He walks into the small Thai restaurant, takes a look around as he smells the aroma of the wonderful food. His stomach growls as he stands there tired and sore from his battle just an hour or so earlier in the night with Steven Wright. He finds a small single table over in the far corner with little light in hopes he can get some peace and quiet so he can eat and rest as his adrenaline is still rushing through his body.
While sitting there he places his cell phone on the table next to him as he needs to make his weekly report to his parole officer soon. A small, thin Thai looking waitress with an English accent walks over hands him a menu and lays down a set of silverware and a glass of ice water as she walks away.
He takes a long gulp of the ice cold water and takes a quick look at the menu when he stops instantly as he sees Massaman Curry and Pad Thai he waves at the small waitress who makes her way over and takes his order. As he waits for his food he dials the number for his parole officer when he finally answers he begins to check in.
Eric Chronister
Hello, Mr. Miller, it's Eric Chronister, I am doing my weekly check-in.
Jason Miller D.O.P.
Ah, yes, Mr. Chronister, it's good to see your on time this week. So If I am correct you had your match yesterday. How did you do?
Eric Chronister
Well, it was tonight for me but yeah it went well I won and had no problems.
He sits there looking around as he takes a drink of his ice water and watches a few big guys walk through the door.
Jason Miller D.O.P.
That's what I like to hear Mr. Chronister, it's always a good sign to see a parolee doing well and on the right track. I can take it this job will be long term then.
Eric Chronister
Oh, of course, I do not plan on going to any other company. I am dedicated to PWA and will do my best to make a career with them and a life in Bristol sir.
Jason Miller D.O.P.
Great, were you able to get ahold of the Correctional Officer about your friend Aaron Ortiz and find anything out?
Eric Chronister
no, sir, I called but got an answering machine or voicemail so I will call again in a day and see if I can reach him. So please keep trying if you can and will.
The men seem to be staring over at him as he sits there talking on his cell phone. He notices them staring but doesn't let them know that he is aware of it. The small waitress brings him his food and his drink and places it in front of him as he talks on the phone. He thanks her as she walks away.
Jason Miller D.O.P.
Of course Mr. Chronister, I will continue to look into this for you as long as you continue to obey the laws and do what your suppose to do. So stay out of trouble, report-in on time every week and keep a job pay your bills and just be a contributing member of society and everything will be okay.
Eric Chronister
Oh, absolutely no worries I have changed and will not go back to prison.
Jason Miller D.O.P.
Well, Mr. Chronister, I hope you don't but time will only tell. I will look forward to your next call stay out of trouble and have a good day.
Eric Chronister
Good day to you to sir.
He hangs up his cell phone and digs into the Massaman Curry as he can hear his stomach growling from hunger. He smiles as the taste is amazing he loves Thai food and this is some of the best he has ever had especially since it's the first he has had in over a decade well real Thai food. As he chows down on his curry and Pad Thai he notices the guys start to get a bit agitated and start to point over towards him. He can tell they are talking about him and planning something, but he doesn't let it bother him as he continues to eat and just sets his senses to prison yard mode.
He finishes the Massaman Curry and begins to finish up the Pad Thai as the waitress brings him a refill of his lemonade and another ice water as the Curry is a bit spicy. She looks over and also notices the rather large and extremely agitated looking men and looks down at him and gives him a nervous look as she lays down the check and walks away. He just continues to eat as he enjoys the food he tries to put his mind in a place of ease but it's not easy after the night he has had with Anguish coming out after his match and then these guys looking like they want to start something.
He finishes his food and his drink as he wipes his mouth he places his cell phone in his pocket as he pulls out a few bucks to pay for the food and to tip the waitress he lays it down on the table. He heads towards the door where he is intercepted by the group of large men who don't seem to want him to leave.
Man #1
Where do you think you going?
Eric Chronister
Home, so excuse me I don't want any trouble.
He tries to walk past the men but they refuse to let him go, one of the men putting his hand on him doesn't sit well with him. he stops and backs up and starts to think as he observes the situation as his adrenaline begins to rush through him.
