So you should've saved Lucario. I'm x and y you are gifted a mega Lucario but can catch and raise riolu wild early and having a trained by you mega Lucario is amazing. They also gift you a mega lati (different in each game) in Omega ruby and alpha Sapphire Good to know on the Lati stuff, didn't know about mega lucario but I have no regrets anyway. I'm not real excited to have to deal with mega evolutions, and honestly I don't think I'll have many pokemon that are even able to since it is usually given to previous-gen pokemon, and I usually aim for the gen-specific pokemon whenever possible. Mostly I'm concerned that post-B/W 2 will be a series of let downs. Oh and I'm not keen on megaevolutions, it seems like wank material for those guys who think a good battle starts with like two rounds of everyone juicing their pokemon before actually fighting. I just want to hit hard and fast

What!? How dare you accuse me of filming fetish movies instead of training my pokemon! ...Uh...please ignore the photo of me shooting a film about a giant office lady as I look up at her from ground level... LOOK, IT'S ART, OK!? ...ART IS COMPLICATED! Look, if you just go and see the movie... It's seriously not tha- ...I end up marrying her while she's still a giant in the movie... #Murica #ItNeverRainsInSouthernUnova

I learned something new about Pokemon today! And now I need some advice... So I don't usually reveal my team members until the end but here, meet Beth Phoenix: Beth was born a girl pokemon (hence the name). However, upon evolution he decided to become a guy. I didn't notice until today when he suddenly fell in love with a female pokemon (via cute charm or something) and I was confused. My question is this: Do I keep Beth as the Glamazon or do I switch his name to a male star and then name the next female B Phoenix instead?

Hey hey! I'm back at PokeStar Studios shooting some new films because after becoming champ apparently the adoring fans just can't get enough of me! The director let me grab a few snaps of the most recent movie series I shot- it was about Kaiju! OOC: Actually this movie series was sort of a slog, which sucks because I like monster movies. It seems like the post-Hall of Fame movies have unclear scripts and the internal puzzles in them are more tricky. I'm hoping the remaining movies aren't like that because I would like to finish this sidequest. #Murica #ItNeverRainsInSouthernUnova
Update! Oh thank goodness! A much better script was waiting for me after the terrible kaiju flick. A straight romance story. I and an ace trainer fall in love during a battle. Oh what's my pokemon? Look, look, there's a lot of substance to this- It's uh, it's art? Wow they really went for it in this one. #Murica #ItNeverRainsInSouthernUnova

Woooooo! White 2 is in the bag and I had even more fun than my Black 2 run! I think I covered most things in the last write-up, but as you could see from my updates I actually did do the movie-making side quest this time. It is a very long and involved process. Some of the movies are a lot of fun to make and turn out well (like the Giant Woman and the romance series I posted with the Lickitung). Some of the movies were an awful grind and had poor direction on how to get the right results (like the Kaiju series, unfortunately). Overall though it was a fun experience. As your movies get more and more money (I'm almost 100% sure the rates are pre-determined to assure you hit certain checkpoints) you become more famous and get more movie deals. After filming the final movie (the last of your series with the Black/White Ice Gym Leader) you are awarded with a golden statue (not of you, lame) in the movie lot AND AND you get a private dressing room. The dressing room doesn't really have much, but it has one important thing... That's a legitimate screenshot from the dressing room, not even out of context. Which if PokeStar Studios didn't already hint at in my movies and the dressing room, you may have noticed there's a bit of uh...adult humor going on here. Indeed the time-honored tradition of the creators sneaking in sexy jokes has continued into this game. In previous games it was usually a swimmer or two saying something strange- they're still there. One girl is debating where to put her pokeballs when she's swimming- and yet she's clearly put them somewhere since she's able to battle. The real intense stuff comes from the Ferris wheel. During those rides the characters will say sort of strange things, often about staying close because their scared or how hot their clothes suddenly are. From what I've read, in Japanese the rides are just chalk full of double entendres. The point is, Black/White 2 is a horny game. It's also STILL an amazing game. I don't think I can stress enough that this is the best Pokemon game I've played so far. As I mentioned last time though it is undercut by pretty much requiring you to play the original Black/White first to understand the story. Here's the bad news though. Gen 5 was a lot. All 4 games were big. Black/White 2 especially so (just look at the Pokemon levels- that's just trainer battles with no real grinding). I'm pretty Poke'd out from all of that and will be taking a bit of a break before starting on X/Y. Hopefully this helps me from getting disappointed in them as I won't need to compare as much. But it also means I won't be doing any updates for a while. How long is a while? I don't know. But by the end I didn't want to play Pokemon anymore, lol. I still was having fun because White 2 is THAT GOOD, but yeah, I need to get away from this franchise for a while, lol. Anyway, onto my great team! This team was a combination of pokemon I needed to use for some reason and pokemon I've been wanting to try and yolo'd on getting since I doubt Unova will get remakes anytime soon. 115. Candice Michelle What happens when you use all the starter Pokemon? Your starter becomes the local rat. I actually had the choice between the Patrat or the dark cat thing. But since both are terrible I figured that getting Return early in the game would offset the terribleness for a normal pokemon. I was right. C Michelle was at first TERRIBLE, then NOT VERY GOOD, then OK, then it learned hypnosis and suddenly it either one-shotted off Return or knocked it's opponents out with hypnosis and THEN two-shotted them off Return. All this is a roundabout way of saying that Candice Michelle actually held her own. She wasn't the monster my dog was last game, but if I didn't know what else to do I'd just throw in C Michelle and let her do work. Better pokemon than expected. 116. B Phoenix I don't know what it is about that spot, but after catching B in the same place I got my Rilou last time I did the same thing- I messaged Scorps to tell him I'd made a huge mistake. In actually I only grabbed this pokemon because I needed a surfer and a waterfall climber, and at the stage I was with pokemon, it would have been tricky for me to do it without getting the duck/swan pokemon (which would have then been an HM slave having Fly, Surf, and Waterfall). So I went with this blue ball. At first it was the worst thing ever. Azurill didn't gain ANY attack when it leveled up- at all. Just 0 every level-up. Marill wasn't much better. But once I got I think aqua tail or something I learned the secret: huge power. This pokemon got double strength for physical attacks. Once I was able to milk this ability B Phoenix became- no joke- my team's ace. As for the name? It turns out that Marills can change gender on the fly when evolving. The people here suggested I keep the name, so I dropped the Beth to it but kept B. Still a glamazon though. Great pokemon. 117. Michelle McCool Yes, we are deep into divas territory here. So the first part of this game felt like a series of mistakes. I actually was curious about the ghost-mummy pokemon and the ghost-type gave me added defense. What I hadn't counted on is that Cofagrigus required me to learn a whole different playstyle. The pokemon is slow, as in still in the double-digits while at level 90 slow. Couple that with weak attack strength I was really confused. As she grew though, so did McCool's defense. The intended playstyle is for enemies to hit Cofagrigus, lose their ability (as Cof's ability negates others on contact) and then get status effected (hence the Will-O-Wisp); after that you're supposed to use a move called Hex that'd f them up. But that really slows things down and I like pokemon that hit hard and fast. So I put on a quick claw and as you can see, mostly juiced the moves. In the end McCool worked REALLY well in short-term situations, like the Elite 4. She can tank hits and then dish it back decently. She did not work well for the 20-floor 344-trainered final dungeon, because I couldn't heal or use items to make up for the tanking. So the last 20 levels were hard fought, but then she reminded me how much I loved her when it was E4 second round time. Solid pokemon. 118. Layla I don't usually raise dragons, but the game gives you a chance to catch this fairly early. True to its name, Layla was a bit of a haxor of of pokemon. She was fast-ish and hit really hard. We're talking like a gain of 4 attack every level up hard. The trade-off is that her ability was a double-edged sword. It's called rivalry and is another one of those adult concepts they snuck in. Basically Layla is constantly thirsty. If she fights another female, she'll hit 25% harder because dang it she will be the one to mate! If she fights a male she'll hit 25% less hard because she doesn't want to upset his ego....so they can mate. So at times it could get frustrating when she wasn't able to knock out pokemon that my weak-ass watchhog could (and for real that was a weak pokemon)- but on the flip side she'd show insane feats of strength when fighting other females. Overall though a great pokemon, and dragons have hella defense against elements so there's that too. Good pokemon, as expected. 119. The Miz This. This is the pokemon I've been wanting to use all Gen 5. I wanted to try this flying bug fire monstrocity since the beginning, but in Black/White you can only get it late game (or an egg that'd require me to re-travel the entire map on foot just to get, then drag back to where I was until it evolved before I could fly). Here the place to get it is open earlier so I was able to snag it- fully evolved unfortunately but beggers can't be choosers. The Miz had INSANE special attack early on. His best move was FIRE SPIN, as in I could knock half a pokemon's life away with that. For those who aren't familiar, the main goal of fire spin is not the initial attack but that it lingers for several turns. However, like Michelle McCool, most of The Miz's moves sucked. So it had hella stats but only weak attacks to balance it out. Clearly I "fixed" that as things went along. Overall a very strong not-quite-legendary pokemon with a unique typing. Good stuff. 120. CM Punk Can you hear me now? Speaking of things I've been waiting all Gen 5 to do, I wanted to make that joke as soon as I found out there was pokemon called Virizon. Anyway, this is one of the 3 fighting legendaries the game offers. In Black/White they're a little tricky to get but in Black/White 2 they literally are just standing in your path as you go. Virizon is WAY better than Cobalion. CM Punk was a frequent fall-back pokemon and was mega useful in the final dungeon (since he could heal himself through giga drain). It goes to show that the plant/fighting combo from gen 3's mushroom wasn't a fluke, legit it's a good combo. There's not much else to say, I picked up CM Punk because I wanted to try it, and since B Phoenix was covering both surf and waterfall I had another "extra" slot. Woo for legendaries! Great pokemon, great team all-around. For real, this team was banging. Maybe one of my best, despite how off-balanced it may look. Again guys, I can't say enough, Black/White 2 is JUST SO GOOD. If you wanna have a fun time with Pokemon but haven't played in a while, go Gen 5 (Black/White + Black/White 2 + Pokemon Conquest), there's no losers in there.

*Dusts this post off* Hey everyone! I got the urge to play Pokemon again- but at the same time I didn't feel like I was ready for something as heavy as one of the mainline games (doing all four Black/White games really drained me even though I had an awesome time doing them). So instead I thought "What's a lighter Pokemon game I could play to scratch the itch but not doom myself to 30+ hours? Pokemon Colosseum! ....Which was an awful mistake because it took over 30 hours to beat, lol. I had mistakenly assumed that it was basically just Pokemon Stadium but with a little storyline segment crammed in- wrong. This is a full-on rpg, y'all. So the basic story of Pokemon Colosseum is that you were a criminal but decided that stealing pokemon isn't cool anymore so you blow up your old headquarters...and also steal the last remaining pokemon stealing device- you know, just in case you change your mind. The game takes place in a region called Orre which is a desert that features ZERO wild pokemon. The stores don't even sell pokeballs (well, one does but they're covered in dust until you start buying them). "BUT WAIT, MONGO, HOW CAN YOU HAVE A POKEMON GAME WITHOUT WILD POKEMON!?" Well remember how you swore off stealing other people's pokemon? Yeah you go back on that pretty quickly. BUT BUT, there's a good reason. You see, somebody has developed a way to make pokemon evil- and it has basically no real upside except they get this really strong move that doesn't care about types (but it functions basically like take down- including the fact that it hurts your pokemon too). So your mission, should you choose to accept it is "GOTTA SAVE 'EM ALL!" So basically during a battle (EVERY battle is a double battle, BTW), some trainer have shadow pokemon and you can catch those and then train their hate away (that's not even a joke). It's a neat mechanic but gets old after a million battles. I'm not kidding about that either, since there's no wild pokemon to grind on there's lots of trainer battles- many of which can be rebattled as much as you want as a form of grinding. But who needs grinding when literally one part of the game is a 100 BATTLE CHALLENGE. 10 sets of 10 trainers. It was a real grind. But on the plus side you also get to battle the current President of the USA! Anyway, here's the pokemon I used. You're supposed to "purify" all the shadow pokemon but really catching them was enough for me and I just stuck with my team after purifying them. I used pokemon I haven't used during the main games but I won't actually count this team. Also I just used the in-game name for the main character. These are in no particular order... Yanma Yanma was a poor choice, lol. There's a reason this pokemon got an evolution in later gens and that's because it's not very strong. That said, after the 100-battle challenge I was able to get a TM for Psychic that turned out to be a game changer and instantly made Yanma 10 times more useful. Not a bad pokemon by the end, but not a real heavy hitter by any means. Jumpluff Jumpluff was an MVP by all accounts. Since every battle was a double battle, having a pokemon that could use sleep powder was super useful. The only actual attack I ever had on it was Mega Drain but it was enough. AND it helped a lot for catching shadow pokemon because I could just put them to sleep. AND AND Jumpluff could tank like a mofo. I'd say having a Jumpluff was sort of like having a cheat code. Umbreon The game gives you TWO starters, a pair of eveelutions, Umbreon is the "older" twin because it's like a level ahead when you start. Umbreon's biggest asset was that he hit decently hard but could really take a hit himself well. Basically if I was having trouble in a battle and just needed a pokemon I knew could get the job done, I'd be rollin' out Umbreon. Misdreavus Unlike Yanma, Misdreavus didn't need an evolution in later gens- but it got one anyway. Misdreavus held its own the whole time without issue. It didn't have the highest defense but it was also a flying ghost so often that was sort of a non-issue. A solid team member all the way. Espeon The one-level younger of the starter twins. Espeon was a glass cannon. And by time it learned Psychic it was just a cannon period. Espeon was fast as all heck and for real hit like a ton of bricks. If I had Espeon out front it was almost guaranteed the battle would be a cakewalk. Ampharos Ampharos was great! As soon as he was purified he got Thunderbolt which made him hilariously powerful. His one drawback was that he was a little slow so it put a risk that your enemy might be able to get off an earthquake (sometimes at the cost of their own teammate!). Later in the game he learned Thunder and that was basically the end of any difficulties. "Oh this pokemon might be a problem? BOOM! THUNDER! Next." For those of you with sharp eyes you might realize this isn't really a good team in terms of type coverage, and with limited move sets and a lack of TMs- and them not learning a lot of the TMs available you're right! I just grabbed literally the first 4 pokemom I hadn't used before and rode them to the end. I would NOT recommend you do that. There's some great shadow pokemon to catch including the three legendary dogs. Overall Pokemon Colosseum was a fun experience, though it did become a bit of a grind because of the mechanics and that every battle was a double one. Graphics were great though. Man the GameCube was a really really great console. Until next time when I'll maybe play a mainline game, SMELL YA LATER!

Alright! Time to enter the much-maligned 6th generation! I started out with X- yes that's the name. Despite hearing reviews that it's "THE WORST POKEMON GAME EVER" it wasn't that bad. Honestly speaking, X&Y is a good game, it's just that most of the really good parts have really glaring flaws that take away from things. To really explain that let's take a look at good parts of the game and see what went wrong! Oh and spoilers follow so if you don't want to be spoiled get bent- this game came out years ago and you'll probably never play it without some coaxing. Good: Graphics. The game is beautiful in 3D. The pokemon look great and the battles are rockin' cool. Also the map. Also mostly everything about the graphics. Flaw: The early parts of the game are more-or-less a tech demo showing off the new 3D world. It's annoying that one of the opening roads is just a straight line that you can't explore on and they play with the camera on. Also the main city in the game, Lumiose City, is a giant circle with spokes. Also it features multiple screen cuts to move around in. Also the camera gets wonky because of the whole circle thing. Terrible. Good: The storyline. People give a lot of crap to the storyline but for me it's one of the best. The main bad guy is introduced as a good guy- no a GREAT GUY by the game's Professor. Random trainers tell you about how he helped them out of poverty by supporting them until they could become something more. He's created basically all the tech in Kalos. Dude is cool, and is pretty chill even after you start trying to stop him. Flaw: His heel turn is on a dime. The story is missing a chapter or two. You're introduced to Team Flare fairly early on but despite his clear association with them he doesn't actually come out as bad till later which...doesn't make sense. And when he does become a bad guy it's literally "Oh btw everyone, I'm going to blow up the world." A great story undercut by poor pacing. Good: Post-Game. The post-game isn't exhaustive which is absolutely fine. There's juuust enough legendaries to hunt including Mewtwo. There's a fun post-game story where you try to solve a mystery and everyone goes home (or to jail) happy. And there's the Battle Chateau, a club where you fight trainers and as you rank up you can fight better trainers including the gym leaders and Elite Four members. Flaw: Remember how I said you "can" fight better trainers? Yeah that's up to a random draw. You need points from the battles to level up and you get those from each trainer you fight. Better trainer = more points. Except you don't control which trainers are in the Chateau at the time and for some reason the game thinks you like trying to get to 1000 points by fighting a level 15 pokemon that gives you 1 point...a lot. I got up to the second to last rank (Duke, Grand Duke is the top) before getting upset and fighting the E4 to finish this. That plus one of the legendary pokemon is a Gen1 bird that roams. Bro I don't want to do that all day. Good: The Pokemon. Flaw: None, they hit a home run with the new type combos and pokemon designs. All in all X&Y is a great game marred by flaws. ONTO THE TEAM! 121. Janet Gaynor Woo, FireFox! Suck it Chrome! Apparently the WWE Women's Championship being used right now is NOT in the linage of the original, so I ran out of names once the Diva Championship took over. Scorps suggested Best Actress Academy Award Winners- this was a good call. Anyway Janet was great! She was relatively versatile and hella strong. Fire/Psychic works great and the design looks good too. 122. Rey Mysterio Wooo I love me a good strong normal type pokemon that gets Return early! Rey was instrumental in the first round of the E4- if I had a pokemon I didn't have a type advantage over BAM return it till it stopped moving. FurFrou has a dope ability that reduces damage from physical attacks- meaning it quietly has HUGE defense. I ended up being able to take down the Champion's mega-evolved Gardevior with this bad boy. Pretty good for "I need a non-water to surf on" pokemon! 123. Mary Pickford Of the two fossils, this is supposed to be the glass cannon choice, I think. But my experience has shown me that Mary was in fact not made of glass but of rocks and dragons- which are fairly sturdy objects. The two types more-or-less cancel out most of the other's weaknesses so pretty much everything had a hard time with her. You'll notice a lack of rock-type moves, I felt that Earthquake was better and her ability made Crunch extra strong so I used her more like a Dark/Dragon type that just happened to be covered in rocks. 124. Alberto Del Rio OH HECKS YEAH! This was a Pokemon I desperately wanted to use this gen. Del Rio was GREAT. His move "Press Slam" is both fighting AND flying type, so it hits EXTRA hard (though sometimes isn't super effective). The wide variety of moves that he was able to do made him super versatile and basically able to handle anything- plus he was pretty good at tanking super effective shots. The ice gym? Oh yeah this dude did about 80% of it, including all but one of the gym leader's crew. 10/10 would put a mask on a bird again. 125. Daniel Bryan Haha, the space deer was great. This pokemon was stupid powerful, it was like the game gave you a Mewtwo. Oh the new type that messes up everything? Yeah here kid, have it. I don't know how I feel about the games spoon-feeding you legendaries but for right now I will enjoy it. Daniel Bryan mostly just used that moon attack and thunderbolt, but really what else do you need? PURE POWER DANIEL BRYAN! 126. Seth Rollins Did you know that Politoed is catchable ONLY in this game? I ran across that fact on accident and was more than happy to skip my originally planned water pokemon for this. That said WOW Seth was the worst member of my team. His best attacks came REALLY late in the game and his stats were not really up-to-snuff for a special trade evolution pokemon. I was super disappointed. ...but then he did really well against the Elite Four. Go figure. Eventually during the post-game I felt I could trust him in most battles like the rest of the team but he wasn't the best at any given moment. That's Pokemon X! I wanted to get this written up so I can start Y because I am curious how my team for that will fare! See you next time...probably!

Politoed's niche is basically to be a rain setter. And yeah Xerneas is broken, would be even more in Gen 9 when single use items dont disappear after use letting you geomancy in one turn EVERY battle, busted. The games were fun but they were TOO easy, and really why set up Megas as this huge story point and give me EXACTLY 3 battles. One of which is Mega Lucario v Mega Lucario. Man every gym after you do that fight should have had a Mega especially since they only gave them 3 pokemon!!! Ugh this game had so much potential. It's not the worst ... (Gen 1 is still broken, gen 2 is still kinda bad). But man this gen disappointed me. Which sucks cuz the pokemon are awesome. They didn't even pay off the AZ storyline!

The AZ thing was stupid. They absolutely did not need it at all and it was missing like 10 chapters of making sense. "Here's a giant (literally) bum. Oh he's an immortal king doomed to walk the world forever. Oh he's challenging you to a battle. Oh he got his flower back." The end.
