~The XHF Network feed cuts to static and fades to black. When it fades back in we see Gebin walking through a gym somewhere in Minneapolis. He is holding his phone out as if he had just watched a video and is … very disturbed. Must have had Viper in it. He approaches Esmur who is using the butterfly machine to get high reps at a lower weight in at this point in the workout.~
~Gebin shows him the video of Jeffrey Viper’s latest overused trope and Esmur just looks at it for a minute. He puts his hands over his face causing the weights to slam and a gym employee to shout at them. Esmur shrugs it off and looks back to the phone in front of him.~
~Esmur looks behind at the camera crew and looks back to Gebin with a quizzical nod of his head to the side.~
~He stands up and the two men walk towards the cardio machines. Esmur hops on an elliptical and Gebin a stairmaster. They begin to really go at it, clearly getting their bodies ready for two matches in such a short time.~
~The two men hop off their devices and wipe them down and then wipe their own bodies with their towels. They grab water bottles and hydrate. Hydration is key kids. They begin to walk to the exit grabbing their gym bags as they exit.~
~They head outside and head towards a rental car. A black Toyota. Because of course it’s black. It is also stained with dirt, grime, sand, salt, and snow residue because this is the frozen tundra of Minnesota in February. They get into the car and the camera man gets in the back seat.~
~Gebin smirks at the camera before we too fade to black then static and the feed restores to the regularly scheduled XHF Network programming.~
“Back already? Was the line too long for food?”
“Can you rap?”
“I mean I’ll wrap birthday gifts I guess, why? Did you forget your mom’s birthday again?”
“No rap, like the art form, like 50 Cent.”
“I … I’m not particularly musically gifted, I’ve never tried why?”
“That showing you gave was poor at best.”
“Ok it’s at this point you explain what’s going on? Am I being punked?”

“I suppose that is the issue with wearing a mask isn’t it. Any Joe Schmo … or Henry Viper … can slip one on and make a fool of himself in your guise. That was awful.”
“These videos … they provide an interesting advantage. How does one quantify them? We should do a video!”

“I … uh … ok you have me at a loss. Is that not what we are doing? This is a recorded promo I assume. Hence the XHF Network Camera Crew yes? Therefore this is a recorded video promo.”
“Not what I mean. Look at the tag team promos from Dylan and Jeffrey. They are different than every other promo on the Network. It’s odd. Most of these recorded vignettes are easy to quantify and judge quality versus quantity. But the Viper promos somehow aren’t. It’s like they get to use more screen time and get analyzed differently. It’s brilliant. And in the hands of someone less creepy and repugnant than Jeffrey Viper would be a revolution. Think about it. Dylan Black … was a very different man before Jeffrey showed up. His attitude was more dark and menacing. He had gravitas when he spoke. And when he is alone in a match that attitude shows. The Tag Team Annihilator he spoke separate from Jeffrey and that old persona came out and was intimidating. Yet somehow he is completely different when he includes these bits with Jeffrey. It’s almost like they somehow become different, like a video in a video.”
“That’s nonsensical Gebin. A video within a video? How does one even comprehend that? From a standpoint of us watching that would be like saying they were shooting videos while everyone else was submitting their promos in writing to Mongo and the fans somehow read them. It’s confusing and silly and I won’t entertain that thought. We need to focus. And besides, even if they are somehow doing something different: a) we do not follow others, we set the trends. B) That would somehow turn this current promo into the most meta thing ever. And c) … NOBODY wants to be the Vipers! Not even Dylan. We need to stick to the game plan. Stick to evolving our own style and showing everyone the power that comes from understanding the ways of the universe and the faith in the unending void.”

“This is the event we were preparing for since June 1 of last year. It is this opportunity we were moving toward since we debuted. The two of us have been running roughshod over the entire AWF roster as it was presented to us. The only hiccup we had came in the very match that could have earned us this opportunity a month or two sooner. A chance to step onto the global Network stage and show what we are truly made of. It came down to a long slog through two men who fashioned themselves demons, a romp with a couple of villains from a far off time and their literal nine foot tall robotic mech, and then a match playing with potatoes. Put simply there was no preparing for that. We failed. We focused on the weak link forgetting that the match didn’t allow for that and Dylan removing Gebin from that match made winning extremely unlikely. But we did not lose heart. After all, we are in it for the end goal not the personal victories. We knew this moment would come. We were too successful and dangerous to be kept out of the title picture for long. We had proven ourselves time and again to be the best tag team the network had and one glitch wouldn’t dampen the view of us to the tag division or to the network itself. In short, this match was always going to happen at some point. It was the only thing we were fighting towards and it would be impossible to justify holding us back.”
“There were those who would shun our message and try to justify removing us as some kind of benefit for the children. Our message isn’t wholesome enough or the message that the mainstream wants you to hear. After all we have at least four different competitors who talk about their faith in a diving being getting them where they are. One of them is somehow the president. What we say is not easy to hear, or a popular ideal to espouse. But we have faith in our message. We have confidence in our worldview and we know that others could benefit from it. In short we believe in our lack of belief. It is what fuels us and drives us. And nobody could argue that it hasn’t worked. From the moment we stepped foot in AWF, even as rookie new talent we took the place by storm. We set the pace in the fed and nobody wanted to come face to face with this machine. Nobody had hope to compete with the brotherhood we share and that was dangerous. The only saving grace for them was our desire not to hunt singles glory. But the higher ups felt differently and desired us to benefit the company by taking some singles matches to help their bottom line and get more people to notice us. And now people fear us as well. For both of us are also more than capable of toppling the top guys in this federation.”
“As Scott Fargo will soon find out. Together not even two of the three title holders in AWF can stand against our combined fury, our fluid focus. But even alone, champions will bend and break at our hands. My hands in this case. But Diamonds are Forever gives us the chance to topple the current tag team champions and claim their gold. It gives us a chance to destroy a team that has been running roughshod over AXW as if they own the place. It provides us that first out of AWF challenge and shows that we are the best team in XHF not just AWF. Granted there are those, us included, who would argue that the success of that faction is entirely due to Caffrey’s talent at the top and his use of the lackeys to overcome the few things that challenge him. His one v one with Chris Card should be enlightening. But still, it will mean a lot to topple James Raymond, a former world champ, for a second time. Though we should note Maverick is a FAR superior competitor right now to Wellington Dunne. There is potential there but as of now if we could easily pick apart NAK when they were primed for a run at the belts then what chance does this watered down version have?”
“Of course we need to be on our guard. Jeffrey and Dunne are obvious weak links in this match. We may be two men of equal and astonishing talent but these other teams have a clear talent and a weak link. This actually presents a dilemma. What if Jeffrey and Dunne tire out and get put down and the other team capitalizes? We could lose do to their ineffectiveness. So it is on us to be wary and aware of our surroundings at all times. We must use our ring mastery to completely dominate all aspects of this match. The advantage this time is this is a standard tag match. There are no easy ways to interrupt each other, no weapons, no … potatoes … to stop us. This match will come down to the in ring skill present and though we have never held singles gold ourselves there are few who would argue against the fact that we are two of the top talents in the AWF and the XHF Network. Dunne and Raymond bring their own history of failure and Jeffrey Viper is completely ineffectual. He is a distraction. This works in matches where he is involved at all times but there is little he can do trapped in the ring with us or stuck on the apron.”
“The key for us is to trust in the guidance of the abyss and bring all we have learned and mastered to the forefront. We have to be aware of the skill Dylan and Raymond do bring to the table, and beyond that we need to be aware of the illegal weapon Dylan has bolted to his wrist. One wrong move and a hit from that metal hand and it could sideline someone for a long time in that match. But you will find we are not worried. After all, this is the moment we have been training for. His is the time for the Nihilists to rise to the top and take our place as the top tag team in the world. There is no discord between us, there is no hatred and resentment over past feuds resulting in a forced family arrangement. There is no thinly veiled bile being tossed back and forth between us. You’ll also find no question between us over if we are truly on the same page or just out to gain for ourself.”

“You Vipers can talk all you want. Go ahead and stuff your video packages with more video packages. Hopefully keep any actual packages covered though yes? This entire run of yours is nothing but a phase, a bit of fun being had but nothing serious and nothing pegged for a long time showing. And deep down you know it. This ride cannot go on forever. Everything comes to an end. And this Sunday it will end for you in the most dramatic fashion. In the arena that started this whole XHF Network going, on a stage set up by the new guard of XHF, in front of the faithful and the world. Sunday the arena becomes enshrouded in a field of darkness. The abyss approaches and will provide its chosen warriors with all the tools necessary to bring this charade of a title reign to an abrupt halt. There will be no question when it is over who is the most dominant and who sets the tone for XHF going forward. The Vipers will be consumed by the emptiness within. Their hopes and dreams will evaporate as their successes are swallowed whole into the unforgiving nothingness that comes calling for us all. And who knows? Maybe this will also consume the team-up leaving them bitter and unable to stomach each other any longer. It’s not as if that hasn’t been bubbling under the surface for ages now.”

“We drive onward towards the inevitable. On this road ahead lies two important matches and two upcoming victories. Not because we need the validation or the glory. But because it is what will happen. Friday we topple the seemingly built for success team of the Gaibatsu Death Squad and Sunday we overwhelm the AVA and Team Viper. It really is a pity that Duke and Chaos left … otherwise Dunne and Raymond might have stood a chance. But on this road there is no room for pity. No room for sentiment. If you aren’t ready to hang with the best you need to find the off ramp and let those who are ready drive on. Dunne, there may come a time when you are a serious threat. There may be a day where you aren’t just the minion for the AXW champion. But that time is not now. You stand as a third fiddle to the AXW champ and a beaten, broken former champ. Raymond is clearly not all in this. He clearly isn’t ready to act as a team. He wants all the glory again. And inevitably he will be your downfall. He is too self-assured. His confidence may be shaken but his narcissism reigns on. And you will be a victim of his failure. And darkness will fall.”
“As for Jeffrey and Dylan … they too see the signs. They feel the coming storm and the unavoidable end. Their time is over as soon as it started. They should never have been anywhere near those titles and we will rectify this situation and send them home to their Hailey broken and defeated. After all … when you team with Jeffrey Viper how else could it end? Dylan … you just need to come to terms with the fact that your tag team title reign … is about to fade … to black.”
