Kofi Kingston is still the WWE Champion, his reign now in its tenth month. Having gone through a gruelling Elimination Chamber match just four nights ago to defend his title, he now makes his way to the ring.
With microphone in hand, he addresses the WWE Universe.
And his news is not good.
Kofi tells the Universe that during the Elimination Chamber match, he aggravated an old injury that doctors have warned him will only get worse if he continues to wrestle. At 38 years old, Kofi knew that his time at the top of the mountain was limited anyway, so he has made an agreement with Smackdown GM Eric Bischoff to go out on top.
At Wrestlemania 36, Kofi will defend his Championship for one last time in the main event - and he has been allowed to pick his opponent.
There is only one man, Kofi says, who he thinks deserves a shot.
Only one man who, if they don't get the chance now may never have a chance again to wrestle for the ultimate prize.
And that man is...

The stage is set. Becky Lynch will main-event Wrestlemania for the second year running as she becomes the first woman in over two decades to challenge for the WWE Championship.
The next few weeks on SmackDown are spent building up to Wrestlemania 36.
APRIL 5, 2020
A nineteen-hour Show-of-ShowsTM concludes with a main event that is sure to divide people. A woman not only closes the show out for the second year running but she competes this time around for the top male championship.
Seth Rollins, having lost his Universal Championship earlier in the night to the Royal Rumble winner (it's of no consequence who that is. Let's say it's Bray Wyatt) accompanies Becky to ringside in order to cheer her on as she attempts to bring some gold back home.
The New Day likewise accompany the outgoing WWE champion Kofi to ringside - and throughout the entire match, none of the seconds get involved. They pick their wrestler up and encourage them, but they never interfere. This is a good, clean, babyface-versus-babyface affair.
At the end of a gruelling match where Becky takes an admittedly more subdued Kofi right to the limit, she eats a Trouble In Paradise and Kofi makes the cover.
He will retire as undefeated WWE champion.
APRIL 10, 2020
Kofi Kingston returns to the ring for the last time as WWE Champion, before cutting a stirring promo and thanking his fans and New Day buddies for their support throughout his career.
He concludes by saying that even though she didn't win the title at Wrestlemania, she showed that she has more than proved that she should be the first woman to wear the belt. Kofi calls Becky out to the ring, and says that she is the one who should carry on in his place.

Daniel Bryan comes to the ring. He gets right in between Becky and Kofi and says that enough is enough. He has waited too long for his chance to get his WWE Championship back, and he's not going to stand by and watch as Kofi just hands it over to Lynch.
Becky shoots back and tells Bryan that she doesn't WANT Kofi to just hand the title over anyway... but she'll happily break Bryan's arm and take it the hard way. Bryan's eye twitches with frustration as she stands up to him, and he leaves without a resolution.
Eric Bischoff later confirms that the WWE championship is now vacant, and that next week we will learn who will challenge for the title at Money In The Bank.
APRIL 17, 2020
The following week on SmackDown, GM Eric Bischoff tells Becky that Daniel Bryan agrees to face her for the WWE title on one condition - that she can defeat Rowan later on tonight. Becky agrees without hesitation.
But she also questions why Bryan gets to call the shots. If she has to qualify for this match, then so should he. Bischoff nods in agreement, and the two leave, discussing this further off-camera.
Later on in the night, Becky makes her way to the ring for her main-event match against Rowan. Despite being hopelessly out-muscled, especially with Daniel Bryan buzzing around ringside, she looks to have no chance in hell...

{Spoiler}
Seth Rollins pelts to the ring, having gotten to the arena as fast as he could upon learning that Becky was to face the monstrous Rowan. He fights Bryan off and in the confusion, Rowan ends up going through the commentary desk.
Becky piles as much debris on top of him as she can, and rolls back into the ring narrowly avoiding the ten-count - she is going to Money in the Bank!
APRIL 24, 2020
The next week, Daniel Bryan opens the show and shoots about how it's not right that Becky was able to weasel her way into a match against him because of interference from her boyfriend.
Eric Bischoff interrupts - and reminds Bryan of what Becky said last week. It's not fair that she had to qualify for the title match and Bryan didn't, and so tonight Bryan is going to have to jump through some hoops of his own if he wants to take Becky on for the title.
Bischoff announces that later on tonight, Bryan will face off against a borrowed RAW superstar - Seth Freakin' Rollins! And furthermore, both Rowan and Becky will be barred from ringside!
The main event comes around and Bryan takes the early lead. He fights Rollins with the fury we saw him unleash on Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series 2017. Rollins manages to turn the table however, and sets Bryan up for a stomp...
When suddenly the lights go out.
And when they come back on, Bryan is gone, and in his place - the Universal Champion Bray Wyatt.
Seth backpedals in confusion as Wyatt stands up and begins to advance... then the lights go back out.
This time when they come back on, Wyatt is nowhere to be found - and Bryan is in the corner psyching himself up for his running knee. Rollins turns - and Bryan connects. Covering him, he makes the pin and rubber-stamps Bryan vs Lynch for the WWE Championship in two weeks at Money in the Bank.
MAY 1, 2020
Daniel Bryan has had enough of this intergender nonsense. He vows that at Money in the Bank he will shut Becky up for good, and shut down the idea of men wrestling women.
"That's not very progressive of you, Daniel..." comes a voice from backstage.
Eric Bischoff walks out and tells Bryan that despite what he may think, the people DO want to see Bryan face Lynch and furthermore, they want to see him get his ass kicked. And since he's so against men wrestling women, Bischoff says that tonight they'll meet halfway. There's going to be an intergender tag-team match, under traditional intergender tag rules, and that Becky will find a male partner of her choosing and Bryan will find a female partner to team with him.
During backstage segments, we see Lynch and Bryan mulling it over. Bryan doesn't seem to be having any luck convincing a woman to team with him while Becky... well, she doesn't even seem to be trying. You'd think she would pick Seth Rollins, but he took a knock during Monday Night Raw and can't compete even if he wanted to.
Eventually, Bryan stumbles across Lacey Evans. The Sassy Southern Belle tells Bryan that she would be more than willing to face off against her old rival again.
The time comes for the intergender tag match, and Becky still has yet to reveal her partner. She makes her way out onto the stage and then...

Irish compatriot Finn Balor has joined the game!
The tag-team match goes pretty much as you would expect it - Bryan and Evans cheat like hell, Becky and Balor have their backs up against the wall as the search for the hot tag. Eventually they find it and the roof comes off as Becky steamrolls Evans. She looks to set Evans up for the Dis-Arm-Her but Bryan comes through the ropes - Becky instantly takes HIM down into the submission hold before Bryan starts to fight back, drawing Balor into the ring and all four wrestlers brawl as the match is thrown out.
MAY 8, 2020
This week the four main eventers from last time face off in singles competition. To preserve their momentum heading into MitB, Bryan beats Balor and Lynch defeats Evans.
MAY 10, 2020
Early in the night, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt face off in a brutal cage match for the Universal Championship. Both men are bloodied and beaten, but ultimately Seth Rollins comes out victorious as he hits a Curb Stomp onto Wyatt.
In the Money in the Bank matches, Lacey Evans comes out on top for the women, while Finn Balor wins the men's ladder match.
A short while later, Finn Balor is found beaten up backstage and taken to a hospital.
In the main event, Becky Lynch and Daniel Bryan finally square off in singles competition for the WWE Championship.
And right about now I'm getting tired of writing and I've got shit to do so let's just cut to the finish.
Becky wins the big one!
The first-ever female WWE Champion is crowned and confetti pours down from the ceiling as Seth Rollins comes out to congratulate Becky, and they celebrate as double champions.
Until...
Lacey Evans' music hits and she charges to the ring and flattens Becky! She grabs the referee and starts thrusting her briefcase into his hands - she wants to cash in on Becky!
The referee keeps yelling at her that this isn't how any of this works, and THEN and then...

WHAT THE FUCK?
Brock Lesnar - having not been seen for months suddenly shows up with his Money in the Bank briefcase. Seth's eyes widen, and Brock hands the case off to the referee.
Seth takes no chances and lunges for Brock - who scoops him up and F5's him clean over the top rope! Already hurting from his cage match, there is no way Seth can even get up, let alone defend his title.
But Brock then turns to Becky and gives HER an F5, and orders for the bell to ring.
1... 2... 3... Brock Lesnar is the new WWE Champion...
MAY 15, 2020
New WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, along with RAW GM Paul Heyman, walk to the ring. Heyman cuts a promo on the fans, on Eric Bischoff, on everybody. He already runs RAW, and now he runs SmackDown too as he manages their champion.
He starts to mock the fans saying "B- b- b- b- the contract ran out! The contract ran out! NO! It didn't! The contract very clearly states, that my client can cash in up to ONE CALENDAR YEAR after the fact. And since ONE CALENDAR YEAR doesn't expire until... oh would you look at that, TOMORROW! Then my client was well within his rights to *ahem* jump Finn Balor in the line for a title shot and take what was rightfully his.
Heyman is cut off by none other than Balor himself on the big screen, who reveals that not only did Lesnar jump Balor in the line but he jumped him backstage too, otherwise Balor would have come to the aid of his friend Becky Lynch and taken the WWE Title from him at the end of the PPV.
Balor says that enough is enough, he's not going to let Lesnar run roughshod over the title and hold it hostage for another two years. THIS. ENDS. NOW.

The Demon limps to the ring and hands over his briefcase in front of an incredulous Lesnar and Heyman. Lesnar laughs as Balor stares him down - but he is unprepared for what follows.
Although injured, The Demon fights with everything he has and then some, until Lesnar gets him up onto his shoulders. He spins him out for an F5 - but Balor flies free. Balor rocks Lesnar with an enquigiri and then retreats into the corner to prepare for a running attack - Paul Heyman grabs hold of one of Balor's legs from outside the ring, drawing the ref away - allowing Becky Lynch to slip into the ring having come through the crowd and crack Lesnar over the head with a kendo stick!
Heyman throws his hands up on his head and tries to alert the ref - but Lynch slips away before she can be spotted, and Balor knocks Lesnar down with a slingblade. Climbing to the top rope, he hits the Coup De Grace and pins The Beast to become your NEW WWE Champion!
Ok so I had to take some liberties here such as drafting Becky Lynch back to Smackdown and assuming that the Wildcard rule would be gone by this point, just so I didn't have to bother booking Raw as well lol. And I had to just make my own date for Money in the Bank 2020 that fit the storyline, good thing WWE haven't confimed the date yet. Also I get that a lot of people aren't into intergender wrestling, which is why I put Becky up against Kofi and Bryan for the most part - at least as crusier/light heavyweights they're a bit closer to her in size. The one match against Rowan was put in there as an "insurmountable odds" angle but I just did it once unlike WWE who did it about nine million times with Kofi.
I know Becky being champion for less than a day wouldn't be great, but once again in order to have Balor come and win the title for himself I needed Brock to cash-in when he did, or move the PPV earlier (and I think it's already too early anyway) - having Becky only reign for a few minutes before losing it would allow them to say that it had happened at least, possibly to test the waters as to how fans would actually welcome a female WWE champ, and any fan backlash could hopefully be channelled into her getting a second reign rather than just ignored...
Anyway I hope you liked it, any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.
