The end of season one....
Wow guys. I am humbled; greatly so.
In December of 2016 I came out of hiding and pitched an idea to a group of XHF originals who I had been able to get in contact with. I took advantage of two of them, knowing they were too nice to say no and made them admins. The idea was crazy and stupid and probably wouldn't work.
And here we are; on the anniversary month of the original XHF opening (July 9th 2001) (not my version but still) and the board is hopping, alive, filled with life and we're a family- one with many new members and old alike. And the idea succeeded. My goal was to make a place where efedders could go and hang out together as a community. With feds coming and going as the tides of fedding do but without losing everyone to the ether as tends to happen. I wanted to create a place for my friends that wouldn't die if I had to leave or take time off- and I'm confident to say that you guys don't need me. Which is a weird thing to be happy about, lol.
Night of Champions was a great success; all the shows have been and I am immensely proud of all that we've done this last year or so of activity. Now everything is laid out and we know what we're doing every year and how to handle things (for the most part). it has been a crazy ride but it is only the beginning.
And so begins season two...
With Night of Champions finished, the feds will be starting the new season of awesome wrestling entertainment we're already known for and with that comes a few changes and announcements!
First of all, Harry made a recommendation that because the feds are hard to navigate but it's still nice to get a look at everything at a glace (especially for newer members) that we have a centralized card area. Already we have implemented that idea but I hope all the feds follow suit. How it works is this: put up your card in your fed as normal. Then copy and past it here: xhf09.proboards.com/board/33/xhf-network-event-cards It's that simple.
Second, mega props to Kanyon for running point on Night of Champions and making it his own. I'm pretty sure not running shows was one of the conditions Kanyon and DT made when we first launched the Network and I conned them into admining. But guess what? Kanyon took NoC and DT has graciously volunteered to run point on End of Days! And he's already got a vision for it so you can start working with him if you have ideas.
Speaking of upcoming global PPVs..... Since we've tacked down the four official shows this last year we can announce the schedule for next year right away!
Sept 30: End of Days Night 1
Oct 7: End of Days Night 2
Oct 14: End of Days Night 3
Oct 21: End of Days Night 4 (that's like what, the semifinals?)
Oct 28: End of Days Finals (PPV)
January 27 2019: Supremacy
April 28 2019: The Rumble
July 28 2019: Night of Champions 10
And speaking of End of Days..... So last year what we did was let the active feds (haha, AWF [TGK was just warming up then]) latch on to the shows if they wanted to; that way things were so overloaded. So two of the nights were hosted by AWF and they also treated the finals as a sort of ppv. This offer is again open and I highly recommend it.
Keep in mind, every active fed will probably have people in the tournament. This means that they can work lighter schedules in order to give those handlers more chance to focus on advancing. Since most of the EoD cards are like 4 matches, plus a fed's lighter match set (should they choose) it can be a really banging show. This also helps showcase the feds and shows a sort of unity within the Network. More practically, it helps spread the workload around. Everyone involved last year will tell you that EoD is hard and is a somewhat grueling pace- but it's a lot of fun and you come out feeling good even how.
ALSO! If you don't have experience writing matches, End of Days is a great opportunity! The tournament matches are all singles matches; which are generally the easiest to write and with so much going on we'll need all the help we can get. But what would you want to start writing? Match writing helps your general writing a lot; it can improve how you do descriptions and stuff. Furthermore, being a match writer is like being a graphics guy- if you can contribute to making the fed run well it automatically makes you a star. Plus most feds will choose writers to be admins when they need it. Match writing is a great skill in feds and you gotta start somewhere!
Concluding remarks....
Guys, we had an awesome season one. All of you who have helped build this Network have my humblest gratitude. Be you originals, new guys, not-new-anymore guys, or guys who just joined last week. This is yours. The Network is community driven for the community. And it wouldn't have been anything more than a crazy dream without you.
And if season two is anything like season one was then I'm buckled up and ready for a spectacular time with you!
Rock on guys!
