Trying to get back on the right path with God. I haven't heard from El Cazador since our feud we had become friends and he seemed to know or at least understand what I was going through. So without him and since the owners of Ascension Wrestling Federation has decided to place me in a match against the former World champion for my championship instead of letting him have a rematch for the World Championship. I knew I needed to come see you! "


She continues to jot down her notes as Danny Ray speaks, as The Family Man starts to pause she places the notepad down on the coffee table and starts to speak.


Dr. Vasseretti - " Hold on let's back things up a bit, tell me about losing your child and how that affected you. "


Danny Ray - " I really don't want to talk about that doctor and that might be part of my problem as I refuse to talk about it or deal with it. I haven't even really talked about it with my wife and I know she needs to grieve I just can't deal with it. So please let's move on, doctor, please. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " I am glad you decided to come back and see me, I think that's the best thing you could have done. So tell me about this guy you are going to be facing. how does he make you feel? What are your thoughts on the situation? "


Danny Ray - " First his name is 'The Prodigy' Bobby Barratt, I don't know if you watch wrestling but I have known him my whole career. It started back in ICW, the place I first got my chance. I had a title shot against him for his Shooting star championship but the company closed before we ever had our match, now we are in AWF and I am a two-time Prestige Class champion and he is a former World champion. "


Danny Ray - " We have big pay per view called Xtraction: Blood Money coming up against another company called AXW, and that's where I will be facing Bobby for my championship. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " So far it sounds like you have some respect for him, so what's the problem? "


Danny Ray - " Doctor, I do respect what he can do in the ring, but I also know just how low and how far he will go to take away my title. It's not the thought of losing the title as it's the thought of what could happen if he would take it to far. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " I'm curious about that statement right there please explain it a bit more. "


Danny Ray - " See he supposedly caused the death of his best friend Shawn Rossdale over a championship if I remember right and see if he will do that just think of what he would do to me someone he cares nothing about. The thought of that and what would happen to my family if I wasn't around or able to work stirs up things inside of me that I just can't let out. So I need your help doctor the meds you have had me on for the past few years just don't seem to be working anymore. "


She reaches over to the desk next to her and grabs a prescription pad and begins to fill it out.


Dr. Vasseretti - " Danny, I am going to prescribe you something a bit stronger also a sleeping pill to help you rest. That may help keep things normal if it doesn't work we will talk about other options. So right now we still have some time so please tell me more about this Bobby Barratt. "


Danny Ray - "I believe he could be a great champion and a great man if he would stop relying on others. He hangs around a group of guys from the past they call themselves 'The Icons'. But he doesn't really need them he is an amazing athlete but he could use some help from you as well Dr. Vasseretti. I think if he broke free from them he would be maybe the greatest World Champion ever. "


Dr. Vasseretti - " Sounds like you may think he can beat you. "


Danny Ray - " Of course he could beat me anyone can beat anyone on any given night. But I believe I am every bit as good as him but I am worried about the guys he hangs out with and the depths he will stoop to that he may cause me to go too far. "


Danny Ray - " See I am a fighter I may have lost my tag team match against The Guns and I may have recently lost against Jack Diamond at Prestige 16, but I will not let anyone hurt my family, I will do what I need to do to take care of my family. Do you understand, doctor? "


The doctor stops writing and just stares at Danny Ray as she has heard him say something similar before and knows something has to be done.
