Martian Manhunter is a cool concept, but honestly he kinda sucks. Him and Vision. I mean if you transferred all his extra powers to Supes then sure, but right now he looks like a shitty green alien who is into He-Man. Ayy lmao. HOWEVER...the BEST comic book character ever, in terms of reading them, watching them, hating/ loving them...The Joker. Let's be honest. God, do basic bitches piss me off................ The Joker, yes, fantastic character with a rich backstory. As far as a villian goes, yeah, he's up there. But........ HE'S NOT EVEN THE BEST BATMAN VILLIN EVER!!!Now listen here ya uneducated swine...... The Joker is made to look cool in movies and TV shows, and for the record, Jack Nicholson is the best joker, outside of Mark Hamill, but he is some deranged freak show who is literally nothing without Batman. Without the Batman, The Joker is rotting away in Arkham, high on whatever anti-psych meds are the weekly special for the doctors at what is undoubtedly an under funded, under staffed, and poorly ran, state funded mental hospital. The best Batman villain is The Penguin. His story is much better than the fucking Joker. "Oh, I fell in some fucking acid and now my face is stuck." For one, what the fuck? An industrial accident turns you nuts. That's not a villain, that's PTSD. The Penguin....deformed at birth, floated down the river like from the fucking Bible Holy Fucking Bible, raised by Penguins, gets elected to public office, and destroys Gotham. Not to mention, remember the Batman TV Series? The one with Adam West? Who was the ring leader of the villains? It wasn't no purple suit wearing fruit cake cesar romero. No. It was the mother fuckin Penguin son! Now, the best villain of All-Time is either Thanos or Lex Luthor. Thanos can literally snap is fingers and HALF THE POPULATION OF EARTH BECAME A KANSAS SONG! What other Superhero can just make 4 Billion people go poof. And if "Supes" (God damn it) is so fucking awesome, how about his greatest villain be in the conversation? Who else brought the mighty Son of Krypton to his knees? Who else could harm, and murder, the Man of Steel. Lex fucking Luthor! He wasn't criminally insane like so many other villains. He was cold, calculating, and out to better his own position. He was a capitalist and an illegal alien stood between him and what was rightfully his, fucking everything. And since we are down this rabbit hole, the best villain is one who turned into a good guy in the end. How about some love for the Prince of Saiyans? That's right Vageta! What other villain can lay claim to being the second strongest life form in a universe, fight the good guy for almost two damned months, and then spawn one of the strongest beings in the universe with a common mortal. He was only bested by Goku, frieza, and Cell. The final two he took out with ease later in the cannon. He was one of the first Super Saiyans in several millenia. Vageta has to have some love. Fuck man. (Sorry, fighting with the girlfriend and I got some pent up anger, energy, and issues.) And since I have abandoned the Martian Man Hunter, mainly because your simple brains can't comprehend complex storylines and a rich story, allow me to dumb it down for you. The best hero, The Punisher. You all want to clamor for the "anti-hero", the guy who does the right thing the wrong way but for the right reasons. Dude is legit. He doesn't have super powers. He can't warp metal, regenerate, or move things with his mind. He is a common fucking man who shoots the fuck outta shit and never asks any questions. He lost everything and decided to say 'Fuck it. Imma kill everybody." Frank Castle is the badass y'all want, but since he has no flashy remake, no arch villain, and hasn't been done to fucking death by Hollywood, none of you simpletons could give a fat, flying fuck. Shame on you so-called nerds. I can only pray you lose your 20-sided die and that pillow you fuck at night and call your girlfriend goes flat, your fedora gets stepped on, and you run out of vaping oil before you can tell that girl who is way out of your league to make you a sammich m'lady. You people sicken me, and not the "I ate too many buffalo wings and drank too much of the Pumpkin Spice IPA I homebrewed" kind of sick. This is the "I got way too drunk and woke up next to a 400 pound thing with more hair on her face than I do and smells like a Chicken of the Sea canning factory" kind of sick.

But Vegeta isn't from comics. he's from manga...
Also Jokers real back story is... varied. it's not really known as it changes by which joker your talking about. But it's more then just falling into acid/toxic ooze stuff with him. he lost his wife and unborn child as well as other shit.
Besides... What about Mr.Freeze also? he's the most tragic hero of them all!

What about Mr.Freeze also? he's the most tragic hero of them all! I don't believe Mr. Freeze was all that much of a villain. He was a doctor who went to extreme measures to bring awareness and treatment to a disease that was killing his wife, and saved one of the uber good guys in Alfred. Dr. Viktor Freeze was an activist. He was Michael Moore with abs and a sense of purpose. And Manga is just comics that grew up and found a steady job. Literally, the same exact thing. Manga is in book form. Literally, an animated story filled with complex storylines, rich character arcs, and impressive art. The exact same. Manga should be considered in the same realm as comic books.

See if you're assuming manga as comics and comics as manga i'd of picked someone else. someone who actually is a good well rounded character with no 50 billion reboots and crap. but also i'd go very obscure most likely and also, also with manga you need to go by genre and stuff really though.

You can do the same with comic books, as in sort by genres and whatnot. Not all comics are larger than life super heroes who fight crime and destroy cities. Ever heard or Archie? Ya know, we are all very wrong. We can debate who the best super powered monster is, or who the best villain is, but the best heroes, the real heroes we all should strive to be like.... The repair men that restore the cities of Gotham, Metropolis, and others back to their prestine condition after a mega battle occurs and half the damned town falls down. These men and women work day and night to put the globe back on the Daily Planet, repair the observatory in Gotham, fix skyscrapers that have been demolished, restore the old buildings that suffer damage when Batman drives his Batmobile up their side. From the insurance adjusters who work tirelessly cutting land owners and businessmen their checks, to the welders, carpenters, brick layers, cement finishers, window installers, roofers, plumbers, electricians, and many more. In just days the cities of our beloved comics are fixed as if Superman didn't just throw General Zod through three city blocks of 20+ story buildings. They are the real heroes

I'm not crying your crying! *he says as he wipes tears and claps away*
That's so true! also... do you mind if i go into more detail by a genre by genre basis for manga and or comics? it'd be this idea, just far less broad and more precise (I guess is how i should word this).

The Penguin?! Boy you need to lay off the hashish. He's no better than Falcone or one of those other thugs.
Joker isn't such a villain in the sense that...say, Zsasz is. A rapist murdering monster. Joker is more of a chaos-embracing psychopath. He knows what he's doing, he plans out what he's doing. That's what makes him even more fucked up! Plus his story is super relatable, think of the one saying he spits out during the Killing Joke;
'You are just one bad day away from being me."
I agree with that, so so much. So many times in work I think I am going to burn down the building, or angry with friends/ family that I say fuck 'em all. The man speaks the truth. He's a broken mind, a splintered soul who has just lost the sunshine in his light. He is way more dangerous, villainous or evil than any other Batman baddie, or even DC baddie. Doomsday, pssh. Darkseid, sure whatevs. Scarecrow, Luthor, Thawne. All baddies but all trying to be the best at beating the good guys. Jokers isn't trying to win, he's trying to make everyone else lose with him!
Also Heath Ledger's depiction was the most accurate of this anarchist. Just trying to burn the world around him. Nicholson played the psycho crazy guy great, and Hamill got the voice/ attitude spot on for movies/ games. But as for a live action portrayal...Ledger.

Nicholson played the psycho crazy guy great, and Hamill got the voice/ attitude spot on for movies/ games. But as for a live action portrayal...Ledger. Ok little man. For one, you are out of your element. For two, each actor who played the Joker had a different portrayl of his character. Nicholson played his version the best. Romero was the prankster, the happy side of him. Nicholson was the mobster. Hamill was the genius. Ledger was the chaotic side. Leto was the psychopath. Together they all combined to be the Joker. But Nicholson played the mobster better than the rest played their parts, with Hamill finishing a razor thin second. Your depiction of Luthor is factually incorrect. Lex Luthor is trying to expand his empire. When Superman got in the way, he went after him, because he was preventing him from achieving his all time goal. And are you serious right now? The Joker was entirely consumed with Batman and nothing else. Everything the Joker did was to bait Batman. I believe there is a line from The Killing Joke that is something to the effect of, Niether of us will be happy while the other one lives. I believe that was when he was begging Batman to kill him. BTW, Batman: The Killing Joke is far and away the best Batman ever. The Joker was solely focused, not on chaos, but driving Batman as insane as he was. This is a stated fact. You sir are just wrong. And Kira, George Romero created the Day of the Dead movies and had absolutely nothing to do with Batman... Wait was Day of the Dead a comic book?

fudge a judge! i got his name wrong, but you know the 60's batman tv show? the guy who played joker in that one. That guy is clearly the best. although i was joking when i said that. all the jokers were good except that shitty suicide squad garbage.
Also joker and batman can't live with out the other. at least i think that's what i read somewhere. but still, theres a bit of joker in all of us if you think about it. unless your a saint or a monk or a nun. then maybe not. but none of us here are any of those, at least i don't think. if you are then why are you here anyways? anyways, joker is the unsung hero at least to me and will always be the best character. but then again this is all about our opinions. and just like how we all have opinions and ass wholes, your not gonna change 'em. or... it's damn near impossible anyway.
but still... jokers awesome. hamil or hammil or how ever you spell it is the best joker (voice wise) and should be the only one at least till he dies and/or can't do it anymore.

Oh man Dackle, have you not been watching Gotham!? That is a great Joker!
...
...
...pausing for anger to rise further...
just kidding! Seriously, Hamill is my main Joker. That voice and laugh is just perfect. I guess it's not totally fair since the acting was done by the animators, but still, when I read a comic book, Hamill is the Joker voice I hear in my head. But your right, each actor pulled from a different aspect of the comic book Jokers personality, probably to try to not step on the toes of the actors who came before. So it is hard to rank because Romero is just so different from Ledger, who is so different from Nicholson.
Also, Luther initially was mad that Superman got in the way of his empire building. But eventually he becomes obsessed with being better than Superman, because it's not fair that Supes gets to be this powerful man just by being born. So Luthor's main goal becomes to do whatever he can to prove he is superior to Superman.
Also also, Penguin is cool, but he's no Riddler.

So I dunno if anyone else drew this comparison.... The Joker cant live without Batman, but neither can move on if the other is alive. Bruce Wayne can't be Bruce Wayne until the Joker is no more. So basically, "One can't live while the other survives." Sound familiar? Should I have an owl bring this message to you?
And since I am outside the comic book topic, Rhyno was on the E&C Podcast this week, it was so awkward and yet so brilliant. Kanyon check that shit out
