May 28th 2018 - 10:00AM - John F Kennedy International Airport - New York, New York.
The scene opens at JFK International Airport in New York. American Airlines Flight 142 is boarding to head to Heathrow in the UK. There is chatter here and there as the people board the Boeing 777. Some people are flying for business, others returning home from Holiday. In first class we see Jack Diamond sit down beside Dakota Paige after pushing his carry on luggage in the overhead compartment.
Diamond: You know, I a really racking up these frequent flyer miles with all these trips over to London. I'm damn near spending as much time there as I am stateside.
Dakota: Yeah, I thought ICW was a big time company but with all these international shows the XHF Network sponsor, you are really getting to see a lot of this world.
Diamond: Yeah, I guess. I'm just ready to get there and get this match over with and bring my X-Crown championship back to America where i belongs, back in the AWF. What do you have there?
Dakota is hooking up some headphones into her iPad. She loads Netflix and looks over at Diamond.
Dakota: Well, this is a really long flight and I get too nervous flying to take a nap or anything like that. So I figured I would watch some Netflix.
Diamond: A little Netflix and Chill huh? Adds a new element to the mile high club.
Dakota playfully punches Diamond in the arm as she selects the show "13 Reasons Why"
Dakota: Oh Stop! Be good! ha. No, I've really gotten into this 13 Reasons Why show everyone has been talking about. It's an addiction, I can't stop watching so I figured what better way to get through this seven plus hour flight than to binge watch a bit. You want to watch it with me?
Diamond: Eh, I don't know, it doesn't really seem like something I would enjoy. Why not though? It won't hurt to pass a little time.
Diamond puts one of the ear buds in as Dakota kind of snuggles up next to Diamond in their first class seats. They start watching the show as the plane begins preparations to take off. Somewhere halfway through the episode, Jack finds his eyes getting fairly heavy. He blinks it away a few times but the blinks take longer for him to open his eyes each time. Soon, he is drifting... his eyes get cloudy as a dream slowly takes over.
Diamond is walking around in his office, having his morning coffee. He decides to go to the front door to grab the morning newspaper and check to see if there is any mail outside. As he opens the door he notices a shoebox with a bow on it and nothing else. Diamond looks around out across the parking lot and sees no movement. He picks up the box and the morning newspaper and walks back into his office, pulling the door shut behind him. He walks over to a nearby counter and sets the box down, tossing the newspaper over towards a sofa to read later. He takes a sip of his coffee before reaching down and untying the bow wrapped around the shoebox. Reaching down to lift the lid of the box open Diamond eyes the contents with confusion There are seven cassette tapes inside, wrapped in bubble wrap. He picks up the first case and opens it, removing the cassette tape. It appears each side of the tapes have been painted with a number. He looks down at the first tape.
He pops it in a boom box and hits play, to the sound of static at first. Then it clears up and to Jack's surprise he hears himself on the other end...
Hey, it's Jack. Jack Diamond.
Diamond: Oh shit...
That’s right. Don’t adjust your... whatever device you’re hearing this on.
It’s me. Live and in stereo. Get a snack. Settle in. Because I'm about to tell you the story of my life.
More specifically, why I will become the next XHF X-Crown Champion.

The rest of tape one is uneventful for the most part, Jack paying respect to his parents for believing in him, pushing him, and in reality paying for all of his wrestling school. While they don't agree with some of the paths their son has traveled, they are without a doubt proud of Diamond as he adds another achievement to his storied career.
Tape one finishes and Jack immediately pops it out and flips it over to Side B, which has a number 2 painted on it in the same blue paint. Tape 2 picks up where side one left off, Jack's mom and dad sending him to wrestling school. Out of all the schools they could have sent him to, they chose Christopher Chavis, who came to fame as Tatanka in the early to mid nineties. Jack speaks warmly of Chavis, thankful for showing him how to take pride in his Native American heritage while still focusing on the goals of becoming a star in the industry. Just listening to the passion that Jack speaks on this tape, his confidence begins to sore. Listening to these cassettes almost instantly become an addiction and as soon as tape 2 finishes he quickly tosses it to the side and grabs the next cassette, one with a number 3 painted on it. As he hits the play button one name is spoken, Shawn Rossdale. Rossdale is the man that took a chance on Jack, pulling him from the indy scene and giving him a shot at a big time promotion. While ICW didn't last long enough to completely seal his legacy, it gave him a taste of world championship gold as well as allowed him to dominate the business at the highest level. The tape also touches on the emotions Jack felt when finding out Rossdale had died, as well as the recent confusion knowing that it was all a lie. One thing for sure though, Rossdale helped pave the way to Jack's X-Crown match. The tape cuts off and Jack flips it around to number 4. He takes a deep breath, drinks some of his coffee and hits play.
Welcome back.
So glad you're still listening.
Are you having fun? You must be wondering who's next, and why.
Is it you? What did you do? How did you end up on these tapes? Maybe you did something cruel. Hell, maybe you did something awesome. In your case, you did a little of both over the last year. Bobby Barratt, welcome to your tape!
Tape four is a long one. It is an entertaining one. An epic story of good vs evil turning into best friends and looking for every possible way they can fuck shit up. Jack and Bobby's history was rocky at best. Bitter enemies who by chance came together for a common goal. The two would go on to be best of friends before that trust they built was brought into question.
Bobby, many people think there is a crack in the foundation of the Icons that will soon cause us to come tumbling down. They couldn't be more wrong. You are claiming the gold one after another and I will claim this one. Then who knows? Global Tag Belts maybe? One thing for sure is I have a lot to thank you for preparing me for my victory at Blood Money.
Tape five is about Mongo The Destroyer. The once great competitor turned XHF mogul, but seriously... Fuck Mongo. Nothing to see here. Tape 6 is unique in that it is shared by Felix Ziko and Terry Bradshaw. For every ounce that Felix is inept at being an owner, Terry Bradshaw is every bit as crazy. The two of them, if not for the great talented roster they have somehow assemble in AWF would have already ran the company into the ground. Still, they gave Jack a home when he needed a new place to shine and it is either because of them or in spite of them that he now finds himself heading to Blood Money to take on Rob Arnold. Jack sits down on the sofa in the corner of his office and continues listening to the tapes. One after another it brings more memories of Jack's almost forgettable run to this point in AWF.
Tapes 7, 8, and 9 are all former opponents of Jack... Hyperion, Jackson Steele and Danny Ray respectively. All played a huge role in Jack's AWF career without even knowing. Hyperion, and his Order shelved Diamond just when things were getting hot. Had it not been for this faux god, Jack may already be champion. Upon coming back from injury one of his first huge single matches was up against current AWF Champion, Jackson Steele. Jack ultimately lost the match but it was the momentum from that match that he carried with him into XHF's Rumble where he set the world on fire with his showing. And Danny Ray... oh Danny Boy... in this case "whipping boy" as the victory over Danny gave Jack Diamond his swagger back. Nevermind what happened AFTER that show, the win plays huge on the confidence of the Ace of Spades. Tape 9 ends,
Diamond flips it over and pushes play on number 10. Dakota Paige. See Dakota has been huge for his career both before AWF and since. Coming into his life in a dark period during ICW, Dakota refocused the World champ so that he could do what needed to be done to dominate that company and the business as a whole. With the chaos surrounding Shawn Rossdale's "death" and the eventual closure of ICW, Diamond left town, secluding himself back home in Cherokee and cutting all ties with anyone he knew in the business including Dakota. It wasn't until she pushed her way back into his life, almost ending the friendship he built with Barratt that Diamond started clicking here in XHF. She may be one of the main reasons Diamond will win the X-Crown Championship.

Diamond finishes this tape and eagerly puts in number 11. What could be the final three reasons? He pushes play and stretches his neck from side to side before focusing on the audio.
You see, the subject of this story wasn't even on my radar. Not until recently. One chairshot heard around the world changed all of that. So Rob Arnold... this is your tape.
The tape goes on to narrate the first matchup the two had at the rumble in great detail, Jack being put in agony by the submission hold that seemed to be applied forever to Jack having Arnold right where he wanted him to ultimately losing just barely.
It saddens me, Mr. Arnold. I could have been TeamRobbie. I gained a lot of respect for you that night in the rumble, a respect that you immediately lost when you came into MY world with one swing. You are upset that people keep my name in their mouths instead of yours? Robbie, it will ALWAYS be that way, especially when I take that title that you clearly do not want to part with. You did this, and now you are just another reason why I will win the X-Crown Championship this Sunday.
The feed goes silent and Jack seething a bit as he remembers the chairshot flips the tape over to see the number 12 painted on the side of it and pops it back in.
As we are winding down here, there are others that could have been on these tapes. People who by whatever circumstance came into my life and made some type of impact. Who knows, maybe next time. Out of all these people I've spoken about today, one stands out above them all...
Jack Fuckin' Diamond, welcome to your tape!
Silly that I'm talking to myself? Maybe. However, the truth is there is only one reason why I will win the X-Crown championship at Blood Money and that is Me! See, all those months ago when Bobby talked me into joining this rinky-dink Ohio fed the X-Crown is what intrigued me the most. Through every up and down I've had along the way I've come back bigger and better each damn time. I've been on top of the mountain and Sunday I will be there again. Call it luck, call it a fluke, call it whatever you want but when it's all said and done, I will rule this entire network and that is something you can bet on!
Jack, feeling pumped up after the last tape pulls the final cassette out of the box. He stares down at the blue number 13 on side A of the tape. The final reason why he will win the X-Crown. This has GOT to be good...
May 28th 2018 - 9:55PM - Heathrow Airport - London, UK
Suddenly Jack feels a jarring movement. He tries to look around but the tape, the cassette player, the office starts fading. Another jar and he blinks, a faint screeching now wakes him up from his sleep as the flight is landing on the runway at Heathrow. Dakota is turning off her iPad to put it away so they can get off the plane once connected to the terminal. Jack sits up and wipes a little drool from the corner of his mouth.
Diamond: Huh? What? Aw man, I didn't get to hear tape thirteen.
Dakota looks over at him and smiles, almost with love in her eyes that Diamond is talking about something she enjoys.
Dakota: Aw Jack! I didn't know you were paying attention that much! Sorry, I figured we could save that episode for later.
Diamond: Episode? Oh! Right! Yeah I am TOTALLY hooked on that show.
Diamond looks away so as not to give away anymore than he already has. Dakota seems oblivious to it and starts getting situated to leave the plane. Diamond straightens his tie and tries to shake the cobwebs from his head.
Diamond: I'm glad this flight is over. Time to focus on my match Sunday. I'll show EVERYONE that I don't need thirteen reasons why I will walk out the X-Crown champion.
Dakota: What?
Diamond: Oh, nothing...
Jack laughs a bit to himself as the captain comes over the PA system announcing instructions to those on board and thanking them for a great flight. Diamond stands to retrieve his carry-on bag and awaits for time to exit the plane as the scene comes to an end.
