[Osaka, Japan. One of the most populated cities in the entire nation and a place that millions call home. Some might even label it a safe haven while others call it a hell hole due to bad memories experienced there. Everyone has their fair share of it, putting their own spin on things as to how to view it with some more unique and complex compared to other stories.]
[Striding down one of the bustling streets, Raiden Ishimori seems to tower over most as he wears a simple black, two-piece suit with a bouquet in hands. Little care is given to the flowers as he only holds the grouping by the base as some petals fall to the ground after colliding with passing civilians. After some time, he raises it up to his chest, supporting not only the base but also the other end with his free hand as he continues to pace his way through the crowd.]
[After a lengthy walk, Raiden stops in front of the entrance to Osaka Castle Park. Longing he stares up at the entrance sign, inhaling a deep breath in time with closing his eyes and soon slowly exhaling the breath with his eyes quickly opening. Stepping inside the establishment, he quietly wanders his way over to small corner section in the northeast area of the park, his breathing almost sounding rushed as he draws closer and closer to his destination. Stopping in his tracks, his gaze meets with three bronze plaques that sit in a semi-circle with each bearing an inscription of sorts.]
"God...why did you guys have to go?"
[Raiden raises a hand to his face, his watering eyes masked by his temporary cover but the sniffling noises that accompany them remain unchained as he simply casts the bouquet into the space between the three plaques without a moment's hesitation.]
"A time when I need you guys most, you aren't here. God dammit...just why..."
[Tucking his other hand under his elbow, his hand drags down his face with his eyes being the only feature exposed as the spots below them are clearly tear stained while he looks on at the inscriptions. Closing his eyes, he lets his mind drift elsewhere, allowing him to stand alone in peace with the breeze dancing around him.]
Flashback - December 18, 2014
"Jotaro, you can't be serious about going through with what you're planning you promised me and the others that we wouldn't have to worry about anything but now look at what's happened in the past few weeks! You can't--"
"We appreciate the concern Raiden, but we'll be fine. Trust us; there's nothing to worry about. Really, there isn't any major worry."
"You can't be serious."
"Relax, man."
[Playfully, he gives Raiden a light punch to the shoulder.]
"Even if it seems like we're gone, trust us; We'll be with you regardless. Wherever, whenever.
"How can I trust you on that?"
"Jeez, you and this whole--alright, I'll bite on this one."
[Passing the bat off to his free hand, Jotaro digs into his left pocket with a contemplative expression as he feels around the interior of the fabric. After thirty or so seconds, he draws his hand back out, holding up a ring of sorts that appears to have a diamond of sorts sitting in the middle of it. Giving a slight smile, Jo tosses it over to Raiden, who nearly fumbles the catch while trying to get a firm hold of it. A wave of shock washes over him upon registering what's sitting in his hands.]
"This...this...this is the ring that Reina gave you, isn't it?"
[Jotaro simply nods in response as he rests the bat upon his shoulder.]
"The same one she gave me for being a regular at the hostess club for so long. Never really wore it that much, but I figure you make more use out of it. Use it as a good luck charm or whatever seems fitting to you."
[One of the men beside him lets out a grunt, which Jotaro nods to in response.]
"We're heading out. Remember what I said though: We're with you regardless. Whenever wherever."
[Swiveling on his heels, Jotaro leads the other two men away, leaving Raiden in a state of confusion as he continues to look over the ring given to him. His lips move in a way as if to call out to Jotaro one last time, but the words fail to leap forward. Rather than give chase, he simply turns on his heels and heads back in the direction he came from, stuffing the ring into his pocket.]
Fast forward to the present.
[His thumb and forefinger lay pinching the bridge of his nose with his head slightly tilted forward. The tears had stopped by this point, but he let the dried up streams remain rather than then wipe them clean. Taking a moment, he inhaled and exhaled several times in an effort to regain his composure. A minute...five minutes...ten minutes went by before he fully got a grip on himself once more with his head raised, eyes still staring at the collection of plaques.]
"Almost hard to believe it'll be four years since you guys left Earth and floated off elsewhere come December. I miss those days when we would just goof around in the city whether it was livening up the bars or killing time at the hostess club, but here we are now. Only one wolf from the pack remains...alone."
[Drawing his hand away from his face, he tightly balls it up into a fist, holding it against his chest.]
"Even alone...I still haven't given up hope, but very little remained of the fire that was once there. I had hoped one day that we would see something glorious together, but with you guys gone, even including Eizan and Hideo, I'm not sure if I can live up to any expectations that could get me a glorious prize or anything really special. You guys were my pillars of hope, support, family...and you all crumbled to the ground."
"However...I know one of you has at least been with me...just like you promised, right Jotaro?"
[Reaching into his shirt pocket, Raiden nimbly plucks out the same ring with its diamond still embedded in the center of it. A chuckle of contention bellows from the young man as he holds it out towards the center plaque.]
"Throughout my time wrestling thus, you've always been there Jo. You were like my older brother when we walked together in the city, and we still do, just not the way it once was. I know I always tell people I wrestle to cope with the losses, but I think you helped push me in the direction of becoming a wrestler regardless, Jo. You were practically my place to start."
"To be honest, I probably couldn't be happier for the time being with where I'm at. Wrestling in our native country in front of so many fans...it's just amazing to be out there in the ring and put on a good showing every time. Hell, I've even managed to land a venture in the States as a means of increasing my popularity. (laughing) Could almost label me an international superstar already."
[The laughter persists for a solid minute before Raiden brings himself back to the reality of the situation.]
"Look at me, talking to inanimate objects as if they bear the ability to speak themselves, but people randomly talk to ease their minds to begin with don't they? So here I am to ramble...in regards to Night of Champions that is."
[Raiden raises his head up slightly higher, peering at the blue sky.]
"XHF...I came into this umbrella company as a nobody, but according to Suzuki-san, I've made a big enough impact as is. Debut match takes place, the match ends via knockout and later I'm told I've been chosen as the person to represent Suzuki Blitz Wrestling at the event to compete for the illustrious X*Crown Championship in that match that may as well have been created by the damn devil himself."
[Raiden shakes his head at the thought of it.]
"Yet, I'm not even worried about my opponents. I know I can beat them. I know I have what it takes to become a champion whether it be in SBW or anywhere else in the XHF, I know I can do it!"
[He tightly clenches both fists, holding them slightly in front of his chest.]
"I will not allow the pressure to knock me off my feet. I'll prove the critics wrong and show them what a rookie can do. If my boss sees the potential I have in becoming champ, then so be it. I will march into Night of Champions with confidence. I will beat those other seven superstars and I will claim the strap for myself and Suzuki Blitz. There will be no stopping this lone wolf because once a wolf senses prey, it will not stop until it either submits its prey or is submitted itself...and I won't be denied that belt. Jotaro, this match is going to be dedicated to you and the rest of the pack. This is the place to start my legend as Bone Cold...the place to start the legend of The Lone Wolf of Osaka..."
[Moving forward, he unravels his right fist, the ring still in his palm. Picking up the bouquet, he nestles the ring inside the group of flowers before resting it against Jotaro's plaque. Satisfied with the final appearance, Raiden gives the plaques a respectful bow before going on his way as the camera fades to black.]
