The scene opens up outside The Bethesda VFW in Ohio, in just a few days, Maverick goes one on one for the last time against Seth Dillinger for the State of Ohio Championship. Then, a few days later, at Global Dominance in The XHF Arena... A match that is one year in the making, a match that no one would think it can happen, a match where Maverick's abilities will be tested, his mental state will be corrupted in, his talent will be shown, Maverick vs Jack Diamond. But, stakes were raised to the roof when Jack dropped the bomb of putting his X*Crown Championship up for grabs, then another bombshell was dropped when the match was made to be an Xtreme Elevation Match. Just when Maverick's chances of winning couldn't get any slimmer, they just disappeared. Maverick sits in his Audi R8, across the road from the VFW itself. Then another car pulls up, a Range Rover of all cars to pull up beside Maverick and his brand new Audi R8. The door to the Range Rover swings open, and out comes Jack Fuckin' Diamond himself. He walks around his Range Rover and stops at the driver's side of Maverick's Audi. Maverick takes his seat belt off and gets out of the car, the last time these two faced each other in a situation like this was when Jack accepted Maverick's challenge. Jack, dressed up in a three-piece suit, gives a smirk as Maverick, who is wearing a tracksuit and a sweatshirt, nervously gets out of his car.
Jack Diamond: Hello, Mav.
Maverick: Jack.
Jack Diamond: I thought that we could have one last chat before we go our separate ways for this match, I wouldn't want to get into your head more by constant meet-ups at The Lounge if you get what I'm saying.
Maverick: I understand. So, you want a drink?
Jack Diamond: I wouldn't mind one right now.
Maverick: I- I'll meet you at The Lounge then.
Jack Diamond: I was expecting a bar, somewhere local, away from everyone and everything.
Maverick: Y- Yeah, sure. I think there's a bar down the road, I'll meet you down there.
Jack Diamond: Yeah, sure. I'll race you down there.
Jack cracks up a laugh, Maverick cannot help but smile. If there was one person who knew how to make him smile, it was always Jack.
Maverick: Come on, let's go.
Jack Diamond: That's the spirit!
Maverick hops back into his car, as Jack does the same. Jack is the first to pull out onto the road, followed by Maverick as the scene fades out. It fades back in at a local bar not too far from the VFW. Jack orders himself a bottle of Jack Bailey's finest whiskey, Maverick orders himself a Bud Light. The bar is empty, but both Jack and Maverick sit at a table, enjoying their drink.
Maverick: How the fuck do you drink whiskey?
Jack Diamond: I don't.
Maverick: You what?
Jack Diamond: I don't drink whiskey.
Maverick: Why in god's fucking name did you buy that then?
Jack Diamond: Because I have seen people talking about me and Whiskey.
Maverick: And...
Jack Diamond: I want to try it.
Maverick: Well then, down a shot of that goodness in you and see how you feel!
And Jack literally takes it like a shot, his face tells a story... of pure disgust. Maverick just sits there laughing at Jack. Jack just slaps Maverick across the arm.
Jack Diamond: Not funny, mate.
Maverick: It is when I tell the barman to find one that's been laying in the storeroom for months.
Jack just looks at Maverick with disgust and Maverick keeps on laughing. He finishes up his beer and stands up, ready to leave the bar.
Maverick: Jack... Fuck Money!
Maverick walks out with Jack looking at him with a smirk on his face, he gets in his Audi R8 and drives off as the scene fades to black.

The scene opens up to a flashback, back to nearly one year ago. The company is Icon Championship Wrestling. At a show called Shattered Reflection, where the story of Jack Diamond and Maverick truly began. After such an intense match, Jack makes the pinfall...

Scarlett LaDawn: Here are your winners and NEW ICW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!! Jaaaaaack DIIIIAMMONDDDD and MAAAAAVVEEERRRICK!!!!!
"Everyone knew, they all knew. Who was going to win from the start? Jack and Maverick. Come on, the kid is going to be carried to his first title!"
"I know that, but hear me out."
"What do I need to hear? More bullshit?"
"I do what is best for business. Jack is my top star and he always will be."
"Jack is nothing without the title he holds, if he was never champion, he wouldn't be the pretty boy of this fucking company!"
The scene re-opens up backstage of Shattered Reflection, Maverick is awaiting his taxi to head for the airport, Jack comes up from behind and places his hand on Maverick's shoulder, Maverick looks at Jack as Jack looks back at him with a smile.
Jack Diamond: Hey, you did well out there. Let me take you to the airport, a treat just from me.
Maverick: Jack. You don't have to.
Jack Diamond: No, Mav. Please... let me.
Maverick stands there to think about it, then grabs his phone and calls up the taxi to cancel it and turns to Jack.
Maverick: Where's your car?
Jack Diamond: Over there. See the Range Rover?
Maverick: Yeah?
Jack Diamond: That's not it.
Maverick: Where is it then?
Jack starts to chuckle as Maverick continues to look confused.
Jack Diamond: It's the Range Rover, the car is unlocked. Put your bags in.
Maverick walks over to the Range Rover as the scene cuts back to the Present Day

Maverick sits at home, no TV turned on, no music playing, it's just silence. He sits there on his own, Hanna is over in Japan wrestling for Sakura Shoujo Stampede on her first professional wrestling match. She's only had less than two months training but she's learned a lot in those two months. The look on Maverick makes him seem like he's thinking of something. Something is on his mind, and he's starting to overthink. He grabs the glass of water on the coffee table and takes a gulp out of it.
Maverick: The Iconic Prince. The Mastermind. The Leader. That's what the three Icons that you see every night are. You have myself being "The Iconic Prince", Bobby is "The Mastermind" and Jack being "The Leader" or some would say The Ringleader, depending if you actually saw Night of Champions Nine. That's where he won back... That X*Crown Championship. That exact title that I have the privilege of battling for, not in one of those stupidly dumb match-types at the Global PPVs, but in a One on One match. Of course, the match was made into an Xtreme Elevation match, a dumb idea but I had to accept it just to make myself and Jack get the Main Event. "You can have the ME, if you agree on myself picking the match type" I had to say yes. I want this to be my moment.
He takes another gulp from his glass of water before placing it back on the coffee table.
Maverick: Not that my moment is beating Jack, the guy I have been in the shadow of for the last year, but my moment of actually facing Jack. It's something I wanted for so long. Of course, facing Bobby to finally end what we started in ICW was the initial plan but... I want to wait a bit longer for that, I want the time to be right. Jack Diamond, I... myself... am doubting the possibility of beating you. I mean, if we are trying to be serious here. I have no hope! This is not my playing field! The ring does, has, and always will belong to Jack Diamond, the fucking Ace! You're not just "The Ace of Spades" but "The Ace" of the entire XHF Network. The Rumble was where we saw the real Jack Diamond. The one who was ICW World Heavyweight Champion for so fucking long, that never lost the belt. The Jack Diamond... that I have been hiding in the shadow of.
Maverick lays back in his chair, taking a deep breath.
Maverick: You. You were always The Guy. You were always The Man. Whether it was your run in ICW, being the World Heavyweight Champion, Shooting Star Champion, or even being Tag Team Champion with... me. That night. I, still, was hiding in your shadow. You carried me to my first Championship, but, six months later and I carried myself to my own Championship win. Where were you? Just coming back from an injury. Actually, the same night I won that title... You started the show with your comeback to wrestling. That, Jack, may have been the only time in my career where I wasn't in your shadow. After that, it was back to business as usual. I went right back into the shadow of Jack Diamond! I may have beaten MGK but I didn't prove anything with that. He didn't show any fight so I had no choice but to be victorious, and he was never seen again. I beat Bobby Barratt and Brad Swann! But, once again... in your shadow. you walked right into The Legion that night and said: "I'm the Ref!"
Maverick sits up and picks up his glass of water and finishes it with one last gulp before walking into the kitchen to refill the glass. Once refilled, he leans against the kitchen-top counter and holds the glass in his left hand, his right arm crossed.
Maverick: It's an ongoing thing. Being in your shadow. Being the guy "they" never talk about. When the words "The Icons" run out of anyone's mouth... They think either Bobby Barratt and... you guessed it... Jack Diamond. What am I remembered for? Oh, drawing two championship matches in a row and then losing the final rematch, holding the old State of Ohio Championship, being the guy Jack carried to a Tag Team belt. Also, hitting a moonsault from the top of a ladder in the ring to a downed and out Seth Dillinger that lays outside the ring. But, that's not the point. I can tell from you, and I can tell from Bobby. You both, have no faith in me. You know I can put up a fight but that's it! When did I last win? Three or four months ago? What did I lose in those three to four months? I lost matches, I lost the State of Ohio Championship, I nearly lost my spot in The Icons. I lost it all. You in the last three to four months? Runner-up in The XHF Rumble, beat Rob Arnold to win The X*Crown, lost the title to someone who was a Dead Man Walking, won back those eighteen titles in the Four Ring Circus, beat Copycat and then started this gimmick that involves you spending money like it's paper you wipe the shit off your ass with. Need I say any more? You are a living legend. A true king of the sport of Wrestling.
Maverick takes a gulp of water and then splashes the nearly filled glass back into the sink, he dries up the glass and puts it into the cupboard. Maverick walks back into the living room but doesn't take a seat, but decides to stand behind the sofa. He leans on the sofa, his hands getting pushed into the cushions of the sofa.
Maverick: But... All kings, eventually get replaced. The prince is usually the one to take his place on the throne. You, Jack, are The Iconic King. I, Maverick, am The Iconic Prince. Which means, it is my duty to take your place once the time comes. And, it may not be the right time, but I want that time to be at Global Dominance. Jack, I asked for one friendly bout, I asked for a good old friendly match, Icon vs Icon. But, I know... once those stakes were raised. I'm not going to be playing around with you, I am going to have to put up my best fight. I have to train like you, be like you... to beat you. To be the man, you have to beat the man and to beat the man, you have to act like the man. But, I'm just a boy. Someone who only debuted in this sport a year ago. You have been wrestling for years and years and years. So, can the boy become the man? Can the prince become the king? Only to try and beat... The Man.
Maverick stands up straight and looks around the room, cracking his knuckles in the process.
Maverick: Jack, I am ready. Ready to step out of your shadow and ready to bring a fight you may not have expected. I am going to enter that cage, climb my way up to the top and take The X*Crown, even if it is the last thing I do. You know I can deal with falling from heights, you watched me dive from the top of a ladder to outside the ring, out on the concrete. You watched me spear someone from the top of a ladder to the ring canvas, you watched me fall from a ladder onto some steel steps. Throw me off, I dare you. But, I will be right back up. Ready and poised to strike down fear onto you. I am un-kill-able. Unstoppable. And at Global Dominance, Jack... Unbeatable.
Fade to black.
