TOMMY ONIONS: Well here we go Joseph.
JOSEPH GREER: Esmeralda looks nervous stood in that structure Tommy?
TOMMY ONIONS: Wouldn’t you? She’s got a hard job in front of her.
JOSEPH GREER: Also Nocturnal’s comment about making sure nobody disrupts this or else they will get on his bad side.
TOMMY ONIONS: He wants this to be a match of the ages.
JOSEPH GREER: I know what you mean. This on paper seems to be a dream match of sorts.
TOMMY ONIONS: Hell in a freaking Cell Joseph.
JOSEPH GREER: Yes I know Tommy. Shall we listen to Bob?
BOB MOONEY: Introducing first the challenger; hailing from Parts Unknown, weighing in at a trim 213lbs and standing at 6 foot and 1 inch. It is the man known simply as D!!!!
A fresh burst of cheer accompanies the beginning chords to ‘Freak’ by Silverchair blast its way through the arena sound system.
JOSEPH GREER: Here we go! Time for the main event! Joseph, who do you have in this one?
JOSEPH GREER: I’ve got to go for the champ in this. He has the experience to. Look at all the guys he has gone through over the years he’s been in RSW.
TOMMY ONIONS: Betting odds put D as the slight underdog in this match …where’s ‘D’?
Well into the song at this point, what started as cheers for the enigma have tapered off to polite clapping mixed with some frustrated boos.
JOSEPH GREER: There’s no way ‘D’ would miss tonight…unless…
TOMMY ONIONS: Unless what?
JOSEPH GREER: I was thinking if Shane had got someone to take him out beforehand…
Joseph doesn’t get to finish his thought as he’s cut off by the music dying and for the first time in recent memory the veteran Mooney who’d handled countless no showing talents over the year’s looks shocked, unsure of what to do next.
Then darkness takes over the arena.
A single spotlight casts light towards the top of the ramp way. D steps out into the red spotlight at the top of the ramp way.
TOMMY ONIONS: Told you he wouldn’t miss this.
JOSEPH GREER: Maybe it was just getting to him?
TOMMY ONIONS: D is a professional, he’s not like that EMO chick?
JOSEPH GREER: We’ve been told not to mention her again.
TOMMY ONIONS: At least Salem got off easy.
D walks down the ramp way with a shadowy grace, he ignores the fans as he surveys the arena, taking in the cheers, boos and confused in-betweeners alike.
JOSEPH GREER: He’s concentrating on winning this match.
TOMMY ONIONS: That he is.
He looks satisfied with whatever is going on around the arena D rolls into the ring and begins stretching and testing the ropes.
BOB MOONEY: Introducing, from Huddersfield, England; weighing 235lbs and standing in at 6 feet seven inches; he is the RSW World Champion, Shane Mitchell!!!!!
Crowd boo extremely loudly “You sold out” chants are heard. “Fool’s Gold” by the Stone Roses begins playing as Shane Mitchell walks out from the back. The gold strap is over his shoulder. Shane looks at it before turning back to the crowd. He lowers his head and raises a water bottle above him, pouring it on his head and face. He spits some of the water out as he begins to walk forward towards the ring. He pauses in the aisle for a moment, and points to the “Shane Mitchell” logo on his jersey, showing it off to the crowd. Once he gets to the ring, he climbs in and walks to the centre of the ring. Once there, he takes off his jersey and tosses it to the corner. He takes off the RSW World Championship belt as well, and holds it high above his head for everyone to see. He slowly looks around the cell soaking in the atmosphere.
TOMMY ONIONS: Four times world champion does mean he’s lost it a few times before.
JOSEPH GREER: D may be the underdog in this match so what has he got to do?
TOMMY ONIONS: Well he’s got to beat the champion for one.
JOSEPH GREER: True but if anyone could do it, it would be him.
The two men stare at each across the ring. D keeps his eyes fixed firmly on Shane as Esmeralda places the padlock on the door. Shane keeps looking around at the cell structure, clearly a little nervous. D doesn’t even bat an eyelid. Esmeralda checks that the door is secure and then rolls into the ring, she signals for the bell. The two men walk to the middle of the ring; they go chest to chest and stare into each other’s eyes. Shane is the first to blink and D immediately hits him with a right hand, Shane comes back with right hands of his own and the two men exchange right hands in the middle of the ring. Shane being the better brawler wins the fist fight and begins to knock D into the corner with right hands. He then delivers a couple of knees and then more right hands before he starts to stomp D down in the corner. Shane backs away as D slumps down in the turnbuckle and then charges in to deliver a violent knee to the face of D. Shane drags D to the middle of the ring and covers, trying to get a quick end to the match. Esmeralda drops for the count.
………………..1
…………………2
……………. D kicks out easily.
TOMMY ONIONS: I think it is way too early for anyone to go for a pin, right?
JOSEPH GREER: We do agree on somethings.
Shane pulls up D and delivers a Falling Suplex. D gets to his feet and staggers back into the ropes, Shane charges in and clotheslines D over the top rope. He lands on his feet and staggers back into the cage. Shane comes off the opposite ropes and then Dropkicks D through the ropes as he tries to get back into the ring, sending him crashing backwards, headfirst into the Steel of the Cell Wall. Shane pulls D up and rakes his face across the wall of the cell. He then drags him up and runs him into the ring post, which D’s head bounces off. D pulls himself up to his feet and Shane whips him hard into the Steel Steps, which D takes knees first and flips over them, making a huge sound. Shane walks over to D, a little more confident than he was at the start of the match. He pulls D up and simply slams him headfirst into the cell wall. Shane then drives Ds head into the cell wall and then rakes him across it as he drags him around the ring. He gets about half-way when he decides he’s had enough and rolls D back into the ring. He reaches under the ring and grabs a Steel Chair and throws it in. D’s forehead has been gashed, and there is some blood coming from it, but nothing major. Shane climbs back in the ring and picks up the steel chair. He goes over to D, who is doubled over and raises the chair above his head. Suddenly D lifts his head up and then pokes Shane in the eyes. He reels away holding his face, waving his arms around as he can’t see. D recovers himself and kicks Shane in the gut and delivers a DDT.
JOSEPH GREER: I haven’t seen D use that move in an extremely long time.
TOMMY ONIONS: Probably because it’s illegal in most matches.
JOSEPH GREER: True, but D does need to do anything to beat the much bigger champion.
D doesn’t go for the cover, but instead picks up the Steel Chair. He waits for Shane to get to his feet. He is rubbing his eyes, to try and get his sight back. D doesn’t give him much chance as he clocks him over the head with the Steel Chair, although Shane gets an arm up to partially block it. D drives the chair into the gut of Shane while he is on the floor. D goes for a cover.
………………..1
…………………..2
………………… Shane kicks out.
TOMMY ONIONS: Is that because the champs still blind?
JOSEPH GREER: He should have been able to beat him if so. Shane isn’t the Ray Charles of wrestling.
TOMMY ONIONS: Who?
JOSEPH GREER: Tell me you didn’t say that?
D places the chair on the mat, he pulls Shane up to his feet. He hooks Shane from behind and delivers a Falling Reverse DDT onto the Steel Chair. Shane rolls away holding the back of his head. D goes for another cover.
………………..1
…………………2
…………………. Shane kicks out.
TOMMY ONIONS: Esmeralda is doing an okay job right?
JOSEPH GREER: Well she isn’t a proper referee but being in there with those two.
D places the chair over Shane’s throat and then climbs the turnbuckle. He then jumps off with a Leg Drop driving the chair into Shane. D then leaves Shane and goes to the outside. He reaches underneath the ring and pulls out a bag of something. He rolls back into the ring. He opens the bag and pulls out a number of thumb tacks. He sprinkles them on the mat, he then empties the entire bag on the mat. D pulls Shane up and then sends him to the ropes and then lifts him up and turns him around and Spine busters him onto the tacks to turn his back into a Human Pin Cushion. Shane rolls through the tacks until he is away from them. D has a sick smile on his face. Shane is backing away and actually begging off from D, pleading with him not to do any more. D delays for a moment, then moves in, but Shane gets in a Low Blow. Shane gets up and hooks both arms of the now doubled up D and delivers a Double Arm DDT. Shane rolls out of the ring and pulls D with him. He grabs him and slams his head into the side of the cell once again. Shane then turns both of them around and delivers a Russian Leg Sweep, driving D’s head into one of the frame poles of the cell. Shane then pulls D up and throws him back into the ring. Shane then pulls a table out from under the ring, and sets it up on the outside. D’s forehead is now bleeding much worse than it was before. Shane walks around and climbs up onto the apron, but D is getting up in that same area, and he dives to hit a shoulder block to Shane’s gut, doubling him over on the apron. D then flips over and tries to Power bomb Shane off the apron, D lands on his feet, but Shane holds the ropes to block it, but then his fingers slip free and D Power bombs him onto the floor.
JOSEPH GREER: D is in the zone today, nothing is going to stop him from achieving his dream of becoming the next RSW World Heavyweight Champion.
TOMMY ONIONS: But there is one thing that will stop him, Shane freaking Mitchell.
D lifts Shane up onto his feet, and then onto his shoulder, he then runs and drives him face first into the wall of the cell. D picks up Shane again and again drives him face first into the cell wall with him on shoulder. Shane gets up, his forehead now bleeding rapidly. D sees this and now rakes the forehead of Shane along the wall of the cell, opening up the wound even more. He then backs away, before slamming Shane’s head into the wall of the cell. Shane falls to the floor. D grabs a Steel Chair and climbs to the apron, and then to the 2nd rope. He then dives off with a Flying Chair/Elbow to Shane, creating a loud crack of steel and bone. Shane staggers up to his feet. D whips him hard into the cell wall, Shane bounces off and then D clotheslines him down. D brings him back up to his feet and whips him into the wall again, and again clotheslines him down as he bounces off. D picks Shane up and goes for it a third time, but this time Shane ducks the clothesline and then hits a Hangman’s Neck breaker. Both men then stay down.
TOMMY ONIONS: Oh this is an amazing match Joseph.
JOSEPH GREER: So it is.
It is D who recovers first however and he grabs Shane as he is getting up and runs and slams him face first into the cell wall. He stops him from falling over and slams him into the cell wall next to the table. Shane bounces off and sprawls onto the table he set up earlier. D climbs on the table and motions for a Pile driver, but as he reaches down to pick up Shane, the Champion gets in his 2nd Low Blow of the match. He then grabs D and delivers a Jumping pile driver through the table. Both men stay down for a few moments.
TOMMY ONIONS: Shane is getting desperate isn’t he?
JOSEPH GREER: He could have broken D’s neck there.
Shane then starts to throw away the metal and wood around him and gets to his feet. He leaves D and goes over to the padlocked door. He shakes the door. But it doesn’t budge. He motions Esmeralda over and seems to ask her to unlock the door. A camera on the outside gets close so we can hear what’s being said. She tells Shane that she can’t unlock the door. Shane grabs her by the throat and threatens to beat the shit out of her if she doesn’t but Esmeralda still refuses so Shane lets her go and then turns away but turns just as D goes to smack him with a chair but misses Shane and hits Esmeralda instead.
TOMMY ONIONS: OH MY GOD!!!
JOSEPH GREER: She’s out!
Shane then beats D down with hard right hands, he the aggressively pulls him up to his feet and rakes his face across the cell wall. He then slams his head into the cell before throwing him down to the mat. Shane then searches Esmeralda and finds the keys to the padlock. Shane unlocks the padlock and tries to open the door, but it doesn’t budge. He looks around and sees two bolts at top and bottom. Shane undoes the bolts and opens the door. EMT’s are rushing down the sides of the ramp. Shane staggers through the door and starts to head up the ramp, as the EMT’s go through and give some medical help to Esmeralda.
JOSEPH GREER: Shane has had enough, he’s running away, with his tail between his legs.
TOMMY ONIONS: Shane isn’t running, he’s just taking a tactical break.
JOSEPH GREER: Tactical break, he’s leaving, he doesn’t want any more of D and the Hell in a Cell.
Suddenly the entrance way explodes in fire, and Shane reels backwards, shielding his face from the heat. When the smokes fades away, standing in front of the entrance is Eddie Havok. Shane looks up at him, and then back at the Cell. D is now up from going through the table, and he is stalking around the ring towards Shane. The World Champion looks back and forth and has to make a decision. He can’t go up the ramp, as the fresher Havok will beat him down and send him back to the Cell, and he doesn’t want any more of D. He then looks up and runs to the cell and begins to climb up the cell. D stops and just looks up as Shane climbs and starts to laugh. D then moves quicker and begins to climb the cell himself.
JOSEPH GREER: I don’t know what Shane is thinking now, he has nowhere to go!!!
TOMMY ONIONS: I have no idea what he is thinking, but he is committing career suicide if he goes on the top of that cell.
JOSEPH GREER: Plus with Havok out here too. I know he wants the World Championship but he needs to get in the cue.
TOMMY ONIONS: What’s Nocturnal going to do about this?
Shane gets to the top and sees D climbing behind him. He quickly hurries over to the other side of the cell. D climbs over and literally runs across the cell to Shane and grabs him as he is trying to climb down. D tries to push Shane off the edge of the cell. He hits him with a right hand, and Shane flails backwards, holding on with only one hand, he swings back and gets hit with a second right hand, and flails about again. This time Shane comes back and gets in a right hand to D. He then decides to climb up to the top of the cell. D quickly grabs Shane and tosses him overhead with a Perfect Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex. Shane lands hard on the roof; it sags beneath his weight as he bounces off it. D pulls Shane up and slams his head into the pyramid-like frame structure on the top of the cell, for raising and lowering it. D then turns Shane around and delivers a Neck breaker on the top of the cell.
TOMMY ONIONS: Ouch! That’s got to hurt him.
JOSEPH GREER: Doh! What do you think?
D then stalks around Shane, deciding what to do next. He rolls Shane over and then pushes his foot into his head and rakes it across the roof of the cell. He then bends down and repeatedly bangs Shane’s head into the roof of the cell. D pulls Shane up to his feet and lets him stagger around the top of the cell for a second. He then lifts Shane up in the air and lets him fall onto the cell roof from as high as he can get him; seemingly trying to break the roof of the cell. He doesn’t succeed this time. He is undeterred however and pulls Shane up to his feet again and lifts him up in the air and again tries to break the roof of the cell using Shane’s body. The roof sags, but it doesn’t give way. D then walks over to the edge of the cell and looks over. He smiles that sick smile of his and walks back towards Shane, he picks him up and runs towards the edge of the cell, looking to throw him off, but right at the edge Shane dives down onto his stomach and pushes D who goes flying off the edge of the cell and crashes through the announcers table down below.
TOMMY ONIONS: Holy ……….. (announcers cut off as they dash out of the way of the falling D)
Shane gets to his feet on the top of the cell and looks around. Everyone in the crowd is on their feet, staring at the fallen D, who doesn’t appear to be moving.
TOMMY ONIONS: Are we back?
JOSEPH GREER: I think so.
TOMMY ONIONS: Where was I? Oh yes. HOLY SHIT!!!!
JOSEPH GREER: Holy Shit is right, one moment we are commentating on the match, the next we have D’s body falling towards us. This match is surely over now, here comes the EMT’s now. HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!
TOMMY ONIONS: HE SAT UP!! HE SAT UP!!!!
JOSEPH GREER: What the hell? D just sat up!!!
Shane is watching over the edge of the cell and he jumps back about three feet and falls on his ass when he sees D sit up. Shane crawls backwards across the cell and turns to try and go down the other side. D is up and has an evil look in his eyes. How he is even standing, nobody has a clue. Eddie Havok stands at the bottom of the cell looking up at Shane, again he is faced with the decision, he decides to take his chance with Havok this time and starts to climb down, but Havok swings a Kendo Stick at him, and he thinks better of it and starts to climb up the cell. D is now on the top of the cell and he is standing on one side, his body seemingly still, he raises his arms and the arena begins to darken. Shane climbs over the edge of the cell and stands opposite D, looking around, with a scared look in his eyes, something we have never seen before. Shane spins around, not sure what to do, then D starts to slowly stalk towards him.
JOSEPH GREER: I have no idea what the hell is going on here. D seems to have changed into this monster that will do anything to win.
TOMMY ONIONS: Don’t look at me, I have no idea what’s happening either.
Shane is trying to find a way down the cell, but every time he goes towards an edge, Havok runs around to that side blocking him. Shane turns around and sees D right in his face. He backs off for a second and then throws a hard right hand at D. He takes it and simply turns his head. He turns back and faces Shane and then wipes his face with his hand. He then explodes on Shane punching him repeatedly in the head. D grabs Shane and rakes his head against the cell roof for a few seconds and then lets him go, Shane reels away, holding his head, his face bleeding. D slowly stalks Shane. He backs off and begs D not to do anymore, but D doesn’t even show any expression he just keeps coming and delivers a hard boot to Shane’s face. He pulls Shane up and lifts him over his shoulder and then slams him into the roof of the cell. D goes to pull up Shane, but he gets in his 3rd low Blow. But it has no effect. D just pounds Shane back down with a hard right hand. Shane’s face has the “What the hell else can I do?” expression on it. D pulls Shane up to his feet. Shane suddenly gets a poke to D’s eyes, and this seems to weaken D’s resilience for a moment and Shane kicks him in the gut and then delivers a Release Power Bomb.
TOMMY ONIONS: OH MY GOD!
JOSEPH GREER: He has been possessed!!!
Shane throws D so hard that the roof of the cell gives way and D crashes down and bounces off the canvas below. The crowd murmur, half in shock. An extremely loud chant of “Holy Shit” rings around the arena. Shane slowly climbs down the cell. But Havok is still there. Shane can’t climb down because of him. Out of the back come Cain and Caleb Koresh of all people, They are wearing their new merchandise and run to the aid of Shane.
JOSEPH GREER: First D goes through the roof of the cell, and now the Koresh Family are coming to the aid of Shane. I guess they are what Nocturnal was talking about.
TOMMY ONIONS: It’s all good so far, the Family are getting rid of Eddie Havok, D is out cold, and Shane is about to cover him.
The Koresh Family drag Eddie back up the ramp way and through the entrance way. Shane rolls into the ring and covers D. The substitute referee, Rob Hill makes the count.

…………………….. D gets his shoulder up. Shane slams the mat in frustration. He pulls D up to his feet. He then delivers the Sudden Death and then hooks the leg for the cover.

………………… D gets his shoulder up again. Shane can’t believe it. He slides out of the ring and grabs a Steel Chair. He gets back in and tells D to get up, he does so, albeit groggy and Shane cracks the chair over his head. Shane slams the chair into the mat and then covers again.

…………………….. D gets his shoulder up again. Shane now snaps and grabs the chair and starts to smash D on every body part with the steel chair. Finally after what seems like 20 chair shots, but was actually 10. Shane makes the cover, certain of victory. Rob makes the count.

………………….. D gets his shoulder up again. Shane can’t believe it.
JOSEPH GREER: Where is D finding this strength? Is it fate that he must win? Because nothing Shane does seems to get him anywhere. Four times D has kicked out of pin falls, when all seemed lost.
TOMMY ONIONS: Is D invincible or something?
Shane picks up D, but out of nowhere, D suddenly hits the Twisted Truth onto the steel chair Shane mangled on his body. D drapes an arm over Shane, the crowd chants along with the count.

………………………….. Shane gets his shoulder up. The crowd cheer, because they think it’s a 3 count. But Shane got his shoulder up at the last possible moment. This time it is D who is disappointed. He pulls D up to his feet, but he counters and delivers another Sudden Death onto the steel chair. Shane covers.

……………………………………3!!!!!
JOSEPH GREER: It’s over, it’s finally over, somehow Shane has escaped with the win, but it took everything he had in him.
TOMMY ONIONS: Some weird shit happened during that match, and somehow Shane survived it all, even you have to give him credit for that.
The referee takes the belt and approaches Shane but D grabs the belt off of him and stands in front of Shane.
TOMMY ONIONS: D is being respectful to the champ.
JOSEPH GREER: That is why he is liked so much.
He looks at the belt and then back at Shane. D hands him the belt and raises Shane’s arm.
JOSEPH GREER: There we go D is such a good sport.
TOMMY ONIONS: That surprises me to be honest.
D nods and then clothes lines Shane down to the mat.
TOMMY ONIONS: OH MY GOD! He’s broken!
D picks Shane up by the hair and screams in his face. He pummels him busting him open more. D grabs the belt and lays it on the mat and lays Shane’s head on it. He grabs a steel chair and smashes it into Shane’s head.
TOMMY ONIONS: He’s finally cracked, he’s broken!
JOSEPH GREER: He has a sadistic smirk on his face!!
D bends down and whispers something in Shane’s ear before he wipes his hand on Shane’s bloodied face. He looks at his hand before wiping it across his chest. Security start to swarm the ring as the cell is raised.
JOSEPH GREER: Shane may have won this battle of sorts but I think this is just the opening salvo in the battle between these two.
TOMMY ONIONS: I agree. D looks like a different person that the D that entered this match.
Security get between them and try to get D out of the ring whilst EMT’s rush to look at Shane. D pushes them out of the way, taking a swipe at each of them before he gets to Shane once again. He picks Shane back up and starts to push him back to the corner. He charges in and avalanches Shane in the corner. Security drag D off of him as EMT’s roll Shane out of the ring. D stands in the centre of the ring as EMT’s strap Shane to a back board and start to roll him up the ramp way.
TOMMY ONIONS: D’s not happy.
JOSEPH GREER: He’s taken this way too far. What’s he doing now?
D shakes his head and rolls out of the ring. He’s not finished with Shane. As the EMT’s push Shane to the top of the ramp way D reaches them and encourages the EMT’s to step away. He unclips Shane and shouts more abuse at him before he slams his face into the grate at the top of the ramp way. He sits on his back and locks in the Straight Jacket.
JOSEPH GREER: How can he do this? Shane is unconscious. He can’t tap to this!!
Security grab D and drag him backstage leaving the EMT’s to check on Shane.
JOSEPH GREER: Well we will have an update on Shane on RSW’s Social Media so keep an eye open for that.
TOMMY ONIONS: What a scary ending to such a great pay per view.
JOSEPH GREER: Well goodnight ladies and gentlemen!
TOMMY ONIONS: See you at Anarchy!
