He lays in bed tossing and turning as he tries to get comfortable, the sweat rolling down his face as the heat blast through the tiny room. He keeps playing the conversation through his head that he had earlier in the week with his parole officer Jason Miller. He just can't get the thought of Homie getting jumped by anyone, especially by more than one person. As he tries to get some sleep he can hear the sounds of lower Bristol's nightlife running about.
He keeps trying to figure out why they would want to jump Homie especially to hurt him bad enough to put him in a coma. The entire stint he spent behind bars at the Walls with Homie he never once heard anyone say a bad word about or to Homie. He just can't shake the feeling that there's more to it than he knows. He really hasn't slept the last two nights and his appetite hasn't been the same either. He made an appointment with his parole officer over here in Bristol so he can try and find out some more on his friend and see what his options are.
He lays there for a while longer trying to get to sleep but still has no luck he just tosses and turns as his mind races. He sits up tossing the sheet off of him as he places his feet onto the cold hardwood floor. He stands up and heads over to the window where there is a small window air conditioning unit. He decides to turn it on medium for the night as he figures if it's cooler in the room he may be able to get a little bit of sleep before dawn.
He sits on the edge of the bed resting his head in his hands as he waits for the room to start cooling down hoping to drift off to sleep. As he sits there he realizes he knows someone who may be able to help him find out a little more about what's going on with Homie. He jumps up and rushes over to his wallet reaching inside and grabbing CO David Richards business card. As he heads back over to the bed he grabs his cell phone and begins to dial the number.
The phone rings a few times before a man answers it...
David Richards
Hello!
Eric Chronister
Hey is this CO David Richards?
David Richards
Yeah, yeah it is, may I ask who this is and how you got my private number?
Eric Chronister
Sorry about this, of course, this is Eric Chronister. We met a few weeks ago at "The Walls" I use to be an inmate there but I was recently released and I am now working for a professional wrestling company. When we met I was visiting a friend of mine Aaron Ortiz and you gave me your number we met at the local Irish pub and said I could call if I ever needed anything.
The line goes quiet for a second.
David Richards
Ah, I remember Eric, no sweat my man, I saw you at the End of Days tournament thanks for the first round tickets. You did great man to bad you lost to Barratt but he's one bad mother. So how can I help you?
Eric Chronister
Thanks, well it's a bit personal but I don't want to get you in trouble either. My buddy Homie, well Aaron he was jumped at the prison last Sunday and well he's in a coma. I was hoping you might know what went down.
David Richards
I see yeah, Mr. Ortiz isn't one of the guys we associate as a troublemaker or someone to watch. So it was a shocker when that went down. All I know is apparently he owed some money to someone and couldn't pay it and they collected.
He slams his fist down on the nightstand next to the bed as he tries to hold in his anger.
Eric Chronister
Do you know who, how much, what for anything?
David Richards
Sorry, man, but I don't with Mr. Ortiz in a coma we have no one to tell us. You know how it is no one talks to the police and no one narcs on anyone. So it's been a bitch to get any information on what went down.
Eric Chronister
Hey here's my number can you give me a call or a text if anything would come up or you find anything out. I'm working for Pro Wrestling Alpha now so I will make it worth your while.
David Richards
Isn't that the new company that just signed on with the XHF Network, man they're all the way in the United Kingdom aren't they?
He gives a small chuckle as he finds the comment funny.
Eric Chronister
Yeah, it is it's like 2:44 in the morning right now and I just can't sleep so I figured I would call you and see if you could help me out.
David Richards
No problem, so what happened to SBW or are you like a free agent working for multiple companies?
Eric Chronister
No, I signed a pretty good deal with Pro Wrestling Alpha and as far as SBW we parted ways on great terms.
David Richards
That's always a good thing, leaves the door open if you ever want to go back.
Eric Chronister
Yeah it does well I'm going to get off of here please text me or call me if you find anything out. I will make it worth your time I promise.
There's a silent pause as both men try to figure what to say next.
David Richards
Well I'm not supposed to talk to anyone outside of work about anything work related but I know how close you two are so yeah, but you owe me, man, you owe me BIG!!!
Eric Chronister
Cool, cool and no problem just let me know what you want whenever you find out what I need to know. Peace out man.
He hangs up and lays the phone down as he lays his head down on his pillows. His mind finally at a place of rest to maybe get a bit of sleep.
