Skillet's "The Resistance" fills the packed main hall of the Swindon Oasis leisure complex, just over 1800 fans in attendance cheer for a small pyro display that goes off on the main stage.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Ladies and gentlemen welcome to Swindon and welcome to PWA Adrenaline!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
I thought we were gonna be in the swimming pool...
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
I don't doubt that for a second, Dave. Coming up tonight Colin Walker looks to build on his impressive start he made against Mr. America two weeks ago, but it won't be easy - he'll be facing Anguish in our main event tonight!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
I can't even begin to imagine for one second that Walker's going to pick up his first win against Anguish. The man's an eighteen-year veteran, and Walker has only had one match! Why is he even in the main event?
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
PWA takes pride in giving all competitors the chance to shine across the card, Dave! And you can't argue that Colin Walker doesn't deserve this after how he performed in his debut match. Also to come tonight, we'll be getting the FULL details from commissioner Eddie Mason regarding the crowning of the first-ever PWA World champion!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
I can't wait to find out when and how Anguish is going to capture the gold!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
We have eight regular competitors on our roster, Dave, it's not just Anguish you know? Any one of them could walk away with that title! And if you- oh, hang on... I'm just getting word that something's going on in the backstage area. We're going to cross over there now and see what's happening!
We cut abruptly to the 'backstage' area behind the scenes in the Oasis and find Justice Legal. He has a handful of some young PWA staffer's polo shirt and is holding him against a wall.
Justice Legal:
Where is he? Where's his office?
The nervous staffer points with a shaking finger.
Justice Legal:
Don't just point! Take me!
He aggressively releases the terrified staffer, who leads him past numerous doors until they eventually arrive at a door bearing a small sign reading 'OFFICE. Please knock and wait.'.
Legal looks at the sign and sneers, barging his way right into Eddie's office. Eddie is on the phone, the interruption causes him to look up at Legal.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
Hold on, I'll call you back. Alright Legal, what is it?
Justice Legal:
Are you stupid or something? One of YOUR refs screwed me over on the last show and you ain't done NOTHING about it.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
Well I can understand your frustration, but why didn't you come and see me at the time?
Justice Legal:
You think I just sat on my arse waiting 'til tonight? I looked for you and you wasn't about.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
Well I'm sorry you couldn't find me, but I must have been somewhere in the arena. I've had a hell of a lot of work to do getting these shows off the ground. So what do you propose we do to rectify your situation?
Justice Legal:
I want that decision overturned! Disqualify Mechanic and give me the win!
Eddie puts a hand up and shakes his head.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
No, that's not going to happen. Referee's decision is final, I can't go about changing the results of matches that happened two weeks ago.
Justice Legal:
Then give me Mechanic. Tonight!
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
No can do again, I'm afraid. Mechanic is already booked to wrestle tonight.
Legal is furious. He slams his hands down on the desk and looms over Eddie.
Justice Legal:
This is bullshit! You're all in on it, trying to screw me over! Maybe I should just take it out on you then?
Eddie is inwardly anxious with the angry Londoner bearing down above him, but he's experienced. This isn't the first time he's been threatened by a wrestler. He keeps a neutral expression as he meets Legal's piercing glare.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
You see this sort of hot-headedness is what got you in trouble in the first place. As much as I agree that Harry Mason stepped out of line by fast-counting you, after you put your hands on an official then as far as I'm concerned you deserved it.
But if you want a fight, then I'll give you someone to fight. Get your arse down to that ring, because you're about to go one-on-one with Steven Wright.
Justice Legal:
I don't want Wright, I want-
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
You'll get Mechanic some other time. But you've come in here making accusations that the PWA staff aren't doing their jobs - are you going to go out there and do yours?
Legal glares at Eddie across the desk, his nostrils flare in anger but he eventually relents, slamming the door as he leaves the office and the shot cuts back to the commentary team.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
This is ridiculous! Harry Bates intentionally fast-counts a wrestler's shoulders down and when that wrestler speaks up about it, Eddie not only refuses to take action against the referee but he actually punishes the victim!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
I wouldn't say telling a wrestler to go and wrestle is really a punishment Dave.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
But what about Eddie blowing off Justice Legal's complaint? A legitimate complaint!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
You might have a point there, but I'd argue that this sets a precedent - you don't put your hands on an official, period. Legal grabbed Harry Bates first and Bates reacted, rightly or wrongly, when he did what he did.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
It just doesn't sit right with- hold on, Harry Bates is coming down to referee this match! How is this even allowed!?
Sure enough, Harry Bates is jogging down the aisle. As he gets to the ring, the lights dim and Tool's 'Sober' begins to play.
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
The following contest is set for one fall. Introducing first from London, weighing 245 pounds - the @insane Homicidal One' Justice Legal!
Legal steps through the curtain and onto the large stage surrounded by video screens, still seething from his interaction with Eddie Mason moments ago. He powers down the aisle, high-fiving one guy on the front row holding a "LEGAL WAS SCREWED" sign and slides into the ring, heading straight for Harry Bates who backs off into the corner.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
I wonder if Eddie Mason booked Harry Bates to ref this match to try and go some way towards putting things 'right' with Justice Legal? If that's the case though, it looks like the plan may have hit a snag!
Legal advances on Bates, pointing a finger at him and grinning as he tells him that it was a mistake to put the two of them in the ring together.
The crowd pop as Steven Wright's theme hits and he rushes out onto the stage, sprinting down the ramp and sliding into the ring.
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
And his opponent, from-
Legal turns and Wright immediately lays into him with a flurry of fists. Harry Bates doesn't even bother trying to keep them apart, he calls for the bell.
---Ding ding!---
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
We're underway as Steven Wright comes out to prevent any harm befalling the referee!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
He's just trying to get in his good books and curry favour!
Legal and Wright begin the match with an intense fist fight which sees the two men pirouetting around the ring as they jockey for position, both men wrestling control of the fight away from the other but neither man able to retain the advantage for long.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Steven Wright is matching Legal blow-for-blow in the early going but the longer this goes on the more it has to favour the brawler from London!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Yeah, Wright's good with his fists and feet but his main strength is out-wrestling an opponent! Justice Legal is a lot bigger than Wright, a lot stronger, and he's a brawler.
They continue to scrap and claw around the ring, throwing fists and elbows and feet and forearms at each other as the crowd bay for blood.
Wright backs Legal into the corner and this match by now very closely resembles a boxing match, with Wright hammering blows home as Legal protects his head.
Harry Bates is forced to step in and warn Wright about hitting with a closed fist - just the opening Legal needs to fly out of the corner and take Wright down with a stiff clothesline.
The match swings hard in Legal's favour now as he sits on Wright's chest and gives back in kind with some heavy closed-fist punches. Harry Bates warns Legal about using closed fists, and gets a colourful four-letter instruction about where to go. Legal leans on Wright, choking him with a forearm and Bates gives him a five-count.
One! Two! Three! Four!
Legal lets up, but goes straight back in with the forearm choke.
One! Two! Three! Four!
Harry Bates warns Legal that he's getting dangerously close to a disqualification. Legal gets up and pushes right up into Bates, towering over him in fact, but he leaves himself open for Wright to grab him by the ankle, dump him down and turn him over for an ankle lock!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Justice Legal just needs to let his beef with Harry Bates go for more than five seconds! He was in such a great position and he threw it all away, and now he's caught up in an ankle lock from a submissions specialist!
The crowd cheer for Wright as Legal tries to crawl to safety, reaching out for the bottom rope.
Wright doesn't want to let up, but his opponent's superior strength coupled with the fact that Wright is feeling the effects of the closed fists and the choking from Legal mean that Legal is able to reach the safety of the bottom rope. Wright lets go, and he staggers back as he tries to shake the cobwebs. Legal limps slightly as he gets back to his feet.
Legal goes after Wright, who takes him down with an arm drag. It doesn't keep Legal down for long though and he comes back for another try, Wright goes for a hip toss but Legal blocks it and counters with a toss of his own. Wright is a little slower at getting up, but he rolls out of the way of a stomp and then runs off the ropes and counters a clothesline attempt with a Rock-style floatover DDT.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
A little bit more flair than we're used to seeing from Wright and he makes the cover! One! Two! Kick out by Legal!
Wright gets up, frustrated at not putting Legal away, and then shocking rushes back to the ropes and pulls off a springboard moonsault! The rotation isn't perfect, Legal manages to roll out of the way - Wright lands on his feet but staggers, and Legal is immediately up and at him with a bone-crunching Spear!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Steven Wright pays the price for deviating from his usual style and now it's Legal's turn to make the cover! One! Two! Three!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
No! Only two!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
That was three, surely!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Wright got a shoulder up!
Wright looks hurt and he holds his midsection as he gets to his feet, Justice Legal looks supremely confident as he paces after him. Legal grabs Wright, turns him round - hooks him up to set up his Justice Hammer - but Wright small packages him!
One! Two! Thr- Kick out!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Steven Wright almost stole this match right there! If Legal had hit that Jackhammer then this would be as good as over!
Legal fumes and comes back at Wright - who hits a drop toe hold and immediately starts looking for his STF finisher!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Wright going for the Mutilator! Now the ball's firmly in his court!
Justice Legal struggles, he manages to prevent Wright from linking his hands together and rolls over, pushes Wright away and then gets to his feet - he whips Wright into the corner and charges in after him.
Wright moves out of the way! Legal his the buckle and Wright turns him around, giving him a pair of chops to the chest and a throat thrust before taking a run-up looking for the Yakuza Kick...
But Legal dodges now! Wright gets his leg caught up on the top rope, and is in a precarious position!
Legal moves out into the ring as he sizes up Wright, looking for a devastating finishing move. But he spots something - coming down the ramp is The Mechanic, goading Legal and challenging him to fight him there and then.
Legal dares Mechanic to get into the ring with him - but the distraction proves fatal as Steven Wright recovers, spins him round and lifts him up into the Deathblow! Wright's Ushigaroshi cracks the back of Legal's head and Wright immediately dives on him for the cover!
One! Two! Three!
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
Here is your winner - Steven Wright!
The fans erupt with cheers as Wright comes out victorious and The Mechanic simply smiles, and turns back up the ramp. Wright grimaces as Harry Bates raises his hand.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
This is outrageous! Justice Legal was screwed again!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
There's nothing to say Mechanic can't come out here during a match...
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Why though? Why? Is he a manager? A photographer? A referee? A physio? No! He's none of those things, so he has no business being out here! He came down purely to throw Justice Legal off of his game and cost him the match! He had it won!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Well I don't disagree with you there, Justice Legal looked like he was fixing to put Steven Wright away just a few moments ago and I'm sure when his head clears he's going to be one pissed-off maniac!
The only thing we see is a top-down view over a table. On top of the table is a clipboard, with a PWA contract attached. There is no name on the cover sheet.
From off-camera there comes a voice. Deep yet soft, it speaks in an ambiguously Southern-US accent as a dirty hand flicks at the corners of the pages.
The Unknown Man:
It seems the time has come to take up arms once again. I did not ask for this, yet here it is. I was chosen.
I have here my ticket to the promised land... Well, the promised land is but a shallow illusion built on a foundation of lies and deceit.
"Alpha", they call themselves. Such an affront. Alpha? There is only one.
The grungy hand picks up the pen and another, equally rough, hand opens the contract up to the final page.
We still see no sign of a name on the paper.
The Unknown Man:
You are not the Alpha. I shall see to it that you realise this.
The hand scrawls an illegible signature on the line, and lets the pages fall flat again. The pen is tossed down and the vignette fades to black.
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
The following contest is set for one fall, introducing first from the USA and weighing 250 pounds - "Mr. America" Keith Eastwood!
"Mr. America" Keith Eastwood emerges through the curtain waving a huge American flag, to a deafening wall of boos from the Swindon fans. He walks the aisle to the ring and places the flag upright in a stand, before taking the microphone and insisting that everyone in the arena listen to his rendition of "The star-spangled banner".
Security guards walk out of the entranceway and stand either side of the ramp, as Eric Chronister slowly walks out onto the stage.
Mr. America still has control of the microphone, and he refuses to give it back to Tony Anderson.
Mr. America:
Ladies and gentlemen my opponent tonight, hailing from PRISON - Eric Chronister! And just look at the precautions we have to take in order to let this man, yes, LET this CRIMINAL indulge himself in professional wrestling! He shouldn't be free to walk the streets, he should be locked up! This wouldn't happen in America! We know how to treat law-breakers in the land of the free! We lock them up where they belong!
Chronister looks immensely pissed-off at Mr. America's introduction for him as he climbs up onto the apron and through the ropes.
Mr. America:
This man is violent,[/]i he is dangerous, he has NO PLACE in civilised society which probably explains why you people let him go freely around your pathetic little country!
Chronister eyeballs Mr. America but he doesn't take the bait. He just leans back in the corner and rolls his eyes as he waits for him to finish.
Mr. America:
Eric Chronister, you're going to learn a lesson tonight! You might think that you got away scot-free by leaving America, but tonight I'm going to make a citizen's arrest and drag you kicking and screaming back where you belong!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Can he do that? Is he allowed to extradite prisoners? Oh please tell me it's true!?
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Only one way to find out. Iain Lewis is your referee and he calls for the bell to start this matchup!
---Ding ding!---
Chronister walks out into the middle of the ring and he makes a 'come at me' gesture to Mr. America.
The masked man steps towards Chronister and throws a punch - Chronister blocks it and decks Mr America with a punch of his own. Mr America rolls out of the ring and lifts the bottom of his mask, he touches his exposed lip and notices a small bit of blood on his hand.
Iain Lewis starts to count Mr. America out, but he protests and demands that Lewis come outside the ring to speak to him.
Mr. America looks to be exchanging some heated words with the referee and gesticulating towards Chronister.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
What on Earth is going on here?
Mr. America grabs a microphone.
Mr. America:
I told you this man was violent, I came here to wrestle and the first thing he does is split my damn lip! I am not getting back in the ring with this madman! You people can all blame Eric Chronister for fighting dirty!
The crowd give him a mixed response, some boo his petulant outburst and others cheer his apparent desire to go home.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Is this guy serious?
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
He's dead serious! Eric Chronister just lamped him with a closed fist. That's worth a disqualification if you ask me!
Mr. America starts to walk up the ramp but as he sets off, the crowd cheer as Eric Chronister steps over the top rope and starts walking after him.
Chronister catches up with Mr. America, taking him by surprise as he grabs him and spins him round, then clocks him with an uppercut that almost knocks him on his back.
Mr. America staggers back down the aisle and Chronister follows, taking pot-shots at him every chance he gets and running him hard into the guard rail. Iain Lewis is back in the ring making the count for both men.
One! Two!
Chronister kicks Mr. America in the gut and then turns him round to smash his face into the barricade. Mr. America wheels away, Chronister gives chase and grabs him again - he goes to slam him against the ring post but the masked American stops himself before the contact, and runs Chronister into the steel instead.
Chronister steps back towards Mr. America - who stoops and hits him with a back body drop! Chronister slams hard onto the padding at ringside.
Three! Four!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
These two have yet to start actually wrestling, this is just a brawl right now!
Chronister gets up, Eastwood grabs his arm - Irish whip! Reversed! Chronister sends Eastwood crashing into the barriers!
The fans cheer the action as Chronister lines himself up... Big clothesline sends Mr. America up and over the top of the barricade!
Five! Six!
Chronister grabs Mr. America's head as the latter pulls himself up on the other side of the barrier - Mr. America fights back, sending a tightly-balled fist into his opponent's face. Chronister staggers, Mr. America climbs back over the guard rail, then drops him with a running neckbreaker.
Chronister gets up to his knees, Mr. America bounces his face off of the ring apron. The fans boo loudly.
Seven! Eight!
Mr. America slides back into the ring, but Chronister isn't beat and he quickly follows his opponent underneath the ropes. Mr. America gives him no time to regroup as he immediately sets about stomping his upper body. Chronister fights through the barrage, but Mr. America gets him in a double underhook lock and gives him a Butterfly DDT! He rolls Chronister onto his back and goes for a cover...
One! Two!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Kick out by Chronister!
*Both men get up to their feet and Chronister immediately sets about clubbing Mr America with overhand blows. The stockier Mr. America absorbs the blows and puts a shoulder into Chronister, driving him back into the corner. He lifts Chronister up to sit on the top buckle, then goes to climb after him - Chronister lashes out with a forearm and Mr. America drops back to the mat. A big kick from Chronister puts a bit more breathing room in between the two men - then Chronister steps up to the top rope and as Mr. America turns he leaps off with a big Tomahawk Chop!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Mr. America was looking for that signature Superplex of his but Eric Chronister counters by Walking The Line!
The crowd cheer as Mr. America goes down hard but he isn't finished - he staggers up to his feet, he turns - just in time to catch a Big Boot from Chronister!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Oh no!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
That's it! Lights Out! Chronister covers - One, two, three! He gets the win!
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
Here is your winner - Eric Chronister!
The crowd cheer as Chronister's arm is raised in victory, and Mr. America lays sprawled on the mat.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
It wasn't so much a wrestling match as a bar-room brawl but all that matters to Eric Chronister is that he picked up the win tonight!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
I don't like to admit it but Eric Chronister is a tank. He took a lot of punishment from Mr. America outside the ring and he just shrugged off that DDT of his like it was no big deal.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Both men went through a war tonight as they probably spent more time outside the ring than they did inside of it! But in the end, Eric Chronister came out on top - the next question for Chronister is can he keep this momentum going as he looks to become PWA's first-ever World champion? Join us after the break, we'll be finding out exactly when, where and how we are going to decide the fate of that title! Don't go away!
The show comes back from commercial and immediately Eddie Mason's theme hits and the crowd give him a warm welcome.
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Commissioner of PWA - Eddie Mason!
Mason walks onto the stage and waves to the fans, underneath his arm is a suspicious velvet-wrapped parcel. He walks down to the ring and climbs the steps, before taking Tony's microphone.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
How are you doing Swindon?
He gets a big cheap pop from the fans.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
Alright, so you all know why I'm out here tonight. Two weeks ago I promised you that tonight, in this very ring, I'd reveal all the details about how we are going to crown our first champion here in PWA! So first of all, with no further ado and all that, I'd like to show you all just what everybody is fighting for!
Eddie displays the velvet parcel to the crowd, and then pulls away the material to reveal the PWA World Championship belt!
The belt garners a decent reaction of its own from the fans.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
Secondly, the 'who?'. Now when I put this all together, we had exactly eight wrestlers on our roster and wouldn't you just know it but eight is the perfect amount of competitors for a championship tournament! And who doesn't love a good title tournament, am I right?
So to that end, our first-ever PWA Champion will be decided between Mr. America, Eric Chronister, Kenneth Casper, Anguish, The Mechanic, Steven Wright, Justice Legal and Colin Walker in an eight-man elimination tournament!
The crowd give a huge cheer for the announcement. After all, who doesn't like a tournament?
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
So now we know who's going to be in the tournament - and we'll get to the draw in just a moment - let me tell you when and where we will decide our champion! Over the next two shows, Adrenaline #3 and #4, we'll have four first-round matches.
The winners of those matches will compete in the semi-finals and the final PWA World championship match itself, which will take place not on an episode of Adrenaline but in PWA's second foray into the big leagues of the XHF, at the SSS Winter Festival Pay-Per-View in Japan on December 29th!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Wow, we're going to Japan to crown our champion? That's huge! Dave, are you even allowed to travel internationally?
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Why are we going to Japan? Why are we taking our guys elsewhere to crown our champion? Why not do it on Adrenaline?
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
This is a HUGE stage to play on, Dave! SSS is one of the top federations in the XHF Network. This will give PWA a lot of exposure!
As the commentators talk, Eddie sets the belt down on a podium and pulls a sheet of paper from inside his jacket.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
So now that we have the formalities covered, on to the pairings! On Adrenaline #3 we will see Mr. America take on Colin Walker, and The Mechanic will go one-on-one vs Anguish! Then on Adrenaline #4, Steven Wright will meet Kenneth Casper and Eric Chronister will clash with Justice Legal!
A graphic appears on the entrance screens to display the tournament bracket.
Eddie Mason (pwa commissioner):
Good luck to all the competitors! May the best man win, because you'll be defending that title in front of the entire Network in January at Supremacy!
Eddie's theme hits again and he takes the World title belt with him out of the ring, showing it off to the fans as he goes back up the aisle.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
What a huge series of announcements from commissioner Eddie Mason! We'll have an eight-man tournament to crown our first champion, with that champion being crowned at the Winter Festival in Japan at the end of December! And then to top it all off, the eventual champ's first title defence will come a month later at the XHF Network's flagship event, Supremacy!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
I can't wait! I guess if we're going to Japan I should probably get my passport renewed!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Uh... Yeah, you should probably get on that! You've got just over a month! Coming up next on Adrenaline - two men who could meet again in Japan in our tournament final, we've got Kenneth Casper vs The Mechanic!
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
The following contest is scheduled for one fall - introducing first from Baltimore, Maryland, USA and weighing 215 pounds - "Cold Hearted" Kenneth Casper!
Casper walks out onto the stage and sneers at the audience. He has with him, as always, his signature steel pipe.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Casper was drawn against Steven Wright in our championship tournament and although he's coming to the ring alone on this occasion - save for that steel pipe of his - you've gotta believe that his buddy Anguish is going to be very interested in their matchup in four weeks' time. If Kenneth Casper can secure his place on the card in Japan, that's going to be one less roadblock for Anguish to worry about.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Well I think Kenneth Casper has the potential to go on and win the whole thing.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Oh please. You've been all over Anguish since before the tournament was even announced. If Anguish and Casper meet in the final, I guarantee you Anguish is going to make Casper lay down for him.
Climbing into the ring, Casper swings the pipe at referee Harry Bates before going up the turnbuckle to taunt the fans.
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
And his opponent! From Detroit, Michigan, USA and weighing 185 pounds - The Mechanic!
Mechanic gets a cheer from the crowd as he comes through the curtain and performs his signature nunchuck routine with his custom pipe-made weapon.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Kenneth Casper might usually think he's at an advantage bringing his pipe to the ring with him, but Mechanic's got him covered!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
You know, these two guys have been drawn opposite each other in the tournament, like you said before they might meet again in the final - well I'm afraid that's all just a pipe dream for The Mechanic! Ha!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
That was a terrible joke.
Mechanic jogs to the ring and slides in, before going up the turnbuckle and performing and impressive backflip off the buckle.
There is a small commotion in the crowd as fans near the back turn to looks at something - a shadowy man walks out from a gap in between the bleachers.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Hey, it's that bloke again...
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
This man was seen watching from the balcony during our last show, he seemed to pay particular interest in Mr. America and Colin Walker. Evidently he's chosen to scout out this match tonight-
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Yeah but why?
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Your guess is as good as mine Dave.
---Ding Ding!---
Unaware of the Man in Black's arrival, the two wrestlers in the ring lock up. They exchange a series of holds - Mechanic gets behind Casper, Casper reverses and goes behind Mechanic. Mechanic throws Casper over his hip with a judo-inspired throw, Casper responds with an arm drag. Both men seem very evenly matched, they have an answer for everything the other tries.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Good back-and-forth to open up this match... Casper hits Mechanic with a scoop slam - but can't follow up with an elbow drop and now Mechanic takes over... Swinging neckbreaker by Mechanic and now a cover!
One! Tw- Kenneth Casper kicks out!
The Mechanic keeps the pressure on Kenneth Casper for the next couple of minutes as he backflips out of danger when Casper looks for a discus clothesline, immediately spinning and springboarding off the ropes and hitting a moonsault on his opponent, flattening him and making another pin attempt!
One! Two- Kick out by Casper!
Casper crawls to a corner and picks himself up, The Mechanic comes flying in with a running knee strike - Casper dodges, Mechanic hits the buckle hard and before he can drop to the mat, Kenneth Casper grabs him and rolls him up with a handful of tights!
One! Two! Thr- The Mechanic gets a shoulder up!
The camera cuts to an over-the-shoulder perspective behind the Man in Black, who is intently watching these two competitors.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Kenneth Casper almost stole this match right there, and when I say 'stole' I mean it literally!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
He had a hold of the tights, sure, but it ain't cheating if you don't get caught!
The momentum swings Kenneth Casper's way now as he builds on his near-fall and hits Mechanic with a single leg takedown, he stretches out the leg and then gives him a stiff kick to the hamstrings for good measure. Mechanic limps up, and Casper comes off the ropes with a flying body press. He scrambles to make the cover but suddenly Mechanic grabs him and has him in an arm bar!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Excellent counter by Mechanic to get an armbar on Kenneth Casper but can he... No- he can't get it locked in properly! Casper crawls to the ropes, Mechanic has until the count of five to release- he does- Kenneth Casper goes right back on the offensive with a forearm smash but you can tell now he's favouring that arm!
Casper is indeed cradling the right arm and he gets caught napping by Mechanic who grabs hold of it and uses it to toss Casper over his shoulder. Kenneth Casper cries out as more pain shoots up his hurt limb and Mechanic goes after him straight away - an elbow back into the face from Casper's good arm sees off Mechanic for now.
Casper leans against the ropes for support and looks out across the baying crowd... Then suddenly drops to the mat screaming and clutching his elbow.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
What the- I know Casper's hurt but that's a little bit of a delayed reaction don't you think?
Mechanic moves on Casper but the referee sends him back into the corner to check on Casper. He stoops down over the stricken man and helps him take his elbow pad off.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Looks like we're going to have a quick time-out to assess- WAIT!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
It's Justice Legal!
As the ref has his back turned Justice Legal jumps over the barricade and sneaks up behind The Mechanic... He grabs a hold of Casper's pipe and clocks him right across the back! Mechanic staggers out of the corner and Legal darts back into the crowd and Casper suddenly jumps to his feet, rushing at Mechanic and smashing him with the Heart Cracker Elbow, hitting him square in the chest with the exposed point of his elbow!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Yes! Some Justice for Legal finally!
Casper dives on top of The Mechanic to cover him...
one! Two! Three!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
No, come on!
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
The winner of the match - Kenneth Casper!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
You can't complain about that, Pat! Mechanic was the beneficiary of some dodgy refereeing last time round, it's only fair that he gets to see what it feels like to be screwed over!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Nobody jumped out of the crowd to assault Justice Legal though, he pushed the referee and the ref reacted, it had nothing to do with The Mechanic! Mechanic just got cheated out of this match!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Like I said - it's only cheating if you get caught!
Casper cradles his hurt arm - now feeling just that little bit more sore after it was used as a weapon to obtain the victory - and referee Harry Bates raises his left arm. Mechanic is motionless on the mat, yet to come back to his senses.
The screen now shows the two commentators at their desk.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Well the record books will only remember one thing and that's the fact that Kenneth Casper does go down as your winner in this contest, but while the history books may not record it I am pretty sure the Mechanic will remember the contribution Justice Legal made to this match. I can only assume that Kenneth Casper must have seen Legal coming through the crowd, put two and two together and then feigned a more serious injury to make sure the referee was distracted while Legal interfered.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
In this industry you have to do whatever it takes to make sure you get the win. Nothing else matters, Pat. I don't blame Casper for taking that advantage when it presented itself.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Well I can't say I blame him either, it just doesn't sit right with me.
We cut to the locker room backstage, and we see Mr. America sitting down on a bench removing his boots. He has a towel across his shoulders, and his mask still firmly affixed to his head.
Steven Wright:
So that Eric Chronister's tougher than he looks, right?
Mr. America looks up as Steven Wright walks into the shot, Wright is now changed back into his regular clothes.
Steven Wright:
Well I got news for you - it's gonna be even tougher to come out on top of the championship tournament. Especially if you're gonna try and weasel out of a match because you got punched in the face.
Mr. America stands up and towers over Wright.
Mr. America:
Says the guy who just scraped past Justice Legal because of interference?
Steven Wright:
Says the guy who still owes you a receipt after what you did at End Of Days.
Mr. America's laugh is muffled underneath his mask.
Mr. America:
Look at you. You're just like your country - weak and pathetic compared to the United States! You think you can beat me? If you're lucky then you might get a chance to take me on for the championship but you're going to find yourself on the wrong side just like your ancestors did in 1776! Your country has made a habit of relying on the United States for help, well there won't be anyone left to help you when you're staring down the barrel of an all-American-made six shooter!
The two men remain nose-to-nose in a staredown as we transition back to the ring.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Are you ready Pat? It's main event time! Let's see if we can set a new record for the fastest squash ever!
The triumphant strains of "Entrance of the Gladiators" play Colin Walker to the ring as he acts the fool for the fans, cartwheeling across the stage and walking along the ringside barricade as if it were a tightrope.
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
The following contest is scheduled for one fall - approaching the ring from London, weighing 169 pounds - Colin "Sky" Walker!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Colin Walker had an impressive debut two weeks ago against Mr. America, he didn't manage to get the win but he apparently impressed management enough to earn himself a spot in tonight's main event!
Walker performs more acrobatic tricks in the ring, as the lights go out and an ominous 'DONG' is heard.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Anguish's 'dong' always gives me the chills, Pat! I love it!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Might want to think about what you're about to say before you say it sometimes...
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
And his opponent from Manchester... Accompanied to the ring by Kenneth Casper and weighing 247 pounds - Anguish!
Anguish roars as he steps through the curtain, flanked by pillars of fire and lit up by the strobing effect of the arena lights. The fans boo as he powers down the ramp, an utterly intimidating sight.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
You know Colin Walker was here in this building the other day. He said he wanted to get a feel for the place, try to imagine what it might look like when the stage and ring are all set up. Well now he knows, he's right in the middle of it with Anguish heading right for him, and you better believe it's worse than he could have ever imagined it.
Stepping over the top rope, Anguish turns towards his opponent ands simply smirks.
Iain Lewis is the referee for this contest and he makes sure the competitors are set and rings the bell.
---Ding Ding!---
Skywalker immediately comes flying out of the gate and shocks Anguish with a double-footed dropkick to the knees to take him straight down to the mat. The fans roar with approval and Skywalker repeats his dropkick, Anguish gets up to his knees - swinging neckbreaker to the big man!
Walker has his foot firmly on the gas - hits a standing moonsault! He runs to the ropes and does a handspring into yet another impressive moonsault - Anguish gets his knees up - Walker spots it, reacting with lightning reflexes and pushes off against the knees, landing on his feet the other side of Anguish. Anguish gets up - big spinning heel kick rocks him! Anguish staggers into the ropes and Walker charges, grabs him, hits a Dudley Dog and slams Anguish to the mat!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Holy- can you believe it!? Coling Walker imposing himself on this match from the word 'go' and he drops Anguish with The SkyWalker! This could be all over now as he makes the cover!
Iain Lewis drops to count-
One!
TWO!
THR- No!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Anguish gets a shoulder up to stay alive in this match but Colin Walker's not done yet as he goes up to the top rope! Big missile dropkick takes the big man from Manchester down again!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
I can't believe what I'm seeing!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Believe it, Dave! This is happening!
Walker amps himself up and gets the fans on his side, the noise is deafening as Anguish staggers up once again... Skywalker flies and smashes into him with a huge running knee!
Anguish is reeling from the repeated blows but still he lumbers up to his feet, Skywalker rushes off the ropes again - Anguish gets a boot up and kicks him in the gut, doubling him up to a tremendous amount of booing.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
I knew it wouldn't last forever! Anguish has this now, you watch!
Anguish grabs his much smaller opponent, lifts him up for a powerbomb - but Skywalker hits him with several stiff punches to the head to throw him off-balance, then hurricanranas him towards the ropes! Anguish gets hung up on the second rope!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Oh no! Not yet! Don't watch this bit!
Skywalker takes a run up and hits a signature 619 and sends Anguish faltering back into the middle of the ring! Hopping quickly up to the top rope, he stuns the crowd as he tightrope-walks the top rope and goes for Old School!
But Anguish has it scouted! He turns, catches him by the throat and drives him into the canvas with a devastating Chokeslam!
Cover by Anguish!
One!
Two!
Thr- Walker gets a foot on the rope!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Even when Anguish manages to get a move in Colin Walker finds a way to thwart him!
Anguish sneers at Walker and drags him by an arm and a leg into the middle of the ring. He takes a couple of steps and drops an elbow - but Walker rolls out of the way! The fans pop as Anguish heads into a corner and once again Walker speeds into action with a handspring back elbow, smashing into Anguish, before Kenneth Casper makes a grab for his leg under the bottom rope!
Referee Iain Lewis spots the attempted interference and Casper tries to claim he did nothing wrong - which technically he didn't considering he wasn't able to actually grab Walker's leg - as the ref is cautioning Casper, Walker takes a run-up and suddenly shoots over the top rope and vaults onto Casper, both men go skittering across the ringside padding!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Colin Walker taking the fight to Anguish's run-in buddy now!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
He's mad!
Fans at ringside pat Walker on the back as he gets back to his feet and then he spots Anguish stepping out through the ropes - Anguish sprints after him, Walker takes off and runs away from him around the corner of the ring.
The two men engage in a chase all around the outside of the ring until Walker ends up right back where he started, face-to-face with Kenneth Casper! Anguish's buddy glares at Walker and takes a step towards him with rage burning in his eyes - but before he can attack, Anguish catches up and steamrollers the smaller man from behind!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Oh my god! He just sent Skywalker flying across the mats!
Anguish and Casper high-five and Anguish picks Walker up, rolling him back into the ring. He goes in after him, stalking him as Walker painfully gets up to his feet. He attacks from behind with a clubbing blow across the shoulders, then begins to toy with his prey.
Every time Walker manages to stand, Anguish knocks him back down again but he doesn't make a move to inflict a killing blow. He draws heat from the crowd as he makes his pecs dance, then places a boot on the back of young Walker, pushing him down into the canvas and threatening to completely destroy his ribcage.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
This is just sick! He's torturing the poor kid!
Anguish lets Walker get his breath back before using his boot to flip him over onto his back, and then placing the boot back down but this time across the young man's throat. Walker claws at the boot and his eyes bulge as he desperately fights for breath. The use of an illegal choke prompts a five-count from the referee.
One! Two! Three! Four!
Anguish lifts his boot to prevent himself being disqualified, but goes right back to the same move as soon as the count is broken.
One! Two! Three! Four!
Letting Skywalker up a second time, he shrugs off the protests from Iain Lewis and lays a hard stomp into the high-flyer's chest. Skywalker rolls around, clearly in distress.
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Listen to these fans inside the Oasis! They do not like what they're seeing one bit!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Well they'd better get used to it then, because we'll be seeing it a lot more during the Championship Tournament!
Anguish has a cocky swagger in his step as he lays an elbow drop on Walker, this time it connects, and he immediately makes a cover.
One! Two! Anguish pulls him back off the mat!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
He could have had him there but he refused to keep him down for the three, he's unhinged! HE wants to make Walker pay for showing him up in the beginning of this match!
Anguish forces Walker down hard, and presses down on his chest.
One! Two! He pulls him up again!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Anguish is NOT the sort of man you want to show up, Pat!
Anguish laughs at his foe's plight, but he stalls for too long and Walker lashes out and hits him across the face! Shocked, he loses grip of Walker who limps to his feet, almost collapsing against the ropes as the noise from the crowd swells in support.
Walker leans against the ropes and gives Anguish his best Nakamura-style "COME ON!" and Anguish sees red - he charges and Walker drops, pulling the top rope down - Anguish sails over, landing on the apron! Walker doesn't miss a beat, he grabs him through the ropes and hits a sick draping DDT to a huge pop! Anguish is stunned, he tries to get to his feet and Walker is off again, climbing to the top rope!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
The fans are on their feet! We could be about to see a spectacular upset here tonight!
Anguish gets up, Skywalker flies - cross body block... Caught by Anguish!
The fans are shocked into silence as Anguish scoops Walker up onto his shoulders and locks him in the Infliction Rack!
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Yes! Break him Anguish! Break him!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Nobody ever gets out of the Infliction Rack!
Skywalker hangs on for dear life as long as he can but it's no good, Anguish's finishing hold is locked in too tightly! He taps out, and Iain Lewis calls for the bell.
Tony Anderson (ring announcer):
The winner of the match by submission - Anguish!
'For Whom The Bell Tolls' hits and Anguish drops Walker to the mat. He looks somewhat unsteady thanks to the surprising onslaught wrought by Skywalker but he quickly shakes it off long enough for the referee to raise his hand.
He goes to the ropes to leave the ring - but then apparently has second thoughts, turning back towards Walker who is being helped up by the referee, and he grabs him in a vicious bearhug. He then presses him above his head before dropping him into a Michinoku driver!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
Oh come on! Enough is enough!
Kenneth Casper gets into the ring, congratulating Anguish and taunting Walker much to the dismay of the Swindon fans. They erupt into cheers though as...
Eric Chronister's music hits and the big man from the Penitentiary storms down the ramp. Anguish sends Casper out to cut him off - but Casper eats a Lights Out big boot for his troubles!
As Chronister slides into the ring, Anguish slides out to another round of boos. He waves off Chronister's demands to get back in the ring and fight, and heads to the ramp to scoop us Kenneth Casper. Chronister checks on Walker.
Dave Sharp (colour commentary):
Trust Eric Chronister to come out here and try to cast a shadow over Anguish's victory!
Pat Collins (play-by-play):
He came out here to try and put an end to that senseless assault! Anguish won the match, but he took it too far when he continued beating down Colin Walker after the fact! In two weeks' time Anguish takes on The Mechanic in the first round of our Championship Tournament, but the final match of that tournament on December 29th could see these two men right here going head-to-head for the ultimate prize, the PWA World Championship!
The show ends in similar fashion to the last episode; Eric Chronister and Anguish staring each other down.
Anguish laughs as he walks back up the ramp, as Eric Chronister kneels over the broken body of Colin Walker.

So hey, I posted this because, well, I wrote it so why waste it? If you haven't seen the news about PWA then go here: (LINK)
Just to satisfy the curious, the promo near the start of the show was for Eliah Nathaniel, I was gonna bring him back to PWA.
The tournament was going to be won by Anguish, with Eric Chronister chasing the belt through Supremacy and then finally winning it at a PPV in March. Chronister was an obvious and deserving choice to be first champion, but I like the story of having his arch rival win it and then Chronister gets the big win in the overall feud.
Thanks to everyone who joined, I hope you'll all take a look at the replacement fed when it's up and running!
