You can get CC 2015 and CS6 working as well YES! ...F[REDACTED]K. I'm actually on CC 2018 now... gimme a few more days and I'll see if it does what it says on the tin and goes further than the 7-day trial lol That's exactly my issue. I learned how to use photoshop so I'm set in my ways. Swann left us a few graphic templates in gimp format, so we have to use it for those, but I've learned how to do the bits I need to. Being limited for time, it just doesn't feel productive to learn to use gimp when I can do what I need to in Adobe in half the time. Bobby - If you open your .XCF files in GIMP you should be able to "Save As" and set it as a .PSD so you can open in Photoshop. Only caveat is I don't know how good the conversion is so if you then open your brand new .PSD version there may be some bits that didn't process right. I dunno. But it could be worth a shot.

Nice one thanks! I didn't know whether you could save as a psd in gimp.
Cheers!

Yeah Gimp can handle .PSD files, I learned this when Kuroi sent me the original Prestige Mach graphics. Of course there are some things you can do in PS but not in Gimp (and vice versa, looking at you 'color to alpha') particularly when it comes to text effects, so there might be a few bits that are lost in translation between the two formats and programs. But I guess as long as you've got most of the information then the worst case scenario is you can use PS to fill in the gaps and recreate any "broken" bits.

I think Photoshop is the standard for everyone. I use the suite, Photoshop Fix, Lightroom, Spark and Express. For non Adobe products, I use MOLDIV, Visionist and Pixaloop.

Photoshop is my main go-to, but I have picked up Photo Pos Pro and a little bit of GIMP on the side
