So like every tabletop RPG, there are of course rules that come along with it to ensure that there's order maintained and also so we're not giving ourselves headaches when we're rolling the dice. I really don't have a whole lot but these rules I think are definitely some important ones to keep in mind:
1. Don't go around murdering everything. This is probably what leads to the biggest turn-off in D&D is when one or more people just decide to hack everything they see into minced meat for no reason whatsoever. It ruins the campaign and also ruins the experience for the other players and the DM.
2. Nothing extreme. By this I mean don't say your character "goes and grabs himself a lady, takes her up to his room and begins to..." you catch my drift? Nothing too explicit or obscene in that area but obviously when it comes to combat, we can all expect bloodshed and possible limbs being chopped off or whatever because this is D&D after all.
3. Combat and Skill Checks - If you can, use the dice rolling bot in the XHF's Discord since it will be easier to see, especially when we're taking part in combat as it will help run the fight a little quicker so I can get an easy calculation in order to progress the fight. The same thing applies to when I ask you to make a skill check if your character wants to do something in or out of combat such as sneaking into a building, lifting a boulder, haggling for a better price on an item, etc.
4. Don't be afraid to ask questions, even if it is something simple. I'd rather help you guys out in trying to know what a certain spell does or how a certain skill can be used, etc. I know it can also be tough to determine an attack roll when having to add all the modifiers along with the damage roll if it hits but that's what I'm also here for. To help you guys out in the campaign.
Again, these are pretty much the main rules I wanted to lay down but if I feel like there's another rule of importance, I'll add it onto here at another point in time.
