Yumiko Kanagawa: "(Welcome everybody to Korakuen Hall for episode 10 of Saturday Sakura Genesis, "Fukkutsu no Sakura!)"
Kayako Kai: "(Six matches for you tonight including Au Nobu taking on Kikue Minami, Hannah Rockford faces off against Rukia Matsuoka, and Angels of Sakura division tag-team competition between the Pretty Committee and Skyland Paradise!)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(And that's not all, our main event tonight will see STRiFE defending her Idols of Sakura Championship against Lisa Frankenstein, and you've got to favor the champion in this match, no?)"
Kayako Kai: "(STRiFE has been on a roll ever since winning that championship back in November, three successful defences so far and she'll be confident of making it four tonight.)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(You mentioned two of the teams from the Angels division just now Kaichan, one half of our current tag-team champions Ashlyn Moon will be taking on one half of the nu8mber one contenders Fujiko Matsumoto in singles competition, I'm sure that both the Pretty Committee and Skyland Paradise will be keeping a keen eye on that one, but before we get to that match...)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: “(We start things off hot tonight with a Pride of Sakura title match!)”
Kayako Kai: “(We have the future of SSS being showcased tonight, but you have to wander how good these two are going to do in a shoot style setting.)”
The sounds of a thunderstorm echo across the arena speakers as purplish-blue spotlights come to life near the entrance ramp. At their centre, head down, arms folded, is a tall and slender figure, their long hair falling forward onto their face and partially obscuring it.
The figure remains in this position until a moment later, when the rainstorm transitions into the iconic opening guitar lead to Slayer's 'Raining Blood'. At the same time as this transition occurs, the blue spotlights go out, leaving the house lights to illuminate what is now clearly seen to be a young woman. As the riff begins, she uncrosses her arms, holding them out to each side in a double show of the metal horns as she indulges in a spot of headbanging.
Then, as the legendary lead gives way to mid-tempo riffing, the girl makes her way down the ramp, keeping her focus on the ring but not neglecting the occasional outstretched hand in her path. Once at ringside, she scales the steel steps and lets herself in through the middle rope. From there, she makes her way across the mat to the furthest turnbuckle and slumps down into a seated position, her arms resting on her knees. She retains this position right up until the bell rings, at which point she stands up and coolly removes her leather jacket, before stepping forward to start the match.
Yumiko Kanagawa: “(And here’s Hellraven!)”
As Rising Hope gears up, Momoko makes her way to the stage. She rises a single finger up in the air, feeling the crowds cheer rain down on her. She finally makes her way to the ring, greeting the fans as she makes her way down the ramp. Momoko climbs on the apron, she makes her way to the top rope and looks down at the fans. Before she finally raises another finger in the air. After some seconds Momoko, jumps down and makes her way to the middle of the ring, displaying a striking pose. Momo-chan goes tot the nearest corner and awaits for the official to start the match.
Karin Wholfe: “(This match is under Pride rules and can end in KO, TKO, or Submission. Introducing first from Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan she stands at 5’7 and weighs in at 130 pounds, she is Hellraven!)”
Karin Wholfe: “(And her opponent she is the current and second ever Pride of Sakura Champion with one defense. Coming from Kyoto, Japan she stands in at 5’1 and weighs in at 114 pounds she is Momoko Honda!)”
Both ladies get cheered and streamers thrown into the ring before the bell rings and the fight begins. The action starts off with both taking time to feel each other out and get a grasps on one another’s skills. We get some decent amount of reversals and catch wrestling from both before the match turns into a slugfest after frustration from Hellraven.
Hellraven starts to get an advantage with her height and weight, she easily gets more jabs in as she bobs and weaves around Honda. Honda would try to fight back, but it’s not much as every time she gets up, Hellraven beats her back down.
After a few close calls and taking a brutal beating, Momoko, with the help of her fans unleashes her fighting spirit and a flurry of strike combinations as well. Hellraven would be seen charging her for a lariat of sorts, but it’d be caught and transitioned into a crucifix like hold onto the mat, where Momoko would unleash a multitude of stiff elbows to the head of Hellraven, causing for a TKO victory.
Karin Wholfe: “(Your winner and STILL Pride of Sakura Champion, Momoko Honda!)”
Yumiko Kanagawa: “(Our next match sees a special singles match with the current Angles of Sakura Champion, Ashlyn Moon taking on one half of the number on contenders in Fujiko Matsumoto.)”
Karin Wholfe: “(Introducing first, from Queens, New York, USA she is one half of the current Angles of Sakura and have made 3 defenses. She is Ashlyn Moon!)”
Karin Wholfe: “(And her opponent from Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, she is ‘The Snow Dragon’ Fujiko Matsumoto!)”
The match starts off with a quick handshake from the babyfaces before they circle each other around the ring. The first real contact is seen when Ashlyn and Fujiko tie up. Fujiko throws Ashlyn into the ropes and she bounces off them, attempting a springboard move of sorts Ashlyn lands it but not for long as both stand to their feet again.
There’s a lot of back and forth in the match and we see a lot of high risk high impact moves as both show off their clash of technical and high flying action. Fujiko would get a two count after hitting Moon with a Tail Smash dragon Whip.
Towards the end of the match we’d see lots of back and forth action, with an attempt of the Icebreaker spinning kick, one of Matsumoto’s finishers, but Moon would duck it and land a Spinning backfist onto Fujiko. She’d climb up to the top rope and land her Shooting Star Spiral imploding 450 splash for the win.
Karin Wholfe: “(Your winner of this match, Ashlyn Moon!)”
Yumiko Kanagawa: “(Our next match sees some action from our Angles division.)”
Kayako Kai: “(The first ever Angles of Sakura, Skyland Paradise are going to be facing a hot new team in The Pretty Committee. They’re the only two who even come close to being as nice as yours truly.)”
The match starts off with Mei and Bianca in the ring.the two tie up to start off and we see Mei show us just why she was a former champ, getting the advantage in the early going ons of the match. There’s a lot of technical action with tie ups and submission attempts from both before they both tag out and veronica and Sakuya meet in the ring.
Veronica uses her agility and cunning wits to outsmart Sakuya and even get a few near falls out of it. The pretty committee would get some more offence in, trapping Sakuya in their corner and hitting her with multiple double team moves, tagging in and out in the process. They’d go for a Fashion Disaster, but Sakuya would fight them off, eventually getting a hot tag to Nakahara who would hit the committee with a springboard crossbody before Skyland would finish them off with an Azure Sky, a firemans carry takeover into a swanton bomb, for the win.
Karin Wholfe: “(Your winner of this match, Skyland Paradise)”
Kayako Kai: "(Our next match sees Mad Dog Au Nobu taking on Kikue Minami in singles action...)"
Kharin Wolfe: "(Introducing first, from Utashinai, Hokkaido - Kikue Minami!)"
Kharin Wolfe: "(And her opponent, from Sydney, Australia - "Mad Dog" Au Nobu!)"
The crowd boo both women involved in this unorthodox heel-versus-heel matchup as Nobu makes her way down the ramp. She swigs repeatedly from a bottle of alcohol and rolls under the bottom rope and Minami immediately stands up to her, face-to-face, before offering a handshake. Nobu looks down at the outstretched hand and slaps it away, spitting the booze in Minami's face and immediately sets about her opponent - the initial boos from the fans turn to cheers however as Minami sparks an exciting brawl, fighting back and showcasing impressive power against her larger adversary.
The first half of the bout is a fierce contest as neither woman manages to gain a definitive upper hand over the other, Mad Dog scores a two-count after a running big boot but Minami hits back almost immediately with a sickening knee-strike that arguably could have ended the match, were it not for Nobu managing to get her foot up onto the bottom rope. They brawl back-and-forth and both women find themselves on the verge of disqualification on numerous occasions, Nobu hitting Minami with what appears to be a closed fist, Minami's sleeper hold moments later coming perilously close to being considered an illegal choke. The referees warn both competitors, but they both continue to find ways to subvert their authority without getting caught.
The first real run of momentum for either competitor comes around the nine-minute mark as Mad Dog hits a vicious rope-hung neckbreaker on Minami, she gets a two-count but Minami kicks out, before Mad Dog follows up with an Irish whip, sends her opponent flying with a knee to the gut and then hits a somersault neck snap, she rushes to the middle rope for a diving knee drop but Minami rolls to the outside. Mad Dog gives chase, pummeling Minami and manages to shepherd her over the the commentary desk. She pulls her hapless opponent up on top of the table and looks set to give her a piledriver through the wood- but Minami reverses and backdrops her to the floor below!
Now Minami gets the upper hand, she manhandles Nobu back into the ring and makes a speculative cover, getting a two-and-a-half count for her efforts. She forces Mad Dog back to the mat, but she kicks out earlier this time and pushes Maniami off of her. Nobu looks to be firing up but her clothesline attack misses as Minami ducks underneath it, Nobu turns and eats a crunching Screaming Banshee roaring elbow! She crumples - one! Two! Kick out! Minami screams at the referee before picking Nobu back up, sets her up for the Blackfire Atom Bomb - but Nobu wriggles free, she drops down behind Minami who turns around - a swing and a miss from Minami and Mad Dog Nobu finds herself behind her opponent - BackDrAup Driver! Mad Dog Nobu hits her finish and makes the cover for the win!
Kharin Wolfe: "(The winner of the match - "Mad Dog" Au Nobu!)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: “(This upcoming match has been brewing for months now, with these two women having troubles stemming from an after match altercation that led to a tag team match last year.)”
Kayako Kai: “(That’s right, and now they’re going to settle things here in a No DQ match! These two are going to destroy each other tonight!)”
This match didn’t take long to get violent as both women, who have been dying to get at each other in singles competition start off this no DQ match trading chair shots with each other! Each chair shot sends them staggering till they both hit each other at the same time, causing both Rukia and Hanna to fall down, ensuing a 10 count.
The match would continue to see both women use the no dq rules in their favor as they’d use many weapons throughout the match. At one point we’d see Hanna and Rukia even brawl into the crowd. We’d see Rockford hit her switchblade spinning complete shot signature move on Matsuoka right onto the bleachers. We’d also see later on see an Oyasumi spinning backfist from Matsuoka that would knock Hanna off the top level of Kurokuan Hall and fall through a table. The end of the match saw Hanna dodge a Doki Doki Dropkick from Matsuoka, and after scraping her opponent up from the floor hit her with her own 'Blackheart' Pumphandle Flatliner to pick up the three-count.
Kharin Wolfe: "(The winner of the match, Hanna Rockford!)"
Kayako Kai: "(Here we go, it's time for our main event of the evening!)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(Can STRiFE hold on to her Idols of Sakura championship against challenger Lisa Frankenstein? We're about to find out!)"
"Fear of Dying" by Jack Off Jill hits and the crowd cheer for the challenger as she makes her way down the aisle. She high-fives and gladhands with the fans but still looks focused and ready for her match. As she climbs up into the ring the crowd pop big for her, she stands up on the ropes and ghosts a title belt around her waist.
Kayako Kai: "(Lisa Frankenstein looks very confident of victory heading into this match, she has momentum on her side after winning an open challenge at the last house show, whereas STRiFE suffered a rare defeat in a multi-woman tag-team match.)"
The lights start to dim as the intro to “Sin” by Lynch begins to play throughout the venue. The song starts to really kick into high gear at about twenty-eights seconds. At that point, STRiFE makes her way out from the back; her signature black towel is draped around her shoulders and covering the top of her head, the Idols of Sakura championship belt strapped round her waist.
There’s a seriousness and sternness in her eyes as she deliberately makes her way down to the ring. She circles the ring until she makes it over to the steel steps. STRiFE then steps through the ropes and enters the ring. She makes her over to where the hard camera is positioned. She then removes the towel, revealing her face. STRiFE gives the camera a dirty look or two before she heads to the corner.
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(STRiFE was on the losing side last time around, sure, but I think if anything that's just made her more resolute to address the balance and pick up the win tonight.)"
Kharin Wolfe: "(This contest is set for one fall with a one hour time limit and is for the Idols of Sakura Championship!)"
Kharin Wolfe: "(Introducing the challenger - she comes from Glasgow Scotland, she is... Lisa Frankenstein!)"
The crowd cheer.
Kharin Wolfe: "(And her opponent, she is the reigning and defending Idols of Sakura Champion with three successful defences... hailing from Kyoto, this is STRiFE!)"
The crowd boo STRiFE as the referee brings the two women together for a handshake. STRiFE looks like she might refuse but shakes Lisa's hand anyway. As Lisa turns to go back to her corner, STRiFE pulls her back and tells her very bluntly, in English, that she is going to have her ass beat tonight.
The bell rings and the match gets underway. Lisa immediately goes hard on STRiFE for her comments and almost scores an immediate victory with an impressive roundhouse kick that stuns STRiFE, catching her out of nowhere. Lisa looks like she is out to prove herself tonight, she goes hard and fast and just like the roundhouse kick that nearly finished the match early, her offence comes at pace and from almost impossible setup positions, surprise move after surprise move lands and the crowd noise swells as they anticipate a shocking title change.
Kayako Kai: "(Who would have predicted this sort of start to the match? It's been all Lisa Frankenstein so far!)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(Not to sell STRiFE short because it's not like Lisa Frankenstein is inexperienced between the ropes, but STRiFE is an accomplished shoot fighter in her own right - and she can barely catch a breath in between all these kicks!)"
STRiFE manages to block a punch and whips Lisa into the buckle - but Lisa hops up the ropes and springboards out, clocking STRiFE with a big flying knee that takes her down! She makes a cover - the crowd are on their feet - only a two-count!
Yumiko Kanagawa: "So close!"
STRiFE gets a shoulder up and rolls out of the ring. The crowd jeer her as she limps to the barrier and tries to ease her aching body, but Lisa Frankenstein has other plans...
Kayako Kai: "(What's Lisa doing here? Is she-)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(Look out below!)"
Lisa takes a run-up and flies through the ropes with a suicide dive - but STRiFE is prepared, she dodges at the last second and Lisa crashes into the barrier!
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(That could prove to be a costly error for Lisa Frankenstein! She moved out of her comfort zone and STRiFE capitalized on it!)"
STRiFE staggers as she gets up to her feet but with Lisa Frankenstein down on the mats she can afford to take a moment to recover further. Pulling Lisa up to her feet she hits her with a stiff forearm smash to the face and follows with a northern lights suplex on the outside. Lisa rolls round in pain, and STRiFE looks to the mats, and begins pulling them up to expose the bare floor underneath then drags Lisa back to her feet - the outside referee tries to stop her, but STRiFE drops Lisa with a brutal piledriver on the exposed floor.
Kayako Kai: "(That's too much! She could have seriously injured her!)"
STRiFE considers letting the referee's count run out, but she opts to defeat Lisa Frankenstein in the ring, rolls her under the bottom rope and goes straight for a pin. Kick out at two by the challenger! STRiFE keeps the pressure on, locking in a rear naked choke but Lisa had the presence of mind to crawl to the ropes to force a break. Undeterred, she lashes out with a low kick and trips the champion, grabs a leg and drops an elbow to the knee but STRiFE counters the attempted follow up - now looking to lock in a kimura! Frankenstein struggles, pushes STRiFE down - her shoulders touch the mat and the ref counts... one! Two! Thr- STRiFE breaks the hold to survive!
Lisa Frankenstein rolls away, clutching the arm that was just twisted back painfully behind her body, and STRiFE sets up for the killshot... stalking her prey she grabs Lisa by the hair, yells in her face...
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(If she hits this, it's over!)"
STRiFE goes for 'Bullet To Your Throne' but Lisa somehow manages to duck the kick, STRiFE goes down on all fours...
Kayako Kai: "(Lisa Frankenstein looking for the 'Man Opener'! Can she...)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(No! STRiFE rolls out of the way!)"
STRiFE escapes Lisa's finisher attempt and regroups, grabs her from behind in another rear naked choke - Lisa gets a foot on the ropes and walks up them, backflipping over the top of STRiFE and to freedom... she hits her with a backstabber! Both women are down on the mat and begin crawling to the ropes, the exertion from this match now clearly evident. They pull themselves up on opposite sides of the ring, and face off in silence.
They both rush each other, they clash in the center of the ring and a two-woman brawl breaks out. They each take turns as the aggressor, grabbing onto whatever part of the other's attire they can in order to restrain them as they hammer in blows. A sudden high kick from Lisa Frankenstein staggers STRiFE and she wobbles, but suddenly bursts back into the fray and launches Lisa with an overhead release German suplex!
STRiFE grabs Lisa looking for a deadlift German suplex - but the taller and heavier woman manages to make herself dead weight, blocking the throw and then firing an elbow backwards to break the waistlock... STRiFE fires back with a forearm to the back of Lisa's head and tries again, this time with better results and she throws Lisa Frankenstein up and over, landing her on the back of her head and neck.
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(STRiFE really on a roll now and she's setting up for that Anaconda Choke finisher right now...)"
STRiFE rolls over to Lisa and as predicted, she locks in the 'Twisted Sister' Anaconda choke and cranks back, Lisa writhes in pain as her brain begins to starve of oxygen. She tries to shimmy to a rope to cause a break, but STRiFE pulls her back and away from the ropes.
Kayako Kai: "(It's only a matter of time until- who turned out the lights!?)"
All the lights in the arena go out, and the crowd murmurs, confused. When the lights come back on however...
STRiFE finds herself caught in the gaze of Zolothach, with Lisa Frankenstein somehow free from the Anaconda choke and spluttering in a corner.
Kayako Kai: "(It's Zolothach! What is she doing here?)"
STRiFE looks dumbfounded, unable to process what just happened and how she now finds herself empty-handed on the mat and staring up at the ghoulish face of Zolothach. As she begins to realize the situation, she springs to her feet and suddenly - the lights go out again.
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(Now what? The lights are off again!)"
The lights come back on - and Zolothach is gone! The crowd cheer though as standing right behind STRiFE is none other than Lisa Frankenstein, wobbling, but gritting her teeth and begging her to turn round.
Kayako Kai: "(Wait, now she's - what is going on?)"
STRiFE senses something is amiss, and she does indeed turn round - and walks right into Lisa's wrist clutch fisherman driver!
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(Oh my god! Evil Dead III! There's no getting up from that!)"
STRiFE's head is driven into the mat, and Lisa all but falls on top of her, the crowd counting along out loud...
One!
Two!
Three!
Kharin Wolfe: "(Here is your winner, and NEW Idols of Sakura Champion... Lisa Frankenstein!)"
Kayako Kai: "(Lisa Frankenstein has done it! She's beaten STRiFE for the title!)"
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(With more than a little help from Zolothach, though! What happened there!?)"
Kayako Kai: "(It looks to me like Zolothach just scored a measure of payback against STRiFE after being beaten for this title at Supremacy!)"
Lisa Frankenstein looks like she might lose consciousness at any second as she is helped to her feet by the referee and handed the Idols of Sakura Championship, and holding the belt in the air she gets a great reception from the fans.
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(Our fans here in Tokyo showing their appreciation for the new Idols champion after a hard-fought match, albeit one that will now go down as a controversial result... nonetheless, Lisa Frankenstein is now the Idols of Sakura Champion, join us next month as we travel to Kentucky USA for "Bluegrass Stampede", perhaps we'll find some answers-)"
Kayako Kai: "(Wait a minute! What's this!?)"
As Lisa celebrates, a fan jumps the barrier and rolls into the ring. Someone wearing a baggy hooded top strides up behind the new champion, and in one fluid movement scoops Lisa up onto her shoulders, before dropping her with a burning hammer.
Kayako Kai: "(Who is that? What the hell is going on!?)"
The hooded figure stoops down and picks up the championship belt, and placing one foot on the fallen champion, whips back the hood.
Yumiko Kanagawa: "(That's Dixie Kixx! You want to talk about scores being settled between Zolothach and STRiFE, well Lisa Frankenstein got one over Kixx at the Winter Festival...)"
Kayako Kai: "(Dixie Kixx come looking for revenge and she got it... except now Lisa has something more that she wants from her!)"
Dixie looks at the gold, and then holds it high up in the air above her head as the show goes off the air.
