Rock and Austin were the worst for it. At least it was a long term rivalry so you could say they were toughened up to the move, but it's a shitty excuse lol. That was the start of a slippery slope for finishing moves.

I think the worse case lately was Roman kicking out of like 6 or 7 F- 5's that's just plain stupid.

Right. There are different finishers for different occasions. There are common or garden finishers, that should be used in normal matches, but you might need two or three to win a big match.
There are protected finishers that will always win a match so that when the super big fued ending match happens you can have the odd kick out and it should get a massive pop.
And then there are MDK finishers that should never, ever, ever be kicked out of. These are death on a stick.
Think about Omega for this. Aoi Shoudou will beat someone he's better than but stands no chance against a main eventer. Croyt's Wrath might win against a main eventer but probably won't win a big match. The One Winged Angel? I don't think I've seen Okada kick out of it, even in matches where he's kicked out of both the other finishers, plus about 500 V Triggers.
