No this isn't just a reference to a band none of you probably know nothing about. I just wanted a cool catchy title and besides it actually plays into this new thread. So i'm not sure if this has been made before or anything, but i was just curious if anyone here plays or played any instruments before? I don't mean playing on a toy flute as a kid or on one of those plastic guitar ukelayle things. I mean on real instruments in front of people (or not) but like a guitar or a tuba in band. If you have or do play real instruments what are they? how long have you played them? do you remember the first song you played on them? do you still play? If so why? and if not why did you stop/quit? Also if you quit what was the last song you played?
I'll start things off in this post as well to save time.
The first instrument i learned how to play was the Viola. I started in the 4th grade way back when wwecw was alive and obama was all the rage for being the first black president. I played throughout all of school from 4th to 12th grade as well. So... about 8 or 9 years playing the viola. My first song was actually "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and my last song was "Unravel" By TK From Ling Tosite Sigure. I can provide video evidence of my final performance. It's on my old schools facebook actually, haha. I was never the best at it but the viola and orchestra gave me allot of good times and experiences. I remember when i first started, it was only me and like 5 other kids. Me and another kid were the only two violas in the class. Then i eventually went to middle school. We did a thing there where we played at a hospital every year for christmas and it was cool and fun. Getting to see that we made some folks happy, even with our (bad at times) playing.
In highschool we i got to go on some of my only fieldtrips because of orchestra too. I even got to go to St. Louis about two years ago which was awesome and fun. I learned allot and allot of fun because of the viola and even though i quit playing i still have a place in my heart for that thing! I quit mainly because i never bought one for home. Plus the music i want to ply isn't on the viola. So i'm done for now playing it.
The other instrument i learned was the guitar. Which i learned about two years ago. the first song i learned on it was "Free Fallin'" By the late great Tom Petty. I learned many other songs and had many great experiences in guitar. I've been playing for about 2ish years now as well. I had allot of fun in school playing and learning guitar and am currently learning a few songs now. The last song i played in/for school was a metal version of "In The Hall Of The Mountain Kings". I really love guitar and have fun with it too.
I also kinda try to sing and write my own songs too. I have a few songs finished and allot in the works, haha.
