“Where are you going? You can’t leave.”
We open up on the inside of the training center for PPW. There’s no one there but Kris Quake, who is leaving and Randy Angel who is chasing after him. Everything is boxed up and marked ‘XHF Headquarters.’ Quake turns around and addresses his now former tag team partner.
“I’m going home. The place has been archived. There’s nothing left for me.”
“What do you mean? There’s plenty here for you in the XHF.”
“I wasn’t in the XHF I was in Premier Pro Wrestling. I didn’t come back to be a part of the network I came back to be in a place where I didn’t have to do shit and could still win titles.”
“This doesn’t sound like you Kris. You always say I didn’t do shit and you won titles.”
“That’s right, I did all the work, but I still didn’t have to do shit, you know, like cut promos or do work outside of the ring. I just had to walk out there and win. So I’m taking my two belts and hanging up my boots and going home. I’ve got enough money to get me by for a few months then I guess I’ll get a job with Johnny at Whole Foods.”
“Whole Foods? No way, anyway you can’t leave, you have a match.”
“What?”
“You have a match.”
“How could I have a match? Mongo dropped the archive hammer on PPW. All we are now is replayable matches on the network.”
“I signed you up for a match on the next End of Days show.”
“What?!?! Why would you do that?”
“Because you seemed to sad that PPW closed down and I just wanted to make you happy. Guess what, I’m in the match too.”
“Why would that make me happy?”
“Because we’re best friends.”
“We’re not best friends. I’m not even sure I would call what we are to each other friends. In fact, the only positive about this situation is that I may be able to punch you in the face for putting me in this situation to begin with.”
“That’s the spirit, find the silver lining in everything, but I lied to you just now, I signed up my brother not me.
“I hate you. If I don’t get paid for this it won’t be enough.”
“You’ll get paid. At least I think you might get paid, maybe.”
Kris Quake stares at Randy, Randy smiles, and Kris walks away.
