...if someone was curious and wanted to know, what's the difference between the RP board and the reactions board?

There is a lot of debate as to what the Reactions board can actually be used for but...
The RP board is specifically for the 1k word promos that go toward the judging of your matches
The Reaction board is more for continuing character development and helping Matt to shape your push/direction. So like a CD board that has a little influence on your stuff (as opposed to a CD board that nobody reads). I usually use it as an area for extra material relating to my rps to help better flesh out my character and his relationships

Thanks for responding Mongo. The original idea for the reaction board can be found here: xhf09.proboards.com/thread/14977/reaction-board-infoOver the past year the reaction board has evolved beyond the original concept. It serves as an opportunity for the handler to directly respond to what just happened, or what they anticipate happening next. The reaction board opens a lot up from a booking perspective and definitely helps shape someone’s push in the future.

To give an example of what I feel are prime ways of using the ' Reaction' style post.
These four examples stand out to me specifically.
1. Steve Awesome's reaction is currently driving a story he is involved in, and leads by going back to the post-match squabble between himself, D, and Esmeralda; giving the reader another layer of the story, and setting up what we can expect of Steve Awesome; his mindset is sold here and I know what his character feels about the match. Now he can focus on his next match when he goes to roleplay.
2. Keith William's reaction is a great example of driving forward a narrative that he ended the show on. Now we see Keith here, short and sweet, calling out the two people he's been watching. I'm bias here, because I'm the target now for Keith, but this is a prime example of setting up your next match, and giving the staff some direction on your booking thoughts/preferences, or who you're gunning for. It was short, sweet, and stuck out from being not just another roleplay or a segment, but a reaction to the events that unfolded on the latest show.
3. @neojamescarner's twitter page ramblings as posts is a brilliant idea that I'm happy to see happening! This is honestly a creative outlet, without having to actually use a Twitter page. I enjoyed NJC's take on the reaction board, thinking that it gives him a list of things that people can go back to and see what he was thinking, within a reasonable amount of text (144 characters I think still for Twitter). Does it fall into the conventional method of the Reaction board, I dare say 'no' but with optimism that those who do go this route, use it within a reasonable way that layers their characters thoughts that we don't see in roleplays. Maybe people will tag @neojamescarner on his last post, and reply back using a handle to further a feud, or to show agreement for something he said. Its wide open here, and something I originally didn't think would work but he's proven me wrong on.
4. Eron Hunter's reactions, just about any one of them, have layered his character after a win or loss. This is one that rings special to me, but I definitely feel has the most 'oomph' for Eron's character and how he approached the match. His roleplays told the story, while his reactions shared his feelings. Letting both stand out from the other, roleplay vs reaction, which could be the best way to approach reactions for new people getting started in NPW.
That's my take on the Reaction board. Hope it helps clear up some thoughts.
Also there are plenty of great examples I could have chosen, I just picked four that stood out to me.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I've posted one so far and it was the GSP gang on their bus in the immediate aftermath of their debut, so I figure that was in the right ball park. I'll get better at it over time as I get used to the format. It's a cool idea. Sort of like a long-form in-character board. I always loved in-character boards.

No issues here Rob, I enjoyed the reaction you posted by the way. I thought it hit the nail on the head for the purpose of the Reaction board. Any type of segment style interaction following a show, where someone debuts, or someone is making a statement, is a free reaction for those involved. Its your time to shine - if you want to be in the ring, doing an after-the-show-ends promo with a group of people, like the Rock, Austin, and Triple H would do after the Aired product ended - Do it! Get the fans involved if your a baby face, make them love you, or if you're a heel take some time and place yourself in those situations that show you're character being a filthy slime ball. We want creativity in what you post, reaction or roleplay - get crazy, or continue doing whatever works for you. It should be noted, I believe the 'Reactions' board is by far the most asked about thing when people come to NPW. There is really no wrong way to use it (yet). It will be an ever evolving forum for however we decide to use it. My examples are purely based on what I like to see it used for. However I have used it in other ways myself in the past. So don't get hung up on my examples and thinking you have to do it THIS way or THAT way, there is no wrong way.
